Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.
I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

Hi Werco somewhere earlier on another forum on tfm i had discussed the recording of alvandhan. kamal hassan is a wonderful person to work with. i think i would not call him interfering at all. he is very talented actor and a very well read person and his understanding of cinema is tremendous. his input on every song was very welcome and went toward the final creation of a song befitting the film script.

Hi Ehsaan,
Do you like to compose after the lyrics is written or before?

Hi Ehsaan,
You have worked with Dr.SPB as well as Hariharan. What do you think are the unique qualities of the singers in terms of their rendition, voice range, adaptability to different styles.

Hi Werco we are comfortable with composing melodies first or with lyrics so that is not a problem.

Hi Shankar we havent yet worked with SPB but are really looking forward to doing so.We have worked with Hariharan who is an old friend from the days he sang jingles with us. He is very adept in the studio and has very good voice modulation and is more suited to slower and medium paced numbers .

dear me,
you are damn intelligent. You got it right. Actually Sonu is a good and talented singer, but he terribly lacks mannish touch in his voice. Though he has sung few excellent songs for SEL.

Dear Ehsaan
Again I would like to state that three you have given some fantastic sounds and tunes. Indeed very unique and fresh music. But I always feel that selection of your singers is very much inspired by ARR. Please dont get me wrong. It would be great to listen KS, Abhijeet kind of popular (in masses ofcourse!) voices in your music. In my honest opinion it will be a great EXPERIMENT in itself.
RDB always preferred Kishore Da, Rafi Saab but in few songs he experimented Mukesh Saab / Shailendra Singh as well, and result was fabulous.
IMO a genuine music director, which I am sure you 3 certainly are, can take out best of any singer. Laxmikant Pyarelall gave some (agree! very few) fantastic songs with Shabbir Kumar, Mohd. Aziz.
I would be very glad if you can comment of these questions.

dear bruce willis lets see were also only a fe films old i guess KS and us will work together sometime but the choice of singer is a joint decision between us lyricist and director so when all are agreeable i guess we will work with ks. like we used srinivas on kaisi hai yeh rut in dil chahta hai no one here had heard of him but the song finally turned out great.

Dear Ehsaan
Loads of thanks for answering. I and many others will eagerly wait for it. Incidentally Kaisi Hai Yeh Rut - DCH is the first song of yours which striked my chords. Xcellent singin by Srinivas and music is very melodious despite techno sounds. Techno sounds blends very well with the music.
However, all the best for Kal Ho Naa Ho.

I think Kaisi hai ye rut is one of your best sung songs. Why have you not used Srinivas for any more songs. It is nice to hear a south indian sing flawless Hindi.

I seldom write stuff in forums but your music in DCH has prompted me to write a few words of appreciation.
The music in DCH is just too good to be true. I am a RDB fan and honestly, DCH has turned my attention towards hindi music, thanks to you guys.
DCH has become my all time favorite hindi movie and I ended up buying the DVD. The songs, scenarios behind each of them and the way they were filmed is just unbelievable. Every song in the album is unique and adds a silver lining to the movie.
The idea of using the australian instrument "Digiredo" for "Jaane Q" is noteworthy. My favorites (all of them !!) are:
Tanhaye and Kaise he..
Keep up the good work. Your music rocks..

Hi Ehsaan, I have a question regarding the picturisation of the song, "Kuch To Hua Hai". Who is it picturised on? Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta? Or Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta? I think it's Saif and Preity because Shaan is a singer that fits Saif's voice like a glove. So, am I right? Or is it Shahrukh and Preity? Please let me know if you can. Thanks a lot Ehsaan.

Dear Ehsaan
i am a movie maniac and like to watch anything, in any language which is good. I have noted that your selection of films first class (including Ek Aur Ek 11). Also I feel that most of the times your music is designed according to the theme of film. Do you people go through the script b4 accepting a project?

Hi Bruce well that is the most important the script has to excite u otherwise its no point composing for a film. we have rejected a few films in the past and thank god for that , all have flopped miserably !!!!

Dear Bruce Willis,
Why u think so bad about Shankar Mahadevan and Sonu Nigam ,they both are damn good. Sonu has evoled a lot. Earlier he dont used to sing but to imitate Rafi to maximum , then he started copying Kumar Sanu ( listen to all songs of Refugee ). Now he has actually started singing in his original voice and what a voice he has got!Kal ho na ho title track is realy mesmerising in Sonu's voice.About Shankar he is 100% original. The clarity of his voice realy takes away my heart.
By the way dont u think that SEL tries to copy ARR in every field.
Dont u think "tumhe aaj maine jo dekha " from Kutch Na Kaho was a copy of "Key sara sara"from ???( i dont know movie name!!)
