SAW VIRUMANDI

I saw Virumandi by paying extra.
Why KAMAL..? Why u proved all that told by K.Balachander in Virumandi VIZHA.
It is better to have directors like BHARATHAN ( DEVAR MAHAN ) to deliver a good interesting movie.
Virumandi was very raw and not able to sit in the second half.
Dont confuse the audience with ur confused state of mind.
Iam UPSET and my friends ridicule me as a fan of yours.

  Let me be a cheap person but whatever Vijayakanth is doing is for publicity.
  Right from purchasing tickets for any social cause, he advertises half page saying i have done such and such things.
  Besides He knows he is never a Rajni or Kamal and his fan base is mostly caste oriented.
  So these gestures are routine fare to attract publicity which will help him to fatter vote bank.
  If you can't understand that i feel sorry for you.
  He speaks Tamil tamil in all the movies do you know he is a telugu Nayakar, i am not into any caste discrimination here just wanted to tell you that his tamil campaign is also for publicity.
  He speaks Telgu at home not Tamil.
  We dont need any CM's from Cine world anymore, we need only people like Dr.Kalam or economists like Dr.Manmohan singh to get into Tamilnadu Politics.

  Despite enough criticism I wish film directors to watch this movie atleast once to try something different. Only factor I felt very bad in this movie is screenplay.This should have been done by somebodyelse to make the movie more interesting.Good thing is other characters (Pasupathi & abhirami)have performed excellently better than kamal which is rare scenario in kamal movies

  From what I have learned in this forum from other fans, it is this ‘dual narration’ technique that Kamal has borrowed from Andha Naal and Roshomon. The ‘concept‘ of the movie is not the narration/screen play style is it?
  
  Did you really see all those three movies you mention here or are you just pretending to be an ‘intelectual’? May be everyone else here lied to me. So, i'll give you the benefit of doubt.

  You’re really not in the mood to give Kamal any credit for this movie are you? That’s surprising, coming from a ‘Kamal fan’ like you.
  
  How many movies have you seen Abhirami in? In how many of those movies did she ‘sizzle in every scene’?

  It is Muddled and Over-Obvious at the same time?! Hmmm. It sounds like an oxymoron to me. How about to you?
  
  I don’t think the ‘theme’ of Virumaandi was against CP. The character of Angela was just a tool to tell a story that’s not all too original in an original way. It’s a screen play technique, that’s about it.
  
  The last scene on Sun TV is a logical end to the beginning. Even in that scene Virumaandi only says that he will ‘TRY’ to be a good man if pardoned. He never ‘promises’ to be.
  
  Of all the characters in the movie, only one, Angela, is against CP. Most others are too simple to give it even a second thought. Kothaalan is clearly for it, as he himself says.
  
  Kamal, to my knowledge never said in any interview that the movie was against CP. Kamal cannot be held responsible for what the media wrote about his movie.

  I am disappointed with you. Fans of ‘good cinema’ like you should never promote ‘thiruttu vcd’. Unless, of course, you are a ‘thiruttu vcd’ store owner. Then I can see how you will have a conflict of interest.
  
  By the way, I liked the movie very much. But I agree with you that it is not in the same league as Hey Ram and Mahanadhi.

  Guys...I am really confused here. Some of you are jumping up and down getting excited about the movie. But then, lately, an increasing number of people are claiming that it is not as good as Mahanadhi and Hey Ram. If that is the case...then it must be a real crappy movie. It looks like the movie has been doing an average business at the box office mainly due to the fact there is no other good movies and lack of competition. Kamal has timed it well...so to speak. It would have flopped big time...if a Vikram starrer (say ARUL) or a Surya starrer had been released together.

  She seems like a unabashed Kamal fan. She also seems like quite a Devar basher, to the point of being anti Bharathiraja.
  
  But quite an insightful article, although it's sometimes a little repeatitive.

  Mr. KFS, you would be better of making your own opinion after seeing the movie before getting dissappointed. Having said that, the only sore point I have about the movie is Virumandi escaping alive. Like his many past movies, I think this would have made a better impact had he died in the end.   Not many who like to see Kamal film are bothered by GREAT box-office returns. As long as the movie is a decent hit, providng decent profits to distributors, exhibitors and producer - that may do.
  
  GEMINI was a GREAT hit. Honestly, I couldn't sit the whole movie.. Vikram is good (as in Kasi, etc). GEMINI is crap.
  
  We want to see GOOD movies. So, as long as movie is accepted (i.e. decent profits) - good enough. Because, we GET to see more movies like Mahanadhi, Virumaandi.

Vikram starrer or Surya starrer would have been a threat to kamal's movie... comon man.... it should be the other way round.Those budding heroes have to think more than twice to get into the race with the legend.He knows the pulse of the fans.U guys talk Big about Surya.If Khaka Khaka would have given that kind of image i'm sorry guys... Kamal have better movies on his belt as a cop...Infront of kuruthipunal, khaka khaka is nothing.Moreover these encounter stuff is very new to Tamil movies, but Ram Gopal varma brought them into Indian Cinema long ago... His Satya and Company are more close to the reality than Khaka Khaka... Surya couldn't even stand before the magnanimous performance by Ajay Devgan and Manoj Bajpai... Goutham is heavily inspired by Ram Gopal Varma.Think guys Think.... We have the better technicians that any other industry... but still we make crappy movies... As we are not seeing outside tamilnadu we always think that our movies are good.Kamal is the only movie maker who thinks about international quality.His adoptions are from the top notched fellows....Virumandi screenplay is one such instance... Still Vikram's and Surya's have got miles to go....Kamal and rajini had their own identity to break the rules set by SHivaji and MGR... Tell me what is the identity of Surya and Vikram... do they possess one? I doubt.. Still vikram is a Director's actor...If u see his action movies, you could easily feel he is biased...His body language is the same..I didn't see any Madras Local Dada on the role of gemini.I saw only Vikram, the angry young man from Sethu...What about Dhool... where is the nativity in his role...He is suppose to be a guy from Trinelveli...I didn't see him talking trinelveli tamil... Same story with Saamy... have u ever seen any IPS officer going after a college girl.... coming to a city by drinking beer... hopeless storyline...thoadiaya thatturatha naanga Annamalailayae paathutom... Super star is super star... he didn't even came close to that... So wake up Kannan... Open your eyes and enjoy the legend's move....
