I read an article on Kandukonden Kandukonden`s audio cassette release function in todays online Hindu in "talk of the town" section.VM sems to be very much frustrated with ARR especially the way in which his lyrics are treated by ARR of late!. Is it his response to the comment about the so called `lyrics` in Alaipayudhe?. Infact VM seems to have quoted the songs of "kandukonden Kandukonden" as one those examples. Guys, any comments.

pentium,
Mine was a friendly request, not an intention to mock you or be a snob. I'm sorry if you're hurt, but it helps things if you start out on a friendly note. See, no one loves a smartass.
We communicate to let others understand what we're saying, right? Then why not put a minimal effort into making your words easier to understand. If you give 40 words without a pause, I'm sorry, man, it's very hard to read.
Also, you keep hinting about your prowess in music but seem curiously shy about sharing it with others; this naturally creates suspicion in others about your alleged knowledge and affects you from being taken seriously.

If these are true now we know that IR was right in his decision...lesson to be learnt no one will allow anyone else to enter into their territory...from mother to music directors
time will answer all questions...one day the world will listen to this genius's music for a long time to come and he should start composing more music for the world to enjoy...again we have to wait I guess

I do not see anything wrong in VM's suggestion to ARR to reduce the unnecessary dominance of sound. Almost all the songs in KKKK has so much disturbing sound that the lyrics are not clearly understandable. E.g, Engeyenathu Kavithai song, the lyrics are not understandable when Srinivas sings the Nela Vandavudan..... line. Its a pity such a nice piece of lyric is sub-dued by the music.

The latest issue of Kumudam (a cinema special!) has quite a few interesting factfiles on TFM.
Here I am trying to give the gist of the 'tunuks' in my own words:
1. A new face is going to hit the scene with the film 'Majnu'. He is touted as the next puyal and his name is 'Harris' (forgot his full name). He is being promoted heavily by none other than our VM as the best thing to have happened to TFM industry.
2. One of the theories put forward by some 'veteran' in the filed is that VM has apparently realised that ARR is now going to do less of TFM and more of HFM and WM, and as a result it's going to be a case of 'Vayathula Adi' for him. Hence his outburst against ARR in public (so that all Tamil Pundits will eventually praise this 'TanMaanam Kaatha Verra Pulavar' who never bowed down to the pressure of MDs to do injustice to Tamil Annai.)
3. ARR and family is quite upset with the fact that this man (VM) was rude to him on several occasions and as a result, an entire batch of lyrisists are now hoping to get a call from the MD. Many were interviewed by ARR for a forthcoming movie and Ilaya Kamban (God, such conceit!) got selected. He's been asked to use 'Pudumayana Words' (hope not "Internet-in Devi adi nee, WebSite-in Aavi adi Nee")
So, another combo-saga comes to an end.

Hi Noel Petera(AKA Pentium)
I've been spending the last three weeks with ARR, Saira and their elder daughter Khatija and he's still here working of Andrew's Musical alongside Don Black and Shekar Kapoor.
Do tell me if you want to pass a message to ARR, as I meet with him quite regularly. Also I can pass your number to him if necessary!

By the way, it is indeed true that ARR is using a set of new lyricists for Thenaali. He did not say anything bad about Vairamutthu, but did state that the monopoly, of the Vairamutthu/ARR combination has gone a little far and that it was time to allow other talents to surface, e.g. Palani Bharathi, Vaali, Ilayakamban e.t.c.... Mr Vairamutthu even rang up Saira, who really was not in a position to comment on the situation!!!!!

Geetha,
You're very lucky, I should say.
Do you have any information on the 'Bombay Dreams' project which I presume he's working together with ALW and SK?
Is this musical going to be in Hindi? (I sincerely wish it's English)
Is he making the performers on stage sing in a karaoke style, where all sounds(vocals, instrumental included) are pre-recorded and only the main voice track is added 'live'?
Are all actor-cum-singers of Indian origin?
(Methinks Suchitra will force her way into singing at least one (non-descript) number)! What say?
Thanks
Neels

Neels: Suchithra is 6 months pregnant, I don't think that she'll be taking part. We went to the studio, they've just started to check out singers - these singers need to be able to sing in Mainly English and a bit of Hindi - Meera Syal will do the script, I believe and Don Black(Oscar winning lyricist and very nice man, he also did Andrew's Sunset Boulevard) is doing the lyrics.
Sivakumar, the sound engineer is also here. Yes, he's working with Shekar(I've met him a few times, he's not so friendly) and Andrew, who is really nice. Drummer Sivamani will be here in July for a Festival held by Andrew. ARR will be here for a couple more weeks, his family are back home.
By the way, Director Kathir never uses Vairamutthu, he always uses Vaali!!!!!
