Is ARR Running out of Stuff?

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

I listened to VandeMatharam in which ARR recycled his own tunes from Kizhakku Ceemayile and a touch of a song from Indira.
Also ARR's recent movies for big time producers like Ratchagan and Iruvar (except one song) and Dhoud in Hindi did not have any notable music. Remember ARRs last hit Minsarak Kanavu music was done long time ago.

If for a major album for Sony released on 50th year of Indian Independence, ARR cannot produce original music, then I have to come to the conclusion that he is running out of stuff. I heard that ARR is planning to cut down on movies and concentrate more on albums. Thus he will have to produce less and earn more.

Right now I do not see any difference in the quality of music produced by ARR and Karthik Raja. In fact I think Deva is doing a better job of providing consistant good quality music.

  U forgot one more standard Mr.Kuzhapam, howl worse than a fox instead of BGM. Thats today's BGM. Thank God for small mercies, still we have IR.

  Romba nalla kaetteenga. Nachunnu kaetteenga. I agree that BGM alone is not music. but where does ARR stand in BGM? He has to improve a lot in that area sir. What is that "something" you are referring to in 'something more than bgm'? You mean, songs according to situation? - Well, Raja scores there. Choice of singers? - Well, Raja scores there also. Raja has done almost everything in TFM. ARR is a talented MD. He still has a long way to go. Let's see if he reaches the legendary status of IR. I sincerely hope and wish him all success.

  these guys will not accept ARR song, atleast IR should produce hits -- he fails --
  
  Dam .. I ready to hear IR if he is able produce good numbers - please dont give me - guru, desiya geetham -- no one other than people in DF have heard of those songs. If you say Desiya geetham as good -- with out any doubt I would say thaiya thaiya is a master piece.
  
  Some of you will now come up with IR produced great numbers in past so he is great - our Srikant would say MSV is the best since he also produced and was able impress the masses during his time.

  So, you admit you can't 'fight' your cause(namely proving Raja is nothing)? Why cant you? Because that is utter rot..because you cant prove falsehood.
  
  So, you have heard Bach, Mozart etc. Then, why dont you publish a theses on how Raja plagiarised from them?
  If irritating IR-fans was your motive, well, well, I would advise you sincerely that you better not pursue such a course. I, for one, can irritate ARR-fans, at the cost of sounding pompous, with 300% intensity. And I am only one, single solitary person:). There are better practitioners of this art of ARR-bashing , ARR-Fan-irritating etc. And then where will we all be?
  It is better to stick to facts, truth and logic, what do you say?

  Mr.Raj -- I have not posted anything indecent or bad or poor langauge....
  just dont use your the super smartness to restrict me, all my answers are concering the earlier question. my english might not be as good as you, You do not have the right to restrict me, I mean what I say.
  
  I just gave back 25% of what IR fans been doing here since the forum started. Thangala illai --->
  kovam vardhu illa --- same happens to a average ARR fan - when people without reason called VM and many other ARR's work as a piece of crap...
  Write to IR and ask him to produce one all india hit this year --- instead of curing others.

Your accusation that people call VM(Where did he come into the picture?) and ARR withou reason doesnt hold w.r.t me. Dont tell this to me,atleast.
  
  
  What we maintain is that ARR is not a genius , for all his success. Raja IS. There ends the matter. If you have problems accepting it, well, great, I have no opinion on that.
  
  Certainly, by all means, say what you want to say. I have no right and never restricted you from saying whatyou wish. I was only suggesting and I took pains to clarify this in the last post itself. Still, you complain:)

  Maybe, that "curing" was a spelling mistake . Bu t I am inclined to think that you are implying that Raja should stop trying to "cure" the masses from their affliction of the brain,which is leading them to hear foot-tapping crap and instead, give them one big whacking rahman-ishtyle "hit" on the back of the head...putting end to their miserable disease(of addiction to "music(K)") once and for all...sari thaana?:)

IR maadhiri periya aaLungalum sila samayangaLil producers aasaikku yetrapadi sila paadalgaL ('nethu raathiri', 'paLLikoodam pogalaama', to name a few) thandurukkaanga. At the same time, after IR attained a level, he started composing for his own satisfaction that also satisfied people. Even at that time, he gave one or two such songs to satisfy some part of the audience who are interested in listening to 'nethu raathiri' type songs. But, what he gave was mostly masterpieces. ARR has also given good songs and that is what I wanted to say. He has given some junk songs also, no doubt. ARR makkaLukku pidithadha kodukkuraar. He gives good songs also. Ore adiya avar ice cream mattum kodukkalayae? Nalladhayum kodukkuraar appadinnu dhaan naan sonnaen. Aanal, sila samayam ice creamum namakku thevai paduthu illayaa? Plus, makkaLukku pidichadha pidicha maadhiri kodukkaradhum oru kalai dhaanae? Adhanaala dhan ARRa naan kalaignanu sonnaen.
