Teja,
If iam right The MD for Mukku Pudaka is J.V.Raghavulu not KVM. Are you mentioning about Chinuku Chinukugaa.. yes. It is JVR.
In fact KVM used lots of IR's BGM in his latter period

Hiya folks
Have anyone ever compared Limp Bizkit's 'Rollin' and ARR's Boys Theme music ????? Any similarities ?

Kupps: If KVM lifted the tune from IR, how can you call it a tribute to IR? :-) A copy is a copy, especially because it was KVMs name and not IRs that would be associated with the song.

AV,
I too said that its a copy, no doubt about it. I dont think KVM did it ala our deva (or) sirpi (or) anu malick (or) anand milind etc's does. When MDs of status KVM copy other's tune means that they are very much impressed with it and they copying is a kind of tribute to the other (even though it is not acknowledged in the credits), because those status MDs copy definitely not because of "stock empty" and they indulge in such copying rarely.

AV, it is an acknowledgment of one genius by another, even though it is not apparent from the credits. to repeat a cliche, plagiarization is the best form of praise.

There is a an INDIPOP song by Vikas Bhalla which is doin' the rounds on music channels. It is a note by note copy of the yesteryears tamil hit, "nadiya Nadiya Nile Nadiya". But with the amount of remixes in hindi these days, can anyone throw light on whether this was an old hindi song - in which case, the tamil version is lifted !

Nadiya Nadiya Nile Nadiya is by R.D.Burman, no doubt it sounds like hindi song.

the latest song " COLLEGIKKU POVOM" from the movie "KOVIL" was originated from the movie "VANAME ELLAI",the song " KAMBAN ENGGU PONAAN" tune at the beginning copied..
the song " ROJA ROJA" from the movie " KADHALAR DHINAM" has its tune exactly from the song "ENNAI VITTAAL YAARUM ILLAI" sung by K.J. Jesudas..

There is a recent song from our infamous copycat Deva which is shamelessly lifted from
"Yamunai aatrile eerakaatrile" of Thalapathi

It's interesting to note how 2 music directors with completely different style can conceive similar tunes.
Observe the tune flow in the lines below :
Song Nallavarkellam saatchigal rendu
Film : Thyaagam
MD: IR
Lines : Manidhan amma mayangugiren
Thavarukku thunindha manidhan azhuvadhillaye
Thavariyum vaanam mannil vizhuvadhillaye
Song : Kurukku siruthavalle
Film : Mudhalvan
MD : ARR
Lines : Un kannil neer vazhiya udhadu vazhi uyir kasiya ................till the end of pallavi.

This is not the only time Rahman's tune coincidentally inspired on IR's tune. He was inspired on " Inji Idupazhagi" too for his Pukar song. ARR inspires on MSV song, KVM etc..and its all termed as coincidence.

pukar's song sunta hai mera khuda was not inspired from IR's inji edupalaka, it was inspired from Kallem manika kallakuma.
Similarly IR to gets his inspirations from MSV
rum bum bum arambam is inspired from
malarenra manam onru parakattum even the rhythm is same in both the songs, Raja would have added a bit of jazz in the middle of the song.

Jacky,
Your observation about MSV IR is interesting. But ARR's inspiration is not visible.
Pukar song is havin the tinge of Madurai Marikozhundu vaasam as well as Inji idupazahagaa.

Jacky,
Also one interlude humming from "Ponn Maane" oru kaidiyin dairy movie by IR is used in Thiruda Thiruda song "Kannum Kannum Kollai adithaal".
The Humming before "Kaval paarpavan kaeidhiayaai nirkirrane vaa" is used before "Parakadal ponigaal vannil pournamee enru artham"

2003's biggest and most successful lift was by Dhana in "thiruda thirudi". the song "manmatha rasa" was a straight copy of "chingamasam vannu chernal", the mallu song form the film Meesa Madhavan. only, the rhythm was a bit speeded up in the tamil version. surprising nobody has noticed or commented on this!

Sivam,
i can be an inspiration or a coincidence cuz you got to really be inspired to get the minute bits to gether.
i think music directors are limiting themselves to a set of raagas, is that a reason why we catch these tinges and shades?
I read an artcile by kavinyar vaali where he quoted Rahman has used a rare Raaga in Rajyama emiyama - baba but that song didn't click with the audience, may be All ragas aren't marketable!
I dunno, just a thought.

My opinion for lot of shades of others music comes in to being because the new trend MDs use computers for Control-C and Control-V. They are successful in some respect to make it their original. Certain reasons they get caught so openly and face the embarrassment. When you ask those people they would say that their guru is RD Burman. They would never say MSV or KVM or IR. When u see their work most of the coincidences come from the above stated MDs.

I guess vaali said that ARR has given a new(different from the earlier ones) tune in kalyaani/sindhubhairavi (or some oft repeatedly used widely know raaga only). I dont think he(vaali) said that a rare raaga is used for "raajyama".
pundits may clarify this.

"veppa maram" from "samy" has its exact background from "madrasai suthi parka" from "may matham"....
"irava pagala" from "poovellam kettupar" is duplicated from a japanese version..
