  There was an interesting piece of news item some time back as to, how the healthy trend of releasing movies during the Independence Day-week has slowly come to a halt and actors are craving for religious holiday time for their releases.

  I am yet to see VR;but i feel that the script/character requires a dumb dada and SD fitted like Baywatch bikini.
  
  Kamal is outstanding in most of the roles he does but this one i feel the hero should have a below-normal IQ.Kamal's face is too sophiticated to play the required Dada.Lets see.

  It is the other way around. Madhurey and 7GRC were supposed to be released for the indepedence day weekend. But due to VR, the producers postponed them.. Doing good at Satyam: Films doing good only in chennai is true for many films nowadays.. Even New which was declared a hit has been taken off from the theaters in other areas 10 days back.. But due to low budget (except simran, kiran and MD's fees), it should have done average business overall. Only two films, Autograph and Gillie have done amazing business all over tamilnadu this year so far.

  I accept with u Nattamai on the release date. If u see the pattern in the last 4-6 years all the films have been released only on big occasions. Here's a list....

  I remember reading somewhere a long time back that Kamal's father Srinivasan had a close friend called Hassan who died in the independence struggle. so he named all his sons Hassan - Charu, Chandra, and Kamala

  It's true that MGR died while watching Revathi act-she was so brilliant that MGR felt ashamed that despite being a senior to her&having acted in more number of films, his acting was not even 0.5% of her's.So that deep sense of shame led to a heart attack&he died.
