6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!
Source :HinduTimes

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

This is what I said:;
"IIR definitely is a mass person and can easily get behind a good movie if he sees one and will surely lift it wayyyyyyyyyyy..... up with his music and BGM. ARR doesn't do that. Now,... don't pounce on me!!"
and, that was my opinion only. I like ARR's music also when i hear one. Especially the period songs he did in IRUVAR are one of my all-time favorites. I have memorized most of them. But, for a theme like IRUVAR which was a controversial and trend-setting movie, the BGM was a total let down and this is where IIR scores with his genius. He can spot a movie that needs trimming to make it beter and he does it so effortlessly. And, that's what is expected of a good MD. ARR is yet to prove that side of his strength. Till then, I am entitled to hold on to my opinion without belittling his song composing skills. Thank you CURSES, for properly understanding my views. Trust me, I am NOT an ARR basher. I have great respect for these two-IIR&ARR and I have said so on variuos occasions.

"just because they speak the facts they don't become Anti-ARR..."
Many of us know it takes time to heal a bruised ego.
We also know where you post your praises!
if you are only against plagiarism as you claim, you won't start a thread "read the great harris interview"
Peace.

KONJAM GOOD NEWS; KONJAM BAD NEWS!
YELLORUM SANTHOSHAMAA IRUNGA!!
Aayitha Ezhuthu` creates records
Friday, 28 May , 2004, 11:40
Mani Ratnam’s Aayitha Ezhuthu may not be palatable to the common man but is creating a new box office record!
At Satyam theatre in Chennai, the highest collecting movie house in South India, Aayitha Ezhuthu has netted an amazing Rs 15,00,300 in 30 shows (including Sat and Sun morning shows). This is a new theatre record for the 1260 seater which reported almost 100 percent collections.
Aayitha Ezhuthu is doing extraordinary business in Coimbatore, Kerala and Bangalore while in the rest of Tamilnadu in B centres like Tanjavur, Tirunelveli and Salem it is sliding. In Kerala, Aayitha Ezhuthu and Yuva combined has netted Rs 31 Lakhs from 13 prints in the first week.
For distributors in Tamilnadu the film may break even as it was sold at a reasonable price to compensate the losses they had incurred in Madras Talkies` earlier film Kannathil Muthamittal. Madras Talkies themselves were distributing the film in Chennai city where the film is expected to do Rs 80 Lakhs to 1 Crore business!
