BGM abilities of AR Rahman

ARR is phenomenal when it comes to songs... But is he equally good in BGM of his movies...? and why does sabesh-murali (deva's brothers) assist him???

My personal favorite bits are...

1. flute bit in Jodi
2. Title Sax in KKKK
3. Veena bit in Alai payuthey

His work in rhythm and duet are equally impressive... but what about the rest of the long list of movies? your responses plz :-)

  the reason it seems ARR is not so good in BGM becuz most of the movies he isnt doing the BGM maybe more like 50-50. but when he does the BGM u can tell cuz it is realli good. I prefer ARR for youthful,and very serious movies as for BGM.
  
  but IR i feel is better suited for the rustic village feel and sad films BGM arena.comparing them is useless becuz they have different capabilities and are both greta in their respective fortes.

  the background score was not by rehman... there was is another name for background music.. will let u guyz know of his name.. can anybody confirm.. that for me ...

  Have read a few times that people can only appreciate ARR's bgm when played in 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 or digital. Isn't actually crediting the sound quality and not the music quality?
  
  A good bgm shd be able to be appreciated in any muffled speaker or sound. Illavitti namma allu 25 varudamma peyarru potturupaara?

  Both IR and ARR's styles are different.The instruments they use also vary.I saw Ivan recently.Mindblowing BGM by IR.No need for dialogues only his music would convey the emotions.IR came during the late 1970.So naturally he uses a lot of traditional instruments and brings in his melody.Not to forget that IR is an exponent in Western Classical.Coming to ARR he also uses violins,all sorts of percussion,flute etc etc.But the recording quality also differs here.Both of them are unique thats why there are the only trendsetters in the past 25 years.
  Their way of composing is also different.ARR's Lagaan,Legend of BS,Rangeela Zubeidaa all had a very good BGM.
  ARR needs more time to do good BGM's like IR.As I said IR is a musical genius,but ARR though not versatile like IR is brilliant enough to make it big in the international arena.

  I am a HCIRF and it is well known that IR is the
  best in BGM.
  
  But I am against branding that none other than IR
  can do good in BGM..If you see a movie with that notion, then you will miss to appreciate good effort from ARR or others. I have admired the BGM of Lagaan which suited the story so well..

  1 cup of ARR's kotta juice
  
  
  lots of ARR's pee to spread on their mouth before spreading on their breads.

  I think "What a post" wrote his experience with IR but just changed it to ARR.
  
  If IR is great why he is not scoring music for any hollywood or bollywood films.even tamil directors are not willing to make IR as their MD.
