  'Life' doesnt takes you to pursue for your 'livelihood', it is the 'livelihood' which you aspire for moulds your 'life'. I understand, being in an alien land, which has always twisted history for its own convenience, makes you see this the otherway around.

  I heared this word somewhere...and I belive on this truly.
  
  There are two different type of people. One adopts the new life style and forgets where they are from. Another one is who realizes what they are missing and will try to do something for that.
  
  Atleast I am falling into the second category. I am sure I would not have had the same passion/attraction towords TAMIL/IR if I would have been on the same place.
  
  Again... Change of place teaches lot of things. You do not need to be there in India to do something to India/Tamilnadu. Infact you get a better outlook when you see your place from outside than seeing it from within inside.

  Big digression:

  Honestly, I was doing exactly that -inspiring, training, developing, designing as lead, travelling...working 6X12 a week...even neglecting family at times...Hmmmm.`vENdAm'-nu sollum kAlam vandhAl eppadi ayyA vazhanguvadhu?
  
  The so-called globalisation has cruelly cut all that short and at one point - nobody wanted anything indigenous:-(
  
  The manufacturing industry where I was putting in all those hours of hardwork was suddenly getting diverted into a trading industry (be indian buy chinese). People wanted only ottikkal-patRikkal (malayalam for "stick -or label- & cheat") which accounted for most of my time, esp. post Y2K...
  
  Could not stand that longer, quit a comfortable job/position to start a fresh development venture on a small level with a businessman and a couple of engineers...struggled for a while as any such venture takes a long time / money / support to sustain / yield fruit...all of which we could not afford / get...once all the money ran out (17 years' saving by a h/w design engineer cannot run for >1 year max:-)), the question was whether to join a job again to take care of family (and customize / promote `multi national' products thinking that by staying local I serve the motherland) or to get into the software-band wagon and don't worry about where you live -just be happy sending money to deserving individuals / families...
  
  As a quick fix to personal needs, I took route # 2. Who knows, I may be back to my original pursuits again after a few years...
  
  Don't mistake me, money never had (has) even the 11th spot of my priorities in life...uNNavum, udukkavum irundhAl pOdhum enkiRa ragam...with 75% of my classmates dashing to U.S. immediately after B.E. (now many are in the VP ranks here), I firmed up certain personal goals on the day I tore off my TOEFL application after taking DD for test fee...well, some of them I could satisfy during my small carrier (ennOda oru dinner sessionkku utkArndhA adhu pathi pEsalAm)....
  
  However, all of us realise what a small ant one is in the whole game, at some point of life:-)) Every individual is not = IR:-))

  Now question for you:
  Why you've still not spelt out what YOU're doing currently to make India / TN / Thamizh great....you can probably send me a mail, we can even discuss on some innovative venture in TN...if viable, I may even come back:-))

  My work apart frm being an Architect revolves around a marxist-communist organisation [not CPI/CPM] which believes in armed struggle under the leadership of proletarians to overthrow this capitalist/feudal system and establish a socialist>communist system of governance where the basic needs of every single human being will be satisfied. current agenda of our organisation is to make people understand the hazardous impacts of globalisation and crush the rising barbaric hindutva politics. Will anything of these be viable for you to comeback to India?

  Dont be afraid seeing the word 'Armed struggle'. It will be at the height of revolution when majority of people unite for a communist sytem, and when the govt. sponsered terrorism is unleashed upon people, as an counter offensive armed struggle will be done. As frm the Mao's famous quote ' engal aayuthangalai theermaanipavaragal engal ethirigal aavar'.
