Hi musiclovers!!!
newtfmpage has been a nice place for people to share what they know with each other. Many people help you with what you want and become your pals.
But how many of these faces have you seen?
How many have you met in person?
How many have you atleast spoken to over phone?
How many have you chat with on a Messenger?
How many have you atleast mailed?!
Get-togethers happen every now and then. I can see people shaking their heads violently in disagreement, but they do happen! Atleast major get-together has happened to my knowledge.
Attended by : Saravanan, Lord Labaku Das, Prabhu, Suresh, Rajasaranam, Sriram Lakshman, Raj and C~P
Any such events that happened elsewhere? Would be nice to learn about such experiences.....Share benefits gained if any

Some thoughts were shared on the Singapore get-together and the very high possibilities it held for fisticuffs! :) So rest assured, though the chennai event is over without any casualties, this space will surely be watched for some real drama :)
As we moved out for the final round, SL and Saravanan dropped in for a word with PBS. Suresh elaborated on the efforts of DF-ers to produce an IR album, there were simply too many bottlenecks for that to realise. Then we talked about the interesting threads, Saravanan mentioned those catchy titles like "What do u think of shreya goshal?", "Asha v SJ - for SJ fans only", "All Karthik fans enter here", "Tipu sings for everyone, Tipu is number one","Karthik Raja Lounge", etc.. Purv/Vel/Mythila's appetite for raga was praised, young colts like Dinesh, Maddy, Pranav's passion for stirring the forum was admired...even the Weekend Thread received high commendation for giving opportunities for posting practice to rusty DF-ers in the absence of worthier threads! :)
Approbation was given to OISG's Yedhu Kavidhai, Sivaji's anti-social movies, and the 'Yedho Ninaivugal' thread. We wondered at the disappearance of Kaumudi, Music4Ever and Other_Side, who'd made good contributions. There were good laughs recalling Other_Side's thread "Why is it uneasy to listen to IR songs?", where LLD listed out names of diseases and disorders and subsequently the thread was brought back to track by Einstein Kiru! LLD's other famous scripts of ARR-IR dialog in RajyaSabha were quoted. There was another thread where a postor talked about good BGMs and said "ARR falls in this category", LLD posted immediately in that nick "Sorry that was a typo..ARR fails in this category", and there was chaos all around! C~P and LLD expressed suspicion that curryleaf was a guy. Concern was raised about the sorry state of Ehsaan's thread, but happily it's taken a turn for the better. Of course, the DF's Rock of Gibralter, Raghu's great SPB thread, was congratulated for crossing 2 years. Saravanan promised commitment to the VJ thread, while LLD pledged unswerving loyalty to the Weekend Thread!
That's about all that happened, and a mighty fine evening it was, what better place to discuss TFM than Chennai! Though majority of DF-ers are based in US, other than Chennai and probably Bay Area, there arent many feasible places left for a get-together. And yes, though it was the 12th anniversary of Aquib Javed shattering India with a hat-trick and 7-37, this was one evening which ended without regret, and crowned the next day with India's sweet revenge for the WC final defeat, even binary boy Agarkar contributing with runs! Enough digress...no firm decision was taken on the next one, November was discussed, but that really depends on the Nov-returnees keenness to meet, so the faster the info is given and the Saturday nailed down, the better it would be. Bon Voyage to Saravanan for his trip out of India, and for the rest, esp the ones who missed, bring in the suggestions and keep this thread active for more meets. Thanks to all who took the time out and to those who did the co-ordinating, better things are in store!

