koradu,
if u wanna delib misunderstand I dont care nee eppadi purinjikitta enakku enna!
to srikanth sabesan and others
I repeat once again! I was just asking question and not trying to belittle IR. If thats the way you recv question then fine by me.
It just shows u Hard Core prejudices against a person branded as ARR fan that u pounce on questions itself.
My intent was only to ask how you'all got to know that IR was writing notes for his scores thro hand. Initially I just though some of you might give pointers or explanation of personal experience with IR or atleast narration of other people personal experience with IR.
Again there is one person who says I have not put question mark. what I dunno is it didnt sound insulting w/o the Q marks? and what I further dont know is Not at one point did I aggresively demean insult or mock IR or your comments (unless provoked)
so what this means is all you enraged folks who have their traps shut in other threads cannot allow any comments/ critisisms or even questions in your own IR pugazh thread. whereas u pick up the audacity to jump into all other threads and bash other MD's
so what if you are a composer or u know IR ? did i contest that? A simple answer that you know him and you have seen that wud have convinced me.
Sabesan post that I wud continually ask for more proof is just proof of your bias.
Is evidence an agressive insulting word. whats so wrong in asking for evidence.
still all u can do is show my questions (and lack of question marks from people who advise others not to harp on silly grammar issues) as my most offending comments
u cud have said the msv was not the first person to transalate wcm compositions into tfm,
"avalukenna" was not the first stereo recording
but u just went on a continuous tirade just under the assumption that I am HCARRF. I have never even claimed that I was a HCARRF.
But u expect if a person like IR/ARR he should just sit down and worship them and never ask questions! And if some one like me asks some controversial questions your slave mentality will contest by "below the belt " techniques like "are u a composer?" etc.
srikanth u r not smarter than me and you will never be. Just know this, inspite of all your music knowledge the reason why u are doing small time compositions of low value is because of your stupid mentality and your infinite prejudices. People like you will just be forum posters and will never rise above "average people like me"
ask this? what is the difference between you and me? just that you know composing! and you have recorded a few CD's. In the world of composers you are the lowest rung.
first develop a mentality of communicating effectively to a man who questions and critisizes your deepest passion and belief. Then you can talk about height lenghth and width of others postings

bharath,
i have seen this!!..he does write his scores, he usually writes his backgrounds..pretty quickly.
belive me well tranined western classical musican can calculate the score in their mind, they ofetn tell they hear it in their brain. if possible, check with any musician who has worked for IR.
-- this was my reply...i made it clear.
i also requested you to check with some other musician for xross check.
also a big thanks for taking pains to making me popular.
i know i will get some 20k of data for you for the above.. but i will not read it this time.
you need medical advice asap....

also this one, not sure if this has been attempted earlier..... using just few words for a song - "ninaivellam nithya nithyaa.... ninaivellam nithya nithyaa.... " from the same movie.... and "azhagaeee unnai aaaraadhanaaai seigireeen"..... i know one song by MSV - "ninaithaalaeee inikkum", but not sure which one of these came first.....

sabesan..beat is really unqiue...and interesting, IR and beat patterns...
this man has created some unique beat patterns, -- few of hand examples: motta madi, nila adhu, assaiya kathu, netu oruthara parthu (this song has a xtoic harmoinca piece). keyboard players who played or for ir...have exploited the dx7 keyboard..akuvera anivera )
now his weakness : it is sad thing to note that he has worked with the same beat pattern for many of his songs..sangeetha megam, ilaya nila, muthual muthalaga kathal duet, guruvayur appa, many more are there..,I call it #include "ir.std.beat" however other good things in the song will cover this very well.
coming to this ninaivellam nithya nithyaa...
itha than "periyavanga" title song nu sollunvanga..oldies have dont this long time ago.
i could remember parmagale par...
also ninaithaalaeee inikkum was released even before priya
ninaivellam nithya nithyaa -- i still remember the dance by karthick and GG, simply sakikathu...director should be kicked for wasting one of the best song by ir....:)
any more questions, sabesan please email me
i might not pop in here again, i saw u r posting and i just answered it. mr.(bh)arathu tholai thangalapa.... :)

