Dear Guys,
VM once said about ARR while releasing Karuthamma that " Ilayaraja Gramathilirundhu Vandhavar, Avar Graamiya Isai Amaippadhu Periya Aacharyyam Illai, But ARR Oru Nagaratthu Vaalibar, Avar Graamatthu Isai Amaippadhudhan Periya Saadhanai"..
but what I say is:
Gramathil therukoothu pottavar Royal Philharmonic Orchestrala Symphony pottadha marandhuteengalada??
I need your sincere opinion about this guys..

Listen to Mozart symphony No.25 from the movie AMADEUS (biographical movie of Mozart). You will listen to some of the familiar sounds used in movies. One obvious lift is 'Titan' watch music.

Listen to the first movement of beethoven in moonlight sonata. A delight to listen.. you might have heard very often..Fur Elise is even more popular. These things may be totally out of context. Only when we listen to classical music more we can understand their stunning works. Beethoven's 5th symphony is also great. They lived more than 100 years back. We still have their music in our cell phone. That explains the longevity of classical music. I guess i am not good at explaining these things. Prasanna has explained indepth about Illayaraja's mastery over classical music.

I agree to G.
I was juz pointing this out to my cousin recently. Can you imagine the magnitude of this guy(IR)??!!
I mean here you are listening to his therukoothu song (from Puthiya Vaarpugal) and this very guy was responsible for Bulwah's Theme in Lajja!!
:)

AWE:
NOM to you, but I read an article and it was discussed here earlier also about RPH being commissioned to play IR's symphony. So, RPH did not ask IR to play for them. Had that been they would have paid him. IR wanted his composition to be played by RPH. RPH might have sent one person to check the place where IR composes. This happens with all things. The customers check the factory place to check all the standards. But that's okay. He might have been impressed with IR's prolificity. That's great. No doubt. John, a conductor, might not be a great composer as you say (come on don't exagerate) said that he liked IR's composition. Ya I have read the letter.
But, what has stopped them to release the symphony. Don't talk about a human who has not born yet. All your comments on symphony and examples of Beetho and Moz symphony, saying that IR will be similar to this is all your imagination. Till date no body haas listened to it. Only people like Subbudu and MSV who have a degree in Music from Cambridge University listened to that. People like me (us) who have only degree from BDU and Univ. of Madras have not listened to that.
How do you now justify that IR's symphony is better that Betho's and Moz's. I say, untill it is released to public, IR's symphony is a non exisistant stuff.

Nobody said IR's symphony is better than Beethoven. When you have not listened to it, don't try to judge him. It is an accepted fact he is one guy who has indepth knowledge about both western classical and carnatic.
"The customers check the factory place to check all the standards"
Whatever you talk are based on pure speculation and hearsay. You do not have to listen to IR music.
"John, a conductor, might not be a great composer "
You know how naive you sound when you say. I thought you had half bake knowledge about music. Now it is proven that you don't have any basic knowledge about music let alone classical music.
Your speculative arguments about IR demand ridicule. I got nothing to talk to you as i know your level of understanding music now. I am not going to respond to you anymore.

Awe don't lower yourself by responding to people like Are Yaar. He is beyond things like movements,
symphony. Probably he must be a fan of ARR or Deva. Only they can behave like this. He is fit only for low quality music directors like ARR, Deva, Sirpy.

Vj.. i appreciate your concern. But some people deliberately try to sabotage a smooth thread which requires some harsh attention. We can figure out if there is any genuine intention to find out the truth just by looking at the points.
I honestly feel it is more an attempt to destroy this thread than to find anything else. I have already told i listen to what i like. You listen to what you like.

I was asking about the composer for the ad-none other than ARR.
Titan could not pay 'Mozart from vienna' for this ad-so,instead they paid 'Mozart from madras'.
should this be in copied postings thread?

Vairamuthu is not a great musician to comment or rate who is the best musician in Tamil Film Industry. That too its a known fact that Both IR & Vairamuthu were not in good terms. So, naturally he will support ARR. Don't create such silly threads. If u really like a music, just listen and enjoy it.
Nowdays, I feel the entire purpose of this TFM page is lost.

now, now why speculation suddenly deserves only ridicule? when it comes from are yaar? Ppl are freewheeling into speculation that RPH was impressed with raja, they gave a standing ovation, that all who played knew the inside of the music industry and that whoever who appreciates the symphony is a born musical genius.. while at the same time, trying desperately not to even give a thought about the converse aspect given by are yaar? and dismiss him outright and (nows the chance, eh?) all those wretched souls who dont happen to be HIS devout followers have, by default, bad music knowledge and in general, poor taste in life?
Agreed, raja composed a symphony which is a great achievement.. nobody has second thought about it.. What we are all curious is how ppl are able to comment on hearsay that the symphony is extremely good, blah blah..
If Prasanna says raja is the master, he obviously means that he is one of the masters.. and not HIM alone.. I am sure prasanna is not as weak as we are in music and oratory skills, to state so.
Please guys, refrain from generalizing that all rahman fans are fools and such unwarranted stuff... now, here we are talking about the low-lifes who call themselves as rahman fans and patronizingly bashing them, comes three stooges who prove to be as ignorant as they blame others to be. Yet, I can see none of those intellectuals who were Quick to pounce on are yaar, come up and dismiss these fools as well..
as far as i know, this is what is called hypocrisy. or is it only me?

Hell Ivan.. i didn't know Titan music was scored by ARR. If that is true then it ought to have been in the copied posting thread.. JPM... Views of someone who pokes in every thread to say something bad about IR.. defenitely lose credibility as it is biased because he is ARR fan. So instead of merely asking questions out of curiosity he is hell bent on trying to prove that IR doesn't deserve this fan following in almost every thread in every possible way. I have decided not to respond to him.