Tharpozhuthu Jail-il iruppavar sonnadhu...
From: Lord LabakuDas (@ 12.162.224.6) on: Mon Nov 3 06:03:06 EST 2003
Me reached there at 3:30.Already Suresh,Sriram Lakshman(SL) and Saravanan were there.Raj joined later. Then C~P,rajasaranam and Prabhu joined in order.I am not getting into detail abt the discussion as C~P and Prabhu covered almost everything.
SL said RajaG once mentioned that SPB actually meant "pesa kudathu",paadanum to P.Suseela in the "pesa kuudathu verum pechil sugam" song.:-))
As C~P said PBS was asking Saravanan "Athu naan paadina paattu thaaney?",I heard from reliable sources that VIP's in TFM field wud ask
Saravanan when shud they celebrate their birthdays.
It was very comical to see Saravanan and SL tryin to hide from PBS always in afraid that he might get hold of them and talk non-stop.
SL was in full form and he was imitating everyone from sivaji to thengai seenivasan to sivakumar..very jovial and down to earth..SL left to coimbatore the same day night..
I requested rajasaranam to ask Saravanan a question abt the production company name for some junk movie. He asked something and Sara said the production company name and the year the movie was released and two songs from that.I dont remember which movie was that.
prabhu arrived as he promised..hatsoff to him for
making this happen and visiting chennai only for the meeting purpose.he reached chennai by 4pm..and left the same day night to kovai
Raj came after me and spent sometime with us and left as he had some work.As soon as Raj introduced himself to Prabhu, he said "oh yeah i
know which Raj are you...your ip is ...your DOB is ....your passport # is ...your sun sign is..." Raj was totally amused. To be frank, myself and C~P still doesnt know which Raj came for
the meeting, as we hav enough Raj's here.:-))
we spent nearly 4 hours there..lot of things were discussed..C~P and myself as usual silent spectators..May be we had made an chatter-box impression among DF'ers..but real life'la naan romba silent'ba :-) C~P pathi theriyadhu..and now with his latest interactions with Nisha i doubt that silent and calm look ;-)
sorry abt my camera..the photo didnt come out well..hope others photo came well atleast..
Most of the DF'ers were discussed. Famous postings, fights, groups, people who made a impact on others and dissapeared, biases, fanhood, fanatiscm everything was discussed.
paran-speaker meeting and paran's blue jersey was
also discussed..he he
Manisegarans posts were also discussed ;-)
Slowly one by one ledft.SL had to pack things and he left first.Suresh and Saravanan left after that. Appuram myself, prabhu, rajasaranam and C~P were talking for sometime and then everyone parted.Rajasaranam dropped me at DMS.:-)
I think Saravanan was down with fever now, once he gets well he might come with other things which we three hav missed..Suresh is busy with his work.No idea abt SL.

LLD-- Don't think it was your's camera's fault--I strongly suspect that the punniyavaan whom we entrusted our cameras with to click us all was handling a camera for the first time in his life, and was too shy to reveal this fact--I wish he had understood the importance of the momentous occasion and had admitted his ignorance, for incredible as it may sound, he has not clicked the snap at all in my camera :(
I got the roll developed today, and imagine my dismay when I couldn't find our snap at all--a repeated close scrutiny of the negatives reveals that that @#$%^&* has not clicked at all- the previous photos(taken at home on Diwali) are followed by those taken in Pondicherry where I had gone on Sunday, i.e. the day after our meet:((
My fever, that had all but vanished, has come back with renewed vigour with this disappointment. Prabhu--hope he has not played the same dirty trick with your camera!
Read the accounts of the get-together :)) As LLD said, whole-hearted thanks to Prabhu for taking the initiative to arrange such a meeting, and to Suresh for coordinating with everyone. And yes, it was a great gesture on Prabhu's part to come to Chennai just to meet us all.
C~P and LLD were the quietest--guess they were busy observing the others and making mental notes to taunt them later (Still waters run deep and all that--) As LLD says, C~P may change now, with his new found friendship. C~P, you make like to learn a song from the film Sanam Teri Kasam- a song that goes 'Jaane jaan'. Now don't ask me why--the chorus will tell you all ;))
It was great fun- full of warmth, good jokes, amusing recollections--am still amazed how most of us who were meeting each other for the first time felt so much as ease--it was as though we had known each other for ages. Feels real good when I think of it :)
( After a two hour chat with PBS, when SL mentioned to him that he(SL) and I are meeting each other for the first time, PBS was simply dazed--'I felt you both have been friends for a long time"--he said!)
And finally thanks to newtfmpage for making such memorable moments happen!
