  Kaumudi, apart from Anarkali, PS with Rafi in few other telugu movies. One such movie had a duet in re-use of "vaadha karuley saajanaa". Susheela replaced Lata in the telugu version. It was really great to hear that humming in PS's style. I heard it many times in vividh bharthi between 4.30pm - 5.30pm.
  
  Kindly confirm with some details of the song, movie, actors/actress etc. TIA :-)

  One more request.
  
  I heard that telugu version of "Ezhu swarangalukkuL ethanai paadal" was sung by PS, may not be the exact copy of the original tamil version. Is it true?
  
  If yes, Can you please provide us the details (film, actress, Md, how PS rendered that). Of course, pls give us the link for the song.

  There is a song similar to Ezhu swarangal in Telugu. It is from the movie Thoorpu Padamara. Here is the link - http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/l/XY00000J0E
  
  Look for the song Swaramulu by PS. It is a good song by Ramesh Naidu, but follows very closely the original although not an identical copy. Also another song from that same movie sung by PS and Kovela Santha is also a copy of another original song from the same Balachandar movie in tamil.

  Subbu - I have the casette of the movie "Thoorpu Padamara". You can take it from me, if you want. (by the by - I also stay in Bangalore). Can you share the song "Ezhu swarangalukkuL ethanai paadal" with me? I don't have the same with me.
  
  Kalai/Kaumudi - "Akbar Salim Anarkali" has one moer good song "Reyi Agiponi Repu Agiponi Eee Prema vahini ila saagiponi..." Very good song indeed.

  Thoorpu padamara was the remake of "Aboorva raagangal". Srividya did the same role and Narasimharaju did Kamal's role. Others i think were Madhavi for Jayasudha and Mohanbabu for Rajini. The movie was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.

  Can anyone please try for the song "vaadiyamma ponmagaley vandha idam nalla idam... raNi magal medhaiyadi vavavavava", sung by PS + SPB, a classic one from paalooti vaLartha kiLi (MD: IR). Though this was not so famous, the song was composed in a different style and PS sings this fast-beat song efforlessly (vavavavava).

  Madhavi's first movie is not MC - she was already a very popular actress by that time. MC was Saritha's first film (and first telugu film).

  Kaumudi: If its the LM-Rafi duet you are referring to, then its from Haath Ki Safai. This is a really good song by Kalyanji-Anandji, esp. compared to some of the really ordinary scores they gave in the 70s. It would be interesting to hear the Telugu tune (Okay, I hope this time the Telugu version is the copied one, and not the Hindi one ;-) - for a change at least :-))
  
  BTW, the Telugu version of Ezhu Swarangalukkul that we have been discussing sounds really really different. Indeed, its a completely different, separate song.

  Kaumudi, 'haath ki safai' was remade in tamil as 'savaal'(kamal,sripriya,lakshmi and jaishankar). Tamil version of 'vaadha kar le' was picturised on Lakshmi and Jai(in hindi it was simi and vinodh kanna) and it was sung by PS and SPB(I guess).

  Kaumudi, Yeah as 'av' said it was Haath ki safai acted by Randir Kapoor and Hema malini (I think so). The telugu version was a copied one, but very well rendered by the singers Rafi and PS (her humming was superb). I wanted to know the film, cast, MD etc just for records.
  
  Ramki, I remember the duet by PS-SPB from Savaal was "Theriyum theriyum vishayam theriyum kaalam vandhaal kanidhu kai serum". To me, it was a "ok" sort of song. MSV used some 'bottle opening' sounds in between, which was .... no comments :-) I don't think there was a duet for Lakshmi and Jai in that movie.

  Kalai and others, i have been looking for a beautiful Malayalam song sung by Susheela. The song was picturised on Shobana. Its a sad song and its about Lord Rama.
  Unfortunately i do not have any more info..i once watched this song a decade ago on DD channel 2 but couldnt get the name of the film.

  Update on asianet programme (sangeetha sagaram)
  Asianet shared an information about her in the beginning of the programme..
  “ V.Dakshimoorthy who brought her to Malayalam with the unforgettable lullaby for malayalees “paatu paadi urakkam njan thamara poom paithalE. It is difficult to pronounce few letters in Malayalam and which is very tough for non-malayalees. Specifically different “ra” , “Ra”, “na” or “Na”. Being a telugite she faced tough time with her first song itself which had the bigger “Ra” in the first line(uRakkam) and the other “ra” in the second line “thamara”. ( tamil also has this letters). As she tried to do it perfect, she strained herself lot and bleeding started from her tounge. (they praised like, “ such a big sacrifice (veliya thyagam) she has done for our language” ) At last, she decided to leave malyalam songs. but, Dakshinamoorthy encouraged her and brought the best lullaby for malayalees”. They also praised like “even a malayalee cant bring that kind of perfect pronunciation “. One more word they have used “ellarum ammayai kAnnunaa (everyone see her as a motherly figure.
  Why our music directors not bringing this perfection now a days ? many new singers are killing the language. PS is telling that, “ immediately I can understand the song. But I practice a lot. Casually she is telling “25 times”, “30 times”. From her spoken tamil, Malayalam or kannda we can recognize that she is very poor in languages. But, she brought perfection in her songs. As she told, “it could have been possible with practice”. Is it a fault of MD’s or singers ?
  yesterday four songs were telecasted and PS herself sing one song “bindhu nee Anandha bindhuvO” from the movie “ChandanaChola”
  2. The interviewer (singer venu gopal) asked, “a classical, or a romanic song or a club dance , song is coming from the same vioce. “how U are managing ?” . She replied “it’s Gods grace”. She told “some people cant sing in base voice, only air comes”. And she started singing “Katril iLam kAtril ozhugi varum gAnam” in a highpitch first and then she was singing in the base voice. A wonderful song which was picturised with KRV.

  3. The third song was “Ezhilam pAla poothu” which is a duet with KJY .(The same tune is used in the movie “Malai nAtu mangai” as “NeelamAm kadal alayil kolamidum meeninangal thulluvathenna).very soothing melody.
