excellent songs in dud movies

How many times you have gone to the picture hall got thoroughly bored by the flick & suddenly an excellent song comes along ( in most cases horribly picturised ) It left you wondering what is this song doing in a movie like this. Conversely you liked a song very much that you went to see the movie with the same result.
For starters I have given half a dozen.
1.gangai nadhi oram Raman nadanthan ( varaprasadham. Vijay Kumar , jay chitra horror)
2.meen kodi theril manmatha rajan (Karumbu vil. why was this movie made beats me)
3 engum niraindha iyarkayil enna sugamo ( idhu eppadi irukku. dandama irrukku. based on sujatha's Anitha ilam manaivi. it was averitable kotthu kari. *g jai & sridevi)
4.Vaanavillinul varna jaalangal ( Naan naane than *g P Madhavan's son Aamam nee neeye than en velliya vanthe)
5.Unakkenna mele ninrai ( Simla special what was special was this was a tragic comedy. Sv sekar irrunthum ...oru sirippu kood illai)
6.Malargale malargale (Love birds. pyramid natarjan & P Vasukku than velicham indha padathin nokkam enna enru)
I can think of other movies. the criteria is that the movie should suck ( of course mostly the movies would have bombed but there may be exceptions)
I don't want people to come & post simla Special Ariyaluril 20 Naal Pocchu enru. The movie sucked big time ( more so as it was from Mukta movies)

  ROTFL,I hope you were serious with the above posting and not think I have made the same 'mistake'I made with the great contribution thread.
  I have seen these movies and I was in India when these movies were released.so i know what I am typing.Nizhalgal-have you seen the movie?I suggest you do that.If you like the movie after seeing it,well mate,good luck!
  Thazhuvadha kaigal was one of the biggest flops in that deepavali release.
  Naanum oru thozhilali songs were big hit when they came out-the movie ran into problems with financiers and was released after a v..ery long time-and was in theatre for less than 2 weeks.
  sangamam-I could not see the movie even on a borrowed video-that is one of the movies which Ihave the good fortune not to sit through.You liked sanagamam?now,You ARE in a confused state of mind.
  VJ,it is one of the 2 songs kamal sang for nother actor.Do you know which is the other one?

  Dead serious. A flop is not neccessarily = to a dud.

  yaaro - yes, "Ponmaanaai Theduthey" is by Kamal, and if iam correct there are more than 2 songs by Kamal for other actors -one song in Ullasam for Ajit.... and there is this movie "Saranam Aiyappa" - this had "Annan vaada, thambi vaada" sung by kamal..... "Gyairu ozhi mazhaiyil" - this song by kamal - did it have kamal as actor as well ?

  As Sabesan said, I am sure that 'Ponmaanai' is sung by Kamal. He sang it with a fantastic voice control. It expresses how a male would sing when he longs and seeks for his love with mild (very mild) romantic pain in his heart.
  
  If you already haven't heared it or rarely heared it, try it. It is one of my all time favourites.

  Nizhalgal flopped-just grab a cassette and sit thru the movie.then please tell us what you think about the movie.
  You seem to be in a permanent state of confusion-what is the matter?:-)

  "chinna pura onru..." from anbe sangeetha.

  Thiruda Thiruda and Vikram are examples of movies that bombed largely because our audience was not ready to receive them. IMO Thiruda Thiruda was one of the best masala movies in a long time.   i tend to agree with RajaG, Thiruda thiruda with a bit of editing in the second half would have been a benchmark masala movie. evennow it has the best picturised erotic no in" Thee thee". the song is sexy without being obscene.( Did you know that Ram Gopal Verma is the co author of the script alongwith mani rathnam. he (RGV) again made two movies with the same script Kshanam kshanam in telugu & Daud in Hindi( these are a genre of movies common in Hollywood known as Road movies)

  Meera (Aishwarya and Vikram starrer -- Directed by PC sriram), could be an another example.
  
  Pudhu rottula dhaan and oh! butterfly are very good songs from this movie, esp the later fits to this thread.
  
  I didn't like a-z of the movie. Many said so, general opinion. Film flopped due to this reason.

  If you see I have not put movies like pagal nilavu(I have mentioned it in context of orchestration only)-it was a good movie and all the magazines liked it.commercially it faile.
  again mouna raagam-excellent movie-good reviews-ran for ?3 weeks in coimbatore?supposed to be one of the 2 places in TN where sophisticated movies have a good run.
  if yo take the case of Nizhalgal,Thiruda Thiruda,Meera(another excellent eg)-got trashed all around by magazines,public .

  cbe is supposed to be a city in which if a movie runs for 3 weeks maximum, it'll run for 100+ days all over the other places...:-D...

  I have not mentioned movies like Iruvar-which I liked .I saw thw film in the first day.You should have listened to the booing and catcalls.If that happens in the first day-that movie is going to be a disaster.
  nizhalgal-cursed on many fronts.robert (or Rajasekar)who was the hero,slow script,had the misfortune to be relesed in same day as varumaiyin niram sigappu-which was one of the biggest hits of that year.another eg is nadodi thenral-excellent music,one of the best BGM's ever from IR.but it bombed.
  Thiruda had the misfortune of a totally misfit heera(for that role as a village belle),comedy lines falling flat,long story(i think MR was tryin to ape kshana kshanam-telugu-which was the biggest hit in AP that year)too much running around for too long made the viewers tire quickly.
  Nadodi thenral,Thiruda T,Meera -all had the same fault .They were all egs of good photography in beautiful locales masquerading as good cinema(this sounds very nice-but I must confess I have borrowed it from Aside magazine's review for Nadodi thenral)
  I have reasonable assumptions about TFM dfers level of rasanai.And I'm sure,you wouldnt want to dine on rubbish because it is served with all the glitz with a knife fork and spoon in a five star hotel,because it comes from MR or Bharathiraja or sreeram!

  vengayam,Kshna kshanam was releaased before TT.I am 100 pc sure.It is not the other way about.
