...Gemini Studios, which paid Chopra over Rs 1 crore for the remake rights with 20 per cent of the profit and script veto powers, will launch the Tamil version with Kamal Haasan on May 15.   I think Kamal looks awsome, he looks too good for his age, when kamal was a teenager, he was never handsome, in the early - mid seventies, he has funny looking face shape, but from the 80s till now , no body beats his looks, well perhaps Aravinda samy, Raghuvaran (1986-2000) and the younger Karthick!

  V.MBBS is doing fine only in Satyam, other cinema's are not even 1/2 full! and not many well known films are realeased during the same period as V.MBBS, great tactics by kamal :)
  
  If a Vikram / Vijay /Surya film releases at the same time, it would be a different story, it (V.MBBS) would be history, if Jaggubhai was released at the same time :), Kamal uses his tactics well :)

  I have nothing against Kamalji or any other actors, it does not matter when he planned to release it, he would have probably known that not many films are being released during August.
  
  And, can you please tell me any other big stars (Vikram, Vijay, Surya, and Ajith) films are being or were released in August or at least July, or anything scheduled release in September, I can not think of any, well pls do correct me, if I am wrong :)

  Well, i cant think of ne big starrer movies in August either. So what's the point?
  
  It's time the film industry gets smarter..
  instead of releasing "big movies" (as u put it..) at the same time and spoiling each others box office records by eating into each other's collections, they might as well space out the releases, and enjoy a longer run in the theatres. Works out best for everybody in the end.
  It isnt about guts or hype.. it's about intelligence and marketing ur product well. Kamal's done it brilliantly.

  The crew of VasoolRaja MBBS had a plan, a budget, and a tight schedule.. and they made sure they stuck to it. I still dont get what the fuss is about! :)

  well other so called Big stars , started work on lengthy Projects (Vikram - Aniyan, Vijay - Madura)
  so they would not have time to release on the same time.
  
  besides Vasool is Vasooling,that's what matters, I wonder if Kamal would dare to release a movie on the same date as a Super* movie :))

  For ur kind info,'Madhura'was scheduled to be released on Aug 13th,it was pushed back to 27th so that there will be no clash with VR MBBS.Also as curses pointed out when VR was started the release date was announced as Aug12th&you should give credit that a movie could be made&released in less than 3 months.I also don't understand this hype about releasing movies on the same day,it only eats into the collections of each other.It's always better to be intelligent than indulge in false bravado.ultimately a film should make money for the producer/exhibitor/distributor.period.

  A lot of tams (especially the ones in Mum- delhi who say "i donno taaamiilll ") preferred the hindi version to VR
  
  the reason : they were used to slap stick David dhawan comedy, Johny lever's paenda muzhi comedy, mehmood's take-a-dig-at-southies comedy till Munnabhai was released. that way Munnabhai being their first exposure to dialogue oriented comedy in Hindi.. and they think its the BEST COMEDY FILM in hindi... so when they see VR, 1) they come with a pre-conceived idea that it CANT be better than munnabhai and 2)they dont understand crazy's super dialogues coz you gotta be an out and out tamizh film freak to appreciate crazy's kalakkal comedy.

  Kamalji will not time the release of his movies to that of Rajniji, because Rajniji waits three years and comes out with mivies like Babaji.
  
  You wax so eloquently about Jagguji, do you know the release date?
  
  Kamalji announces release dates when he announces the launch of his movies.
  
  It's funny that you would say Madura is a long term project? Is it a period piece? Is it going to be a fx extravagenza like Anniyan?
  
  What's the reason for Madura being a long term project? Can you shed some light on this? I'm dying to know.
