I mistook you as one of my acquaintances in Trade.com, NJ. BTW, even he's from kerala and owns triton like you do. I gave a call to him and confused him:-))

Thanks for listening. And the feedback.
New sound module! THinking about it for months. Will buy one soon. I can improve the sound with Sound forge processing, which I am doing for my next comp.
Snakes? Naming a composition is a real pain!
And is sometimes more difficult than composing!!
Generally, I try to take one or two metaphors that will create an imagery and expectation in the listener. I was thinking about the Irish influence and snakish melody and my mind came up with this connection....
Welcome Jay. I will listen to your music.

Jay Welcome to the newtfmpage.
Rjay i am still a beginner in my learning stage.
Hopefully will learn and then my music will incorporate more styles and variations like comment is doing. :)
But at the same time I like to take a single theme or emotion and work on it.
BTW Comment composition are getting better and complicated each and every day.
He is qualified as full fledge composer
I am still a kathukutti :)

Comment has once taken time to explain quiet a lot of details on how to emulate Acoustic Instruments on Keyboards... Here goes another discussion link - keep watching the following thread for academic interest.

Friends I came across a solid Chennai Based Rock band called Moksha check their song out,it is very good. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/54/moksha1.html They are the only Indian rock band to be featured in Iron Maiden album They very much remind me of my friends band Revelations started by my friend Ian,Lionel,Divakar and Keith Unfortunately there is no life for Rock bands in India :( sad indeed. People will rather buy a dumb pop song sung by short skirt girls, rock bands are pretty much stuck only to IIT culturals?! Have you guys listened to other indian rock bands like Indus Creed ?

Re: Moksha. What is Indian about this rock music ? I am not surprised or saddened that there is no support for this kind of music. There is nothing in this song, lyric, musical style which appeals to the indian audience.

the female singer does some beautiful controlled rendition (like at vaRaimuRai "illAdha", "vizhigaL" pOdhumE) but there is an accent problem which she might want to work out a little bit. did she ask her name to kept secret for now? is she too one of the DFers?
also was the lyrics written before music? (the words seems to fit more well with the tune than your previous songs.)
MS: i had a totally different imagination of your voice. from what i have heard about your abilities, i am looking forward to a heavier one soon :-)
srikanth: if someone gives me a collection of one hundred songs out of which only one is your, i will be able to pick yours out without fail! you have established a style. this is good, but as i mentioned long time ago, this might sound repetitive soon. i am not able to fix my fingers on what i feel as stylistic repetition, but your runs, the rhythm patterns you use, the sax :-), ... (for ex., listen to the beginning of the second interlude) ... please pay attention to them (just a suggestion). the bells in the charaNams are really cool. so far this song ranks high (next only to find me, have fun and iLangkAlai vELaiyil oru kAdhal rAgam) in my collection of your songs. :-). btw, what happened to your "emotions". did you add it to any your CDs? can you put it on your mp3 page again?

arul ,thanks!...lyrics by BB, like all my writers, ...he comes out with good stuff secondly it is a real time album,
so we (rajag, bb and I) took real pains to match it, finally I want to maintain an identity....so I try my best to be different , also I dont want to empty out all my tricks...before making it big (if at all) :):)
you can hear the clips of all the songs very soon..:))

Comment,
1. The pallavi melody is very good.
2. The saranam melody flows in Ilaiyaraaja's style. Please try to avoid that. I think that we heard enough of that.
3. The orchestration is very good except for the phrase that connects to saranam in the 2nd interlude.
Have to work more in the melody to make it sound different.

First time, real hard rock feel in a Tamil Song. Great fusion! The pallavi singing is very unusual and catchy. A sure hit! Keep it up!
Jay
I listened to your composition. You have mastered the art of building up the song and seem to be very adept in techno and ambient (especially the use of synth sounds). The mood is very well maintained through the piece and it is very crisp! Good talent, keep it up.. Best wishes.
MS, RajaG, Balaji,
Great job!

bb: just now i noticed that you had written "avaL viral koNdu enaith thoda vizigaLil panith thuLi". you have guts to write vizhigaLil (intha ANAthikkach chamUgaththil oru ANin vizhiyil paniththuLi? :-) ). (to make it a little "exciting" try substituting vizhigaLil with idhaizhgaLil :-)) ).

Sriki, RajaG, MS, bb - simply superb performance... excellent score and great work by the singers and lyricist... felt like ARR and IR worked together on this piece...(appadi podu!) great sax and wonderful tempo... sounds like an enthu crew performing on stage!!!!!
Keep up the good work and all the very best to all of you... looking forward to more such numbers from MS whose voice is different! (a combo of Kamalhassan and ARR??!!)

Sriks, I know it is going to be impossible for you to please everyone, but the saranam (w/ ref. to K.Narayanan's post) was the number one reason why I liked your song :-) I felt you had managed to get that crispness that IR has been missing of late, and at the same time get a flow which ARR has been missing always :-)

IR, comparing MS to Kamal and ARR is not exactly a compliment to MS :) They are both very mediocre singers (as is Ilaiyaraja, before ARR fans pounce on me). I felt MS sounded a bit like Shankar Mahadevan in this song.

:-) srinath - when you are around - any compliment would get twisted and misinterpreted :-) am sure MS would get the message the way it was intended ;)

on: Fri Jun 15 12:12:19 EDT 2001
Aw, rajaG, every other stage singer I've heard has sung Inji Iduppazhagi better than Kamal. Kamal is a very mediocre singer (by professional standards) and the songs he has sung are proof enough.
IR, I did not twist or misinterpret your compliment. I felt your compliment fell a little short, that's all :-)
- From: IR (@ 38.220.167.200)

hayyo appa sri - unga kaal enga :-) I meant to say MS delivered the required "roughness" in his voice for that song - his voice is generally softer than that!
