What do we want from IR in future ?

  Raja,
  Vijayalakshmi Navaneedhakrishnan is an exponent of folk songs. she sings those gramiya padalgal very well and has performed in tv numerous times. She also seems to hold a doctorate iin research into folk songs and so is her husband- and they perform together. She also appeared in a movie- forgot the name- with siththara as the heroine. You must have heard that 'ching chak' song.

  oh my god... what happened to me...?! i know this 'ching chak' song.. and i'm unable to recall it now.. all i'm getting in my mind now is 'pacha kalaru chingu cha.. manja kalaru chingu cha..' can someone help me recall that folk song please.. :-))

  i think the biggest problem is Illayaraja has not worked with directors of national appeal. Who knows if Raja had composed for Mani a lil bit more or even for Roja, he would have been in national demand. I think Raja is beyond that and he is just composing for the sake of it. i say this cos he is not doing music for any of the top stars. So Raja is a legend and we shld really stop worrying abt him

  It is not the case that "Illayaraja has not worked with directors of national appeal", But IR has STOPPED working with such directors. I agree that he need not have to patch up with them to be back in the top-circuit, but let him not compose albums like chinnadurai for reasons whatsoever!!

  Can one person be the reason for his success in a film industry? Probably not. IR fans failed to realized that IR cannot succeed in a film industry by him self, so does the other MDs. It's a team work. Believe or not, directors, Lyricist, directors all contributes to the success. What a successful MDs need a good lyricist, good director etc. Can you list the movies that came recently with IR music have great picturization, very decent lyrics? If you still persist that IR has the talent, we don't care about rest, oh well, What can I say. It's like saying, 'Pandayam pidi naan kettu kaatukiren'.
  
  I believe, many of you would say that many mike's and tousar's padam being a hit because of IR. I'm sorry to say that IR was part of the reason, not the whole reason. Otherwise all the movies by MIKE and IR would be the hit. It didn't work out. Remember when mike failed to realize that SNS voice is very important for his success, he dissapeared in the film industry.

  A greatness never dies but it lingers on. Making a comparison with IR and ARR is childish. ARR would have got a fair knowledge of what tamil cinema music was from IR's old movies. With modernisation and innovation he's managed to ugrade tamil music to greater hights, while we should appreciate this we also shouldn't forget the good old days of IR. Now he is old and one cannot expect him to keep delivering the goods, if that is the case Sunil Gavasker would still be opening the batting for India. Come on fellows come up with some constructive critisism without having to say some thing becaus you have to.

  i think ir needs to work with more innovative technicians.and bring out more quality music.or he should bring out albums where he could really express himself.
