Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.
I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

hi kiran we becamse hindi film music composers by chance . we did ( and still do ) a lot of advertising work like jingles etc. we did a lot of advertising work for the late mukul anand who asked us to compose music for his film " dus ". which never happened as he died , the music released and i guess we were in the industry.

SEL, 'Tu hi bata zindagi' from Armaan ,is a true classic .This is the song I hum ,these days.
But you could have reduced the scale of Shreya Ghosal by an unit coz she seems a little strained at higher notes at Charanam although she carried it off very well. What Hindusthaani raagam is this song based on? The shenoy like piece towards the end of Charanam and the small rythm passage embellish this song to a great extent.

hi mythila the shreya ghosal version was a last minute addition by the record company t series the version does not appear in the film. record companies put on extra versions to fill up the audio cd. the version was not supervised by us and we heard it for the first time when we go the cd !!!!

Hi Gliss
As far as musicians go all three of us are musicians ourselve and as such we do not hire any outside help as all the programming etc is done between the 3 of us. As far as the composing goes I guess you will have to present your demo tape or cd to film makers to try and get work. I would start with directors who are making smaller films as that is a good way to start , but that should not stop from giving your demo to more senior directors too you may never know what happnes. Is there a website where your tunes are ?

I have been your fan since Mission Kashmir. You guys are definitely fresh. Still not complete though. Complete in the sense, 2 or 3 songs are good. Even all songs of an album are good but they all don't stand out - to go on and become a mega hit.
A few things i noticed.
1) Too much melody will be appreciated but may not become too popular. There should be a good mix of songs.
2) Mahalakshmi Ayer was really good in Armaan songs. Use more fresh and versatile voices, than just Shankar Mahadevan ;)
3) Do good/hit movies - even if the songs are good, if the movie flops, songs are not heard or remembered - and you loose motivation.
4) Be more aggressive. Rahman is famous coz he comes off really strong when it matters.
5) Think you guys are already using very good lyricists. So just continue doing that.
6) You guys tend to be classical. Have mass appeal too.
7) Other things i can feel but unable to put in words (or) do not know enough to identify :)
These are just some of my thoughts that arise out of desire for more of good music. Sorry if i sound rude or anything else.
Thanks | Ramesh

Hi Siva nice songs but some how I think there need to be some variations in the tempo of the songs. They all seem to be around the same region of bpm. However the important thing is that the compositions are good.

Thanks for your comments Mr. Eshaan. I sang all those and played the flute. It was composed my Kapileshwar.
I am performing with Mr. Shankar Mahadevan in New Jersey. I am part of the Agni Music group.
Thanks again,
Siva

Guys
Just listen to the latest Boys music. The Lucky Ali number 'Secrets of Success' - just listen to the first 35 secs of the techno-trance start. It exactly resembles the DCH number 'Koi Kahe..' technotrance start.
Ehsaan....any comments ? Was it also one of those freely available commercial loops that MDs use nowadays ?

Hi people no comment on that , I guess koi Kahe has set a standard of sorts. The opening of the song was programmed and created by us. We respect Rahman a lot !!

Hi Dinesh I never said that he would copy us. You have to understand that there are some things in techno , dance music that tend to sound similar like arpeggiators etc. So there will be similarities its the genra of music thats similar thats all.

Hello ,
ur music for Abhay was great ..esp the "kadvul Pathi" song ....also the theme song was great ..even in a melody like ' un azhaguku " ( shankar mahadvean ,SUjatha) ,i was able to feel the mood of the film ..COngrats ....
Do u think our Indian composers ( barring a few) can give great scores as far as BGM is considered???If we refer to hollywood we have greats like James Williams ,James horner ,Edward Legrand ,John scott ..etc ..but as far as Indian music is considered ( from whatever i have heard ) only Illayraaja ( u can see that in Laaja),Sandeep Chowta ( assuming he is orginal) ,ARR have delivered .Why is this situation ???( by the way ,i haven't heard ur BGM as i have not seen any movie scored by you ,only the songs !!!)
