Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.
I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

Hi Ehsaan,
Thanks for your reply. My next question is:
When you compose a song, do you, in general, have any idea how the song will be picturised? I have seen many times in Hindi films that a wonderful song is spoiled because of bad picturisation.

Hi Ehsaan,
Are AR Rehman and Udit Narayan singing in anyone of your future films? Rehman´s voice is not nice in the real sense of the term, but it has good magic and echo effect. I liked his song ¨Dil Se¨ very much for this echo effect.
I also like Udit Narayan for his happy and motivating songs. It will be great if he features in your future films.

Ehsaan
saw KHNH yesterday.
Brilliant work...
especially in the hospital scene, just using the heart beat was really neat...
all the songs seemed to fit so perfectly in the movie..

Eshaan
I am back in this forum after a long time. Quick quesstion , KHNH was getting excellent reviews . Suddenly from today I can see some reports which says KHNH is not doing so well as we thought. It is doing well in US , UK, Delhi and big cities only. Do you think excellent reviews actually made the people go with hig expectations and thus getting dissapointed?
also in those excellent reviews , most of them said your songs are good . Mahi Re was picturized very well. But many said not all songs are good. Is this a concern for you?
thanks
somuda

reviews dont affect us at all somu one has to disconnect from those. the film was never expected to do well in smaller centres like bihar and u.p because it is primarily an urban film pretty much the way dil chahta hai.
i used to get very affected by reviews but now they mean nothing .................. the reviews are entirely subjective by people who somehow do not know much .

Eshan,
I saw the movie last week end. Movie was good. After a long time, I could sit through a hindi movie. Sitting in a corner seat, that was a great thing.
The songs are good. I did not listen to the songs before, and it made an immeidate impact
on me. The songs 'Pretty women' , 'title song' and the 'last marriage' are awesome.
I liked the BGM, refreshing and stood out from the usual hindi movies BGM 'play the songs in various insstruments' technique.
Did you get a free hand in composing songs and BGM for this movie?.
Cause, the music did not have any usual influences, you normally hear in any Yash Raj movies. That is a good thing.
My best wishes for you and your team to associate with movies like this in the future!.

hello mr.ehsaan,
I was listening to kal ho na ho's title song yesterday. I feel the title song is more of a jatin-lalit melody with an SEL sound. i mean, i find dil chahtha hai way more interesting than KHNH's title song. I juz feel that the director would have asked you to compose a 'kuch kuch hota hai' kinda melody/theme song, that made you compose one of this kind. NO DOUBT, it is GR8...but it juz looks like a jatin-lalit melody with an sel sound. your comments??????

one more request. I would like you to do more raaga based songs....you guys have done such stuff before, like rindposhmaal, set to raag kalyani and dhuan dhuan, as well. just that i would like to hear more.....even in a modern-youth movie. plz hear this latest song from rahman, : http://www.raaga.com/channels/tamil/movie/T0000547.html
and click on the song 'Yedho Yedho'. It is set to raag Charukesi, yet it is very interesting and energetic. and the movie happens to be a youthful one, ive heard. you guyz have great potential....i'm sure, you can make much better ones.
Thanx

hi dilwala the picturisation is completely up to the director , we really have no control but very often we have the director know that we thought the picturisation was bad.
hi hype the songs were created with the director and with karan johar and we were given a free hand with creativity but within the confines of the script.
hi selrocks i dont think i would call that a jatin lalit type melody its just a very simple catchy melody , this tune came spontaneously with no pre concieved notions.

hi ehsaan...
truly amazing to see you guyz blend so well with the movie. The soundtrack was never loud nor the re-recording was out of place. I think thats a very good thing to look forward to in a movie...
congrats on the job well done.....
one comment though.. thought the title track was good... it did not have your trademark !!!...
i think the song i still keep humming when i am love or pain would be tanhayee.. from dch....
THERE WAS SO MUCH PASSION IN THE SONG ... SIMPLE OUT OF THE WORLD..
love to hear those kinds of songs.. just break the rules !!!
good job !!!
