Hi! We've made a major addition to newtfmpage, and that is a big song bank. Dhool features thousands of songs for your listening pleasure. This site is a part of the newtfmpage.com - swara.com group. Together with newtfmpage, we wish to make this the best place to listen to tamil film songs online and know about tamil film music. Our collection includes old, new, famous, rare and unheard of songs. We are still fine tuning and fixing the database errors, so please bear with us. We value your feedback, and this will help us build the site better. Please post your comments below or mail to comments@newtfmpage.com.
This work was done by us (bb and RR) with MS and swara.com ravi.

Saravanan, BIIIIIG HEEEELP required. Please find the kannada version of 'kAthalin pon veethiyil', by Mr.WonderBAL(U) and your favourite lady singer. I have been trying hard but in vain. The song goes something like 'premakavya........'.

Nonthu Sphagetti aana ullangalukku aaruthalaga "NaaLai namathey"?
"Kadhal Pizzaze" poatratheenga!
Rajan Nagendra endravudan intha paamaranukku ninavukku varuvathu Änandham adhu ennada? from Iru NilavugaL.
2 years back SJ was just "another"singer who had a gimmick or 2 up her sleeve,in my opinion. But now the "established-woman-singer" in my heart is fighting serious "änti-incumbancy" factor.

Bala, raja m, I too don't think Chandanadha Gombe was ever dubbed/ remade in Tamil. I remember Anant Nag acting in Hindi (Kaliyug) and in Malayalam (Swathi Thirunaal), but don't think he acted in Tamil. Chandanadha Gombe had some wonderful songs by R-N, I can still recall listening to 'manayenu belagide indhu nee bandhu' and 'ee binka bidu bidu' in Madhur Geetham (Vividh Bharathi) Chandanada Gombe was also featured in DD's regional movie series. I vaguely remember Lakshmi coming running, upon hearing that water has been struck in the drought-prone village, and the happiness suddenly turns into a tragedy as Anant Nag dies in some accident at the site.
SL, never knew that there was a Kannada version of 'Kaathalin pon veedhiyil'. I will try to find it. Was the MD MSV himself?
Chitti, here's the Tamil original that SL mentions. It'll be great if you could find the Kannada version!

YES my guess was correct,as I have mentioned before it is the same song 'Prema Kaavyada Raajana' is kannada version of 'Kaathalin pon Veedhiyil', sung by SJ and SPB. movie 'Halli Haida', starring Srinath and Manjula. But I dont remember the MD. This was very popular song, and I have this song with me.
Saravanan, thanks for the link of tamil song. I have lot of kannada, tamil and telugu songs collection with me. But I never heard this Tamil song, nicely sung by SJ and TMS. Thanks again.
regards
Chitti

Song of the Day: uyirE uyirE from Bombay.
http://www.newtfmpage.com/cgi-bin/stream.pl?url=http://www.dhool.com/sotd/uyireuyire.rm
- Sung by Hariharan and Chitra. Music by A.R.Rahman.
- I was searching for something and landed up in this site: http://www.bekal.com/ . Few song locations stand in our memories as this one. The sight of waves hitting the rocks, a foggy setting and a passionate song; What a combination! Of course, Manisha's run also made the picturization special :)

Great song to finish the week... This song & 'en kaadhale' from duet will
stand out as one of the great melodies in the early 90s...This song gave a well deserved
break for HH who didnt have a lot of chances after thamizha thamizha... Chitra's humming was
the highlight of the song with manisha's famous run as bb mentioned...
Bombay produced by Madras Talkies & directed by Manirathnam starred arvind swamy, manisha, naasser, kitty...
Music by ARR, Lyrics by VM and photography by Rajiv menon. The album overall was good with 5 songs and a tune.. The movie had a couple of extra songs..
annalane and uyire are the best and Andha arabic kadaloram & poovekkenna pootu stand out..
(summa saravananmaathiri try panni pakkalamennu oru alpa aasai..:) )...

hmm...
I felt more irritated than feeling the pathos in the song. Even the lyrics evoked a kind of embarrassment in me. The location and cinematography steal the show in this song. May be I am old fashioned.
But kaNNaaLanae by chitra(?) is my pick of the album, very well sung by her (again "mobapapaaahhh" qawwali style aalaapanaas were bit odd in the otherwise very good song).
Personally I dont like this SOTD and snaegidhanae from alaipayuthae.

sp... adhaan aarva kolaru :)....
Arvind swamy's acting in this song konjam overa irundhadhu.. I mean if you look at just this song without knowing the story, it would seem as if two lovers are going to unite after a long period of time or after going thru' a lot of trouble... whereas what it really was is the girl approving or accepting a one-sided love... Until the song, Arvind swamy would be a jovial person making fund & kiddin' around and all of a sudden would turn to a serious person crying(not literally but sounding like) when he sings this song.. I havent seen anyone crying that his lover didnt turn-up...:))

Still remember when I bought the casette on the day of its release from this shop near Salem Old Bus Stand. And I was surprised to see Rahman's name under "Humma Humma" and I asked the casette kada owner how he sounded like, and the guy said, "Ilaiyaraja-vide nalla paadiraaru thambi". :)))
As for "Uyire", I think my liking for this song has dwindled over the years. Mostly because the song evokes images of Arvind Swami wandering some rocky landscape wearing a monkey expression (even though some might argue that images of Manisha should compensate for that). And also because of all the times Hariharan has tried to sing different versions of the song on EVERY show he has been on...all with that silly grin plastered on his face. Makes me wanna sing back to him, only with different lyrics begin with "Ma...", but rhyming with 'Uyire'.
