  I totally agree with you, my post lost all the sarcasm over the internet. I was referring to the "classy", elitist crowds attending a Mahler symphony so long as it is performed by a "foreigner". It doesnt have to be mahler, it could be "baba black sheep" for all they care.
  
  I wouldnt even dare to compare a so-so like yanni with IR.

  IR tried this once in TFM (the intermixing of two languages with translation of the first piece coming in the second language) - I know of "Thendralai kandu kolla..." from Nilave Mugam Kattu (2nd interlude). Are there other songs like these? This piece comes for about 1 minute - in TiS, it's sustained for 20 minutes?
  
  This is really exciting - just bite your teeth for one more month :)
  
  Sankar - do you have any news on the formats in which this release is going to be in? I'll also wait for your personal experiences - please post that one soon :)

  Wishing all a Happy Diwali, not a regular Diwali, A memorable one in our life times for this gift of TbI by none other than our Maestro.
  The joy of elation in me after reading Dr.SK's update , Stephen shwartz's great personal experience and response can not be explained by words, I just couldn't stay without calling Dr. SK personally to wish our heartful thanks on everybody's behalf, for his and the entire TiS team's efforts against all odds and their personal committments.
  Kudos to them again and especially to Fr. Jegath.
  Another perfect example of success with faith, belief and hardwork.
  
  I requested Dr SK to come out with a book
  " Making of TiB" at a leisure time, because there have been a number of pleasant experiences and difficult times faced by these group of selfless people who have made this great treasure a reality and I personally feel everybody should know all those "swarasyamana" samacharangal and instances where these people had to worry about only "Tis" and nothing else in their life.

  I am not a guy who knows about marketing, there are more qualified people and who know better, but I still feel we should focus more on Indian population, especially in tamil and non tamil speaking states.
  
  I read one Mr. Karthik in yahoo group of maestro mentioning about commitment to buy thro' pre relaese ordering thro' a well organised distribution portal by TiS team which is very good,
  I personally have pledged myself to buy 25 CDs
  (once made available)and give them to close friends and colleagues of different nationalities an addition to my close relatives.
  
  A small digression
  
  It was interesting to read some of ur opinions, not to mix up religion based promos/bias in marketing, I agree totally, but in reality atleast IMHO, I have always wondered and questioned how did the great classical composers ( western) compostions have sustained and reaching more people with time from year 1700's and beyond globally and one thing easily strikes me all the time is the relationship of religion (churches) especially in keeping them alive in addition to the sheer power of the compositions themselves.

  What kind of nonsense is this? A project as immense as this coming to stoppages like this at a mere value of $2K. Seriously it is too hard to imagine and digest. For someone from this forum to come up with this value and then to have the tapes delivered is even harder to digest. Come on SSSSAV who are you taking for a ride here.   I would like to recall all your attention to the fact that this "CHI-CHI" was the same gentleman who bashed Fr. over the sea-shore hotel and monkeys report in S'pore[ which was proved beyond doubut] and is again showing his 'chi-chi' colors. GOD give him peace! Pl. do not waste your posts on him!
  BTW, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to all those who called me and sent mails yesterday and I am glad to inform you thru this valuable forum that the issue has since been resolved and the entire money is being despatched to Sony by today and the tapes will be on its way by Priority Courier to IIR by the end of the day! THANK YOU ALL!!!
  I wish to acknowkedge at this juncture of the indisputable fact that TFMPAGES has been a very important part in the success of TiS[TbI] and its role in creating the awareness and interest is immeasurable! HATS OFF TO TFM PAGES AND ITS WONDERFUL CONTRIBUTORS!! THANK YOU RR & BB !!
  If ever I decide to write a book on TiS, TFM Pages will feature in a seperate chapter, I promise!!

  your reference to the audio being sent in tapes, does it mean that they are still using tapes for recording such a massive project? Shouldn't it be in some DVD audio format or so?