Thanks sriks..... oh yeah, talking about Ninaivellam Nithya - i would rate this as one of the worst movies by Sridhar.... no clue what he had in mind when he took the movie..... a gem of songs were wasted totally....
i remember one more song of IR in Moodupani - Paruva Kalangalin Kanavu - this also had a good beat (am i correct ?)..... the other song in this - En Eneyaa Poon Nilaavae - had good guitar...
And also IR use of tabla was simply supurb.... one song that comes to me now in mind is "Vaa velaiyeee ilam poonguialaeee" in the movie "Padu Nilaa" i think..... there will be a tabla towards the end of the song - real good one....
similarly is the song "Koonji Koonji Alaigalooodaaa".....
the movie "Poovizhi vasalelee" had a wonderful BGM - especially whenever the "dhaadi" vaala who is the right hand of Raguvaran comes..... i think its from a Veenai - but used differently (i am not able to say what is different though :-)).....

I have been posting in TFM for the past 2 years-this takes the cake for being the most self centered, rude, inconsiderate and thoughtless posting.are u a psychology student or something bharath? if so, you need serious self analysis.
p.s:u also need to apologise to srikanth.

there are lots of subtle things raaja has done in percussion; offhand: in dhEva sangItham the pattern in the charaNam gets a little complex for every line even tho' to a first approximation they all sound the same. another great expt. he did which went VERY unnoticed was the song iLaya nilavE iLaya nilavE in poNNu vITTukkAran. the two main themes (iLaya nilavE iLaya nilavE ... and O vAnmathi ...) get repeated in so many fashions (each separately, together as a counterpoint with the two themes switching roles as the background and foreground, as counterpoints with other melodic lines, ...) - it's a beautiful composition. became an utter flop :-(

Bharath:
You are the lowest form of life that I have ever encountered in my life. That's all you deserve and you will not receive another response from me. You are an a*shole di*khead if you every dreamt that people wouldn't catch the sarcastic drift of your "questions". BTW, in 4 years of participation in the DF, you hold the esteemed position of being the first and only person to incite me into using expletives! Congrats on a most shameful achievement! Your name will go into the annals of newtfmpage.com history as the single most obnoxious DFer :-)
Sriks:
I bow my head to you in all humility for everytime I called you anti-IR :-) When elephants walk by, dogs will bark...kandukkaatheenga :-)

Srinath comes back with a bang!!! enna, bb oorukku pOyirukkAn engira dhayiriyamA? :))
Talking of beats, 'aye pAdal ondru' from Priya had beautifully arranged congo beats. 'puthiya poovithu' had novel usage of Tabla tarang. Another novelty that stood out even in his early days was the seamless blending of two different genres of music as in the first interlude of 'enn uyir nee thAnE' from Priya. The start is 'Far eastern-ish', then violin, chorus and finally an 'Indian-ish' flute piece leads you effortlessly to the charaNam. Another example, the violin piece in the first interlude of 'poongathaVe thAzhthiRavAi'.

Maybe a Digression :
Writing down notes is one "style" of composing...doesn't make one a genius or a success...i have a friend who can think music and write notes...he has not done anything commercially nor has the will or means to do....
So we do admire IR's skill in that area and hats off to him for that but that alone doesn't become a criteria to judge the true worth of a composer...there are a lot of other factors that show IR's genius...I am sure if you ask IR himself...he'll tell you.

One more thought :
After seeing all the postings up above (Bharath vs Rest)
IR and ARR have both broadened the vision and horizon of Tamil Film Music..IR through the introduction of Western Classical and ARR through the introduction of digital technology and western contemporary music. By doing this, they have tuned TFM to be in tune with their respective eras and times...and bcos of this are geniuses in their own respects...and original too bcos they have created their own unique blend of music.
