One of the TFM pages, someone told “ PS sung 148 songs for IR. (proof.:raajangahm.com “). Someone replied “ no, so many songs are missing”. I just started collecting the songs. Very interesting part is “ some good numbers of IR is sung by PS in telugu
“ chinnathayaval thantha raasaave” – dalapathi ( SJ in tamil)
“valayosi kalakalakala ena kavithaigal - sathya (lata mangehkar in tamil)
“naanoru sindhu, kavadi sindhu” - sindhu bhairavi ( chitra in tamil)
“ore naal unai naan nilavil paarthathu”– ilami oonjaladugirathu ( VJ in tamil)
“kanna varuvaya mere ketkiral” -- manthil uruthi vendum (chitra in tamil)
“manjolai kili thano, maan thano” –kizhake poghum rayil
“ithayam poghuthe,enaye pirinthe” – puthiya vaarpugal (jency in tamil)

Excellent post from Saravanan....objective thinking such as that is what we need at this time. And guys, what about the beautiful telugu songs that PS sung under IR's baton (some are mentioned in the title post)...one song which every PS fan should listen to in telugu is "kalayaa nijamaa" from coolie no.1 in which IR himself sang with PS. I don't have words to describe the beauty of the song and the way PS sang it.

To all PS fans, PS is the no. 1 female singer in Telugu till 1990-1991. The monopoly was continuing from 1950s to 1990s. For 40 years - this is something nobody can claim to have achieved. And, she has won two consecutive National Awards in 1980s, the period where IR is reigning supreme. PS has not come down in anyway by not getting more chances to sing under IR.
If anybody listens to "rasathi xxxx" from "Vaidehi ...." in Tamil and the Telugu equivalant "Jabilli Kosam...." by SJ, people will know why PS is great.

hey there were 2 TMS+PS duets in Nalladhoru kudumbam. One is "sindhu nadhi karai Oram andhi nearm". Another one????? In that PS sung only one paa.. anyone can recollect the startinng line...?

Can you findout the tel version of these songs?

Subbu, I think the Nallathoru Kudumbam song is Kanna un leela vinodam, though I'm not sure.

Kalai, I didn't know that you had compiled 192 PS-Illayaraja songs. Only after seeing your recent post, I went back and saw it. Wow-great effort!
Some points:
1. You have mentioned 2 PS songs from Saatchi- 5 and 166. Saatchi had music by Shankar Ganesh.
2.Akka oru rasathi-20- is by Jency, with Jayachandran.
3.Aval oru thaniragam-54 &108- Are you sure it by IR? I don't think so.
4.Manuuketha ponnu-133-MD is Gangaiamaran.
5.Poonthottam-126-Nadiyai thedi vandha kadal is by SP Shailaja.
6.Muthamizh charame-97-Vetrikku oruvan is by SP Shailaja.
7.Muthamma-99-Thanduvitten ennai is by Uma Ramanan
8.Vada malliye-175-Kannukku mai ezhuthu is by Banumathi and BSS. Is there a PS version as well?
9. Is there a song called Ponnoviam in Annai or alayam?-125
10. Is there a song by PS in Murattu kaalai?-191
11.Some repetitions: 8 & 10, 24 & 32,106 & 110,107 & 112,124 & 138.
12.You can add Naan oru ponnoviam- Kannil theriyum kathaigal, and of course, the other songs which you have mentioned recently. Also please include Kanna un leela vinodam from Nallathoru kudumbam.

I have tried hard in the past couple of days to find out the telugu version of songs of mundaanai mudichu, nandhini and the song sanga thamizh kaviyae, but in vain. Especially the song "sanga thamizh", I know I've heard the telugu version in PS's voice, just can't recollect which movie it is from. Sorry about that.
But the good news is, I have a couple more songs to add to the list of telugu songs.
1. Thaene kanna theeyanidi....Rajkumar....PS and SPB
2. Naa raagamae tholi paatai paadaenae....Mounageetham....PS
3. Manasae vellenae...Kottha jeevithaalu...PS
4. Adigaave akkada...Bhadrakaali....PS
5. Aem vaano thaduputhunnadi....rakthaabhishekam??....PS and SPB...I think the tamil version of this song is "Naan thaedum sevvandhi poovidhuy
I've never heard the tel version of "valayosai" from sathya....wonder where I can find on the net.
Anyway, that's all for now. I shall add to the list as and when I find/hear a new song.

5. Aem vaano MD is KVM. Rakthaabhishekam MD is IR but KVM used this tune in some other movie which had Balakrishna as hero.

Isaiosai: Kalai had listed this song as "Ramudu kalaganaledu" in the initial 44-song list.
"KVM used this tune in some other movie which had Balakrishna as hero".....that's surprising!! Anyway, thanks for the correction.

Thanks for validating that it has already been listed.
KVM had used few tunes and interludes of IR with minor changes during 80s. One that I can think of right now is the Raaghavanae Ramana Raghunaadha song. Can't recollect the Telugu movie/song though.

I have tamil equivalents for two of the four songs. Both of them are available on musicindiaonline.com. Maybe isaiosai/vidya can help us with the other two songs.

kalai, check maadi.. on "ponnoviyam" from "annai or aalayam".. could be from a different film..
where is the original list.. has it been deleted from the post.. did you include "karpoora mullai" film songs (Poongaviyam... one solo + another with KJY+KSC)?

In Badrakali tamil version PS had two songs " kannan oru" and "Vaangonna". But in tel. one more song for PS,which is a harikatha type of song and sung by MRVijaya(?) in tamil.

Kalai, you are right, it is M R Vijaya in tamil- she appears on screen as well- the only song which she sang in IR's music
