  If any one has not listened to the Sapnay number "Dur na ja mujse" by SPB, please listen to it. Those who say that SPB's hindi diction is bad will automatically break an eg on their face.
  
  No other singer could have sung that song so well, mind U the lyrics for that song did not fit the tune at all, still SPB was able to render a perfect song simialr to the Tamil one for which he got the Only National Award for tamil.

  friends!my name is manish and sp is plybck singer but rafi sahab called with respect all around world was or is a playback institution and variety,verstality and range which rafi sahab had no singer can match or come near to.patriotic kar chale hum...,bhajan....o duniya ke rakhwale,qawwali..shirdi wale sai or parda hain,sad songs...yeh duniya agar,comedy...sar jo tera chakraye..,sensual...aaja re aa zara..,romantic tum jo mil gaye....,u name any mood and and there are numerous gems of rafisahab may be friends from south dont have much knowledge of hindi to them spb is greatest and i dont have any offences bt he is just a regional singer and has lot of limitations,rafi sahab was very innocent and great human being as well...above all friends u can ask spb as he is much bigger fan of rafi than me as he always says after hearing rafi i think i am 50% singer...or u can ask ar rehman who has always maintained only one singer can convey any feelings through a song and that is rafi sahab,there are many instances of his life and many info on rafisahab's songs and any one wants to send his view pls do so ...

  manish, fyi people from the south listen to more hindi songs when you compare with people from the north listening to south indian songs... the main reason behind that is the national language funda.. and the amount of hindi movies screened in south india... having listened to both rafi, spb, KK, KJY etc., people from the south have a better scope for judging singers rather than people from the north who have listened to Rafi and KK alone.. even the spb songs and kjy songs you would have listened might be just their hindi songs.. Now that you have told that spb has his limitations, can you pen down a few and let us know... and again we are not talking about rafi vs spb as a human being and their good and bad qualities...

  so rafi is respected world wide, because he is called Shaib, but SPB is not respected, haha, where r u from man??
  
  it is very sad to see this northies with their narrow minded thinking abilities, we being south Indian/ Srilankans, listen to Hindi songs from the great rafi to clowns like kumar, udit, nigam & co, haha.
  
  If SPB is regional singer, cos he sang mainly in south, rafi is then regional singer to us, cos he mainly sang in hindi, OK.
  
  Like Thiru said, pen down a few SPB limitations, boy u will have fun doing that, cos u will not find any, I will come up with rafi's limitation, yes, I know SPB says Rafi is his favourite and blah blah, does that make him any inferior to rafi?

  raghu who is narrow minded this i dont need to prove those who can respect their national language,i dont any kind of respect or appreciation from them anyways i am nt concerned about just 4 states because singing is much higher than that.guiness book,my friend but spb is not or never will be part of it and pls next time before saying haa haa please learn how to write sahab....i dont have to prove a point because whatever i have learnt about rafi sahab is from all legends of music industry and whole world knows about and i am too small to say anything about him.i cannot increase his greatness by words or u can reduce it by having a different view.but comparisions should have some base tommorow people will start comparing kumnar sanu to any great singer.singer should be understood in each language he sings and rafi sahab has done that...anyways i am not going to be part of this forum anymore as i dont want hurt myself by hearing anything as north indian or anything,because last time when i wrote u only listen to south indian meant there people dont speak and understand hindi and friend hindi is not regional it is national and is more than anything to me...

  Tamil is a national language in many more countries than Hindi and so Hindi cannot hold a candle against Tamil and therefore SP Bala is 100 times better than Rafi who is quite unknown to the larger part of the world.

  Yes.
  Now more I listen to it more I am hooked. Great rendition by SPB. One must see the ease with which he sings that song. Its as effective if not more as Tamil one.
  
  If anybody here onwards say that SPBs Hindi diction sucks then you must first go and write "prathmik", "praveshika","Madhyama" and "Pandit" exams and come.
