  7 is from pAvai vilakku - also has other wonderful CSJ songs like mangiyathOr nilavinilE (bharathiyAr), and Ayiram kan pOthAthu vannakiLiyE. This last is the tune played on the nAdaswaram by sivAji & AVM rAjan in thillAnA mOhanAmbAL, I think immediately after the band music at the club.
  
  BTW, I have to learn how to upload:-) can the experts posting here, give step-by-step instructions on how to do this? what I need beyond a PC with a modem, soundcard, & speakers?

  Thanks a lot. I remember Ayiram kaN pOdhadhu very well, especially its rendition in Thillana... I keep wondering which sounds better. I am a great fan of CSJ. He sang so many songs for Sivaji though the voice wasn't very well suited to Sivaji's own voice. I read once that when they first proposed that TMS should sing for Sivaji (I think that was in Thookku Thookki), Sivaji demurred saying that he wanted CSJ to sing. Can you believe that considering how well TMS adapted his voice to sing for Sivaji in later years?
  
  I think there is a step-by-step instruction on RA uploading in the forum. Please check it out. I look forward to the day that you can start uploading from your collection.

  I can now hear the songs on your page. Recently, I upgraded my version of RealPlayer to Version 7 and the problems seemed to have started then. What confused me was that I could listen to songs from SK's page without any problems. That is why I thought that the server you are hosting your page on may be having some problems. I uninstalled Real Player 7 and went back to Real Player 5 and now everything is okay. Now that is a really funny problem.

  Actually I forgot about that interview
  completely. Several months ago there was a special
  show organized in Singapore to honour Viswanathan
  Ramamurthy. At that time there was an interview.
  My guess is that they re-broadcasted it on this
  Christmas day. I listened to that earlier
  interview. There was nothing new said there.
  MSV said.. indru varai engaLukku uzhaikka
  mattumE therindhirundhadhu. inimElthAn pizhaikka
  katrukkoLLap pOgiROm.. or something close
  to that. I didn't know what he meant by that.
  TKR was recalling an incident in the early 60's
  when a special grand ceremony was organized
  in Madras to honour them.. but most people
  were not familiar with their faces. On that ceremony
  day they had to work hard to finish some details
  for a movie (it seems they worked very very hard
  in those days). They rushed by a taxi to the place
  of ceremony, sweating and a bit shabby. The
  watchman had one look at them and refused to let
  them in. No body recognized them at the entrance
  and it took a full half hour before someone who
  knew them came on the scene!
  There was also an interview in the local thamizh
  daily. A booklet was relesed on that occasion.

  You should be able to listen the songs in both RP 7 and RP5(G2). The problem could be with the "firewall" when you use RP 7. It doesn't seem to work with Cookies (which i use for organising and instantiating RA streaming) whereas it works for individual .RM (or .RAM) files. If you try to listen to the songs using RP7 at home (where there is no firewall), you should have no problem.

  of close assistance from cousin CV Rajendran. I
  don't think ACT had the capacity to make such a
  comedy. For the songs, Sridhar, as usual made MSV
  and the singers sweat it out. The story goes that,
  for the song poo mAlaiyil Or malligai, MSV
  had the initial humming worked out in his head,
  but had a lot of trouble conveying that correctly
  to TMS and PS. It seems it took 50 tries before
  they got it the way he wanted!
  
  BTW, why did you suddenly become curious about
