  Tax Exemption.
  
  After much research on IRS documentation, I have determined that the cause of the thiruvasakam in symphony does not satisfy IRS criteria for Tax Exemption.
  A tie-up with TNF or any other association does not ensure Tax Exemption, unless all IRS "non profit" requirements are met. Please refer to www.irs.gov.
  
  SSS are you sending out documentation with IRS approval for donors that will be proof of donation when questioned by the IRS. If not, you are viloating the law.
  
  Please provide reasoning as to why the IRS should not be informed if you are illegally collecting money while claiming Tax Exemption protection to donors. TNF - You may lose your tax-exempt status if you do not justify that the proceeds are to be used for non-profit causes.
  
  I am okay with you asking for donation. But, when you state that it is tax-deductible, a few legal questions are raised.

  The meeting between IIR and Mr.Schwartz was personal and professional and the deatails of which can be appreciated once the CD comes out.
  Video coverage of the NJ event was also a personal archive with those present.

  I think it would be very helpful if the organisers/ promoters mention the 'age' of Thiruvasakam, the approximate period in which it was written. This would help the outsiders (even most Tamils) appreciate the effort even better. I had written earlier to Fr. Jagath, but he said that the exact period in which Manikkavachakar lived was not clear.
  
  Perhaps other Shaivite/ Tamil literature organizations can help.
  
  But I feel this is an important fact that the audience needs to know.

  Though the exact period of all the 'Thirumurai' is not known, Thiruvasakam, which is the 8th Thirumurai happened in the period of 600 - 700 AD.

  The speech by Va. Mu. Se. on Manickavasagarin Thiruvasakam went very well. There were about 30 people who listened to it. Basically, the idea was to let the devotees know about Thiruvasakam.
  He sang more than a couple of songs from Thiruvasakam and explained the meaning of each of them.
  As an organizer I had requested him to let everone know about IIR's TIS. He's also a personal friend of IIR and hence he showered praise on IIR and told about TIS.
  Since it's against the policy of the temple to talk about any fund raising within the temple premise, we only wanted to spread the awareness through this effort.

  The first clip, a 18 second clip, is a station ID of sorts. In the second 19 minute clip, the reverend talks about TiS.

  Dear Friends
  I have a suggestion to the core members.
  To speed up the process and to have the release in time,
  1. Why not the core team contribute the amount needed for TIS
  2. This amount can be an advance.
  3. Which can be reimbursed as and when donations come or from the sale proceeds of the CD
  4. This will create great confidence among all other participants.
  
  Can people give some suggestions and ideas to speedup the completion...?
