Vairamuthi on KJY in his "indha kuLathil kal eRinthavargaL"

Vairumthu says - When Tamilians themselves pronounce Thamizh as "Thamil" there is no surprise when a man from different language pronounces thamizh badly.

When it has been written as "Thirukoyilae" they (KJY) sing it as "Therukoyilae" - kanadhasan had condemned KJY for which KJY had replied "the poet could have corrected me during the recording".

Vairamuthu says " Whether kanadhasan had taken the right given by KJY or not i took it. But i came to understand lately that KJY could'nt digest this.How much i loved KJY's voice at the same time i was also stern that his pronounciation should also be good. It is like a husband standing outside the maternity ward where his worries are both the mother as well the child should'nt die. My worries are like that... For such a big Sangeetha Methai - could'nt digest this small thing. He thought correcting him was more like troubling(varuthuvathai pol) him..

On the recording studio we shake our hands as roses but when we depart we find blood strains in our hands (olipathivu koodathil ovoru muRaiyum rojakaLAi thaan kaikuluki koLkiRom - kulukia kaikaL pirigiRa pothu kaiyil rathamae kasigirathu)

Vairamuthu says he had to correct KJY on lot of occassions - examples are "thaneeril mooLgathu kAtRuLA banthu" in "eeraman rojave", "muthal ezhuthu thAi mozhiyil thalai ezhuthu yAr mozhiyil" in "veLai puRa onRu.."

More he says "We 've to reconsider 'a'garam is sigaram for thamzih. 'a'garam is only assthivaram for thamizh. 'zha'garam thaan thamizhukku sigaram"

He says " Once MSV was correcting KJY very often in a recording. When they were doing so - and when MSV said 'Ready Take' they did'nt find KJY inside the recording room!! he was on the road in his car!!!!"

Very recently KJY was singing "Aan azhuvathu pizhaiyanathu.penn azhuvathu kalaiyanathu" - as usual there was trouble in 'zha'garam. I corrected him. But KJY became very hot!KJY asked "Will u(Vairamuthu)be correcting till death ?" I asked back "Till whose death" KJY replied "Till both of us die". I replied back saying "No. till thamizh does'nt die". I retured back home without telling him.

  Even kamalhasan had this problem. Panner pushbankale... But he sings 'ngale'(malayalam), seems that he had been acting in malayalam that time.

  Let us set aside the issue with KJY - we'll move on to VM on Kannandhasan (KN).
  
  Vairamuthu says 'In my younger days(kAl sattai nAtkaLil) i was influenced by two - One was kalaignar - he introduced thamizh to me - the other was kaviarasu kanadhasan - he introduced kavithai(inthukku englishla ennappa?)to me'
  
  he continues 'He was a guide for how a word (sol) should be used in a poem(kavithai) as well as how a man should'nt be in his life'
  
  Kavithai has two beauties - one is what to say and the other is how
  to say. I have differences with KN in 'what to say' but not even a little bit in 'how to say'.
  
  Like playing goli with nila, KN used to come so easy with difficult things
  - there was no one to match him on this (nilvai pidithu goli viLaiyAduvathu mathiri ariya visayangaLai alatchiyamaga solvathaRku avarai vittal aaLilai.
  
  "pennai aadai kattip parthal kalai;
  nirvaNamay parthal kavithai;
  piNamaga parthal thathuvam" - gold was seen even in what he splits.
  
  "thaRkolai seythu koLLa virumbugiRavan
  than kazhuthil oru mudichu pOttu kolkiRan
  allathu erandu peNkaLin kazhuthil aaru mudichu podugiRan"
  - serika mudiyatha visayangali kooda sirikka mudinthavaaru solla therindavar avar thaan.
  
  Everyone changed only the dresses (udai) of filmsongs but KN was the one
  who even changed the parts(uRuppu) of filmsongs.Simplicity in Literature,
  Literature in Simplicity - both were possible only by him.
  
  In one instance KN had written the pallavi "Odam nathiyinilae oruthi mattum karaiyinilae".After hearing the song KN had said "I had made a mistake!" "Odam nathiyinilae oruthi mattum karaiyinilae" - this is just a sentence, if it had been "Odam nathi vazhiyae oruthi mattum vithi vazhiyae" - it would have been more poetic.VM says KN is a kind of poet who even thinks about a song after a fullstop had been put to it.
  
  
  VM says he has many things about the poet which he can't forget -
  one among them was the joke which KN made during the recording of Tik Tik Tik - KN commented "antha oothuvathia aNaichidungappa,pombalayum poovumthavira ellamae enakku alarJi aayiduchu"
  
  To end his writing on KN, VM says KN wanted people to love(Naesithathu)him as the way he loved them. "enGe ellarum enakkaga azhungal! paavigalae ungalukku azha kooda theriya villaiye...ungalai nambi eppadi saavadhu?"
  KN commented the above lines provokely and satirically.
  
  But there were one crore pair of eyes which cried truly on his death.
  
  I too cried.
  
  kanneerpettai aagivitta kannamapettai pona piRagum azhuthaen.
  
  Below us gold was burning!
  
  "Naan nirantharamanavan azhivathilai - entha nilaiyilum enakku maranamillai" - if death had listened these lines it would'nt have neared the alltime (nithiyak kavignan) poet. What to do? Death does'nt have ears!
  
  this is all about what VM says on KN.

  Meaning of :
  "kaLavaani gOththiramE
  kaaLai maattu thiRamE ! "
  (which comes in 'thiruppaachi aruvaaLa' song of Mudhalvan)
  
  kaaLai maadu = Bull
  thiRam = a head of 80 sheep / 80 cows and 80 bulls or buffaloes
  
  so, "kaaLai maattu thiRamE" means,
  "hEy ! you ! The leader of 80 bulls !" (no BS)

  Take it easy policy nu pattu ezhutharavanlam ethuku tamizhi pathi pesuran. Yesudas sings from the heart and also modestly accepts that he sings in movies for the sake of money unlike these people who go to any extent for money. Just because he is peaking he cannot afford to speak anything

  I am presenting it the same way as VM presents(Presents in a way as if he is talking to IR). Some phrases i 've given it in thamizh itself - reason being they make more sense or i'm not good in translating it.

  I was sleepless that night - haunted by ur memory mosquitoes(nyabaga kosukaL).
  
  After joining hands with u i experienced many differences within me.

  U only....that "U only" one day sent me a NOTICE (vakeel notice) also.
  I was shakened for a second.
  My heart/soul which was like a white lotus turned into a black carbon paper.
  I thought steadily.
  Only the help u've done to me came to my mind!
  The white days! When i did'nt know even the addresses of cinema companies u used to come
  and pick me at home! I thought that!
  Till i bought my car u used to drive me home! I thought that!
  U've never missed sharing with me the hot milk which comes from ur home - I thought that!
