Hi! We've made a major addition to newtfmpage, and that is a big song bank. Dhool features thousands of songs for your listening pleasure. This site is a part of the newtfmpage.com - swara.com group. Together with newtfmpage, we wish to make this the best place to listen to tamil film songs online and know about tamil film music. Our collection includes old, new, famous, rare and unheard of songs. We are still fine tuning and fixing the database errors, so please bear with us.   I thought Arvind Swamy has given an ultimatum to his love earlier (there is a dialogue to that effect) and he is feeling sad that she hasn't turned up yet. The bad acting is, even after Chitra starts singing, his expression doesn't change much - whereas he should have felt happy. chEy!   Rightly pointed out by Kitcha HH has been passionately trying to ruin this song in every concert of his.
  
  A.Swami with oozing pain on his face to locate the nearest loo,Manisha doing a Nirupama Mankad (remember all those National integration/Louis Banks/Rajiv Gandhi days!!!)........eyesore!
  
  This song still will be remembered for its choice of location,the soothing flute piece ,VM and Rehman.

  - Sung by S.P.B. I heard this song for the first time today and got hooked due to SPB's singing. I couldn't find any info on the song in newtfmpage or elsewhere. So, it does look like an obscure song. Any information on the song is appreciated.

  bb, I can't listen to the song from where I am right now, but the one 'kanava illai kathaiya' that I recall is from the Vijayakanth/Ambika starrer 'Dhandanai'(19.7.85, Ramanarayanan) Music by Chandrabose. Other songs were 'Adho vaanile nila oorvalam' (SPB/SJ) and 'Kavignan ennai paadalaam' (MV/VJ)

  Great song. I remember once during an interview IR said this
  "People always ask me abt mannil indha kaadhal andri as the first song in which singer sings without catching breath. But this song "kanmaniye kadhal enbadhu" is also like that. "
  And he sang that and showed :-)

  "mazhai varuvathu mayilukku theriyum" from Rishimoolam has a more breathless, elongated pallavi than any we've discussed here I think.
  
  Besides the obvious greats at work in the SOTD, this is yet another piece by Panju to fortify IR's career long before VM entered the picture. The pre-VM lyricists for IR deserve a serious tide of appreciation.

  Re the elongated pallavi I thought that "vaanengum thanga vinn meengal...ezhunda neram.....naam paaduvom gitaanjali" from MOONram Pirai to be the longest pallavi...VM mentioned it in an interview alongwith viyarvai, selai, solai , maranam and such like in an interview ;-))

  F e r r a r i, you are right about the interview - it was a special prog on 4.11.91 for Diwali - Guna was getting released that day, hence the Kanmani Anbodu song was brought into picture.
