If SP Bala is so great , why has Bollywood rejected him?

SP bala never sings in hindi...he is not in demand!

By the way I am being devils advocate here, I myself am a great fan of SP bala but i would like the listeners reaction to this statement

  Still, Hindi is widely spoken in India than any other languages, agreed?
  
  Now coming back to these contemporary singer in north, like the Sanus, Narayans (he is OK), Nigams, and all Mumbai walas are not great, when compared with legends and geniuses like SPB, Rafi, KJY, Kishore, Ghantasala,.. etc!
  
  I am not insane to compare jokers with legends, I was just using that as an example, half of the Mumbai wala's worship sanu's nasal voice, 3/4 mumbai walas think SRK is the greatest actor in India, which makes me really annoyed, this is due to their ignorance towards the south (fondly called by the mumbai walas as madrasis).
  
  This is the sad truth., let me ask u some thing, can the current or the (1970 -2004) bollywood match any of the following legends from the south ?
  
  1) SPB - Greatest singer ever, Could only be compared with Rafi
  2) Shivaji Ganeshan - the greatest actor ever , some mumbai wala's may say, Dilip Kumar or Raj kapoor, no way
  3) Rajnikanth - The ultimate super*, most charismatic actor ever on screen, again the Delhi walas may say Amitab, well I agree to a certain extent
  4) Kamal Hasan - Tell me an actor, who can match Kamal ???
  5) IR & ARR - two gems from the south, RDB/ SDB can be compared to IR & I believe IR SDB & RDB are in the same league.

  Yes. Do not make fun of others to praise your idols. (Let it be IR, ARR, SPB...)
  
  SPB is a great singer - even though his Hindi pronunciation was not that good (better than Udit's tamil pronunciation) - he was popular some time, particularly Ram-Laxman used him for Salman for couple of movies and that became a trend.

  The movie name is "Tere Paayal Mere Geet" by Naushad. Movie was big flop - it had couple great numbers by SPB, but I would not call them Ghazal, but Hindustani Classical. I still have that audio cassette.
  
  And please do not insult Udit - he is the only versatile singer after SPB. You shall listen his Hindi songs to understand his talent.

  Yes, that is very true, Ram Laxman used SPB for Salman from Maine Pyar Kiya till Hum Aap hey Khon, then both Ramlaxman + SPB + Salman trend vanished :(
  
  Regarding Narayan, he is the only ? good singer in HFM and a pathetic one in TFM :)

  Teri Paayal Mere Geet - Starring Govinda and Meenaxi Seshadri. (Big flop). Govinda singing Classical music??!! What else can you expect?

  I am sure the constitution of India is more authentic than the site you sent me. The author seems to be more worried about Hindi not being accepted as 'The' national language of India (according to his definition of national). But if you feel so homey with Hindi, even with the facts, there is nothing anyone can do to convince you that there other 'National' languages in India besides Hindi.

  So he means that the Centre and states are different. Its a nice 'nationalist' view I would say, typically, one that is adopted by a majority of North Indians.

  So what? You cannot change the way people feel about their favorite actors. You can always introduce them to Kamal Hassan or Sivaji, if they really want more knowledge of good actors. But if they do not, whats the point? If people are willing to learn you can teach them, if not you can ignore them. Who cares about the so-called mumbai waalas, who do not wish to acknowledge the prescence of other intelligent and talented Indians in the country.
  
  And DD didn't do us any favor either by telecasting all those 'regional' language movies and causing further divide among the country. Whenever I meet someone from the North, those guys talk to me as if I am from another planet, this is the kind of crazy nationalism we have among our countrymen.

  1) Sun baliya - 100 days - Jackie Shroff
  2) Saagar
  3) Ek Duche Kiliye - National award winner
  4) Suhaag - One song for Akshay Kumar
  5) Agneepath - One song for Mithun
  
  'En purushanthaan ennaku matum thaan', was made remade into Hindi with Rekha & Jeetinder, don't quite know the name of the film, had an SPB song.
  
  Many of ARR's Hindi remakes like 'Roja', 'Gentleman','Sapnay', 'Hindustani', Ootam(Daud) had SPB in it.
  
  any way, I hear many times that SPB is the only one that does justice to original RDB/SDB songs, which were originally sung by Rafi & Kishore.
  
  Has SPB sung, the Kishore song from Aradhana (' mere Sapnoki raani'), if so please let me know, I just love that song KK done a perfect job in that song, more than 'Ruputhera masthan pyaru mera dheewana ' :)

  Neither I am dedicated as you nor I have time. I am able to recall most of the songs you mentioned.
  
  No - I have never heard SPB singing "Meri Sapno Ki Rani".
  
  I love Kishore's "Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhagisi", "Zindagi Ek Safar"...
  
  If possible listen to "Teri Paayal Mere Geet" - lovely songs by SPB. You will love the lyrics also (I hope you understand Hindi)
