  In this forum, Kanchana actually compiled a detailed list of
  PSusheela songs: an amazingly looong list, full of gems! I
  think Rajaraman has put that list in the TfmPages somewhere.

  One more anecdote from an article by MSV:
  
  In the 60's, during the recording session of a song for a movie by GN Velumani,
  PSusheela was found sitting alone in the Telephone room and crying.
  Everyone thought MSV had scolded her. One Rengaswamy, who was a friend
  of MSV and elder to him, went to MSV and shouted at him for upsetting
  PSusheela. MSV himself was shocked on hearing that because he never
  uttered anything harsh to her, not even make even a mild comment. So
  everyone was confused as to why PS was crying. When they went to her
  and enquired, she said: Oh, the song that is being recorded is such
  a beautiful song; MSV conveyed the tune so beautifully to me; but,
  in spite of repeated practice, I am unable to sing the tune perfectly;
  that has upset me and I could not avoid crying.
  
  MSV mentioned this to point out the degree of involvement that singers like
  Susheela and TMS had in those years. Unfortunately he never mentioned
  which song was the cause of PSusheela's agony. We could probably look
  at PS solos sung for GNV's Saravana Pictures' movies and make a guess.
  (Bhaaga Pirivinai, Paadha Kanikkai, Idhu Saththiyam?)

  In the movie, "Koondukkili" Sivaji's character sings a song "Sariyaa Thappa". It's an amazing inner dialogue that the character has about his struggle between temptation and the morality of the situation that tempts him. This song ranks with the best of inner struggles I have read. It's as powerful as the one that Shakespeare wrote for the Jewish character, Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. Can we discuss this song and the songwriter? Lyrics would be appreciated as well.

  I beleive this was written by someone called Bhaskaradas. I remember hearing this song in a program presented by AP Nagarajan in radio. I dont know whether this is a song for the stage or whether it was in a movie. Can anyone throw some light on this ?
