Dear Friends,
Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!
I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!
Let us all do it at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/us/features/topten/
Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

What a silly thing to say.
It is a proven fact that ONLY IR fans sink this low.
Fans of class music like those of MSV and ARR have dignity.

Hey wait for just one or two days man...lets see what happens..As far as I am concerned I want an Indian song to win...and I voted only once..(before knowing the rigging methodology) to VM...So let RKT/VM win but no DDP...

Avenslav is Ave(n)rslav(e) i think.
Poatu thankkunga!Sermonizing ...hyprocritical..NEUT(what is that in English?)
Sour grapes yarukku....
With VM winning ,me being branded a HCARRF it wont be me!
With no MSV song ever went for this poll and no one ASKED for voting it wont be for me ,again!Personally i voted for Imagine and voted once!
Some one wanted to make an ordiNARY song into an extraordiNARY song using "NARY" techniques must complain sour grapes!

well, NEUT was short for NEUTRAL. You know so much about TFM (due respect paid). What are you doing in this thread? posting so many times....if one where to count ..maybe you,WN and AY can compete for the most number of posts in this thread!!!!!!!!
You posted once in a poll you think should not exist!!! You sermonise about the loss of ethical standards but take an active interest in the proceedings. To me....this is hypocritical...it may be something else for you....
I still wonder what the state of this thread would be if HCMSVFs had also managed to get one up there.....maybe they did try but didn't have enough numbers to even rig the poll..

"if one where to count ..maybe you,WN and AY can compete for the most number of posts in this thread!!!!!!!!"
Yes. And the reason for tat is simple. Unlike some cowards here, we dont use diff IPs & diff identities to post. Bcos we have the guts to stand up for our opinions & dont post simply to make PAs on others.

Isnt it interesting to note tat everytime we approach tis topic, some ppl r hell-bent upon twisting the discussion and stopping the flow of ideas. I wonder why they find it so difficult to digest tis topic. Maybe, after all the hours spent rigging, they dont want to face up to the harsh reality tat even if they succeeded, their efforts may sink w/out a trace. Also they can't make sweeping statements like "The world now recognises the BEST COMPOSER in the WORLD" and get away wit it, w/out sounding silly even to themselves.
Watever may be, let us get back on track.
"IR' music is that which will be relished by a toddler to a septuavegannonvegetarian (i forgot the spelling) it means those who have musical appreciation abilities will only embrace IR's compositions as no.1 and that is a long way off for all people to attain that position of omniscience, in other words an awareness that gets one closer to the divine!"
Well said, Buddha.
But despite the wide range of appeal IR's music may have, the disadvantage wit the BBC polls is the fact it is online, and how many ppl from diff walks of live spend much time on internet for such things (apart from chking email/research & other essentials)? I mean, how much had BBC done in advertising tis polls offline? And will BBC announce the results in diff languages in diff stations so ppl from all various corners of the world will get to hear about it?
"BBC POll is just another step to making more and more people aware of something they would not otherwise have believed. In due course, we can see the surge...."
Let's hope so.
And adding to tat, I hope BBC & the world media will give the same treatement to RKT/VM or even DDP, if any of these topped the chart, as they wud to say, a Mariah Carey no.

• Votes received from 155 countries/islands
• Around 7000 different songs were selected
• Bob Dylan had 16 songs nominated
• Two votes were cast for Who let the dogs out
• The song White Christmas received eight votes
I had a feeling this would happen. particularly for who let the dogs out, and it won grammy. man, there is a limit i say. send the dogs to catch those two voters ;--)
Pretty soon, Vande Mataram will be most popular song on the planet and it matters because it represents 1 billion voices or people (population, populace, vox populi, popul, pope, pop, pop (malayalee), pap, pappad, pappa, appalam etc... all mean, i mean, means popularity ;------)

Egg on the face of every body here. See, finally we let an Indian song to slip to second place...All because of our diversity in unity. What happened...? A paki militant came inbetween two rivals..but Indians.. The west was cunning enough..they suddenly put their commander on top list and said that he is the king here after....
See, pretty soon we will be under American rule. But this time round we won't get independence even after 3000 years...because we don't deserve it ..we don't learn from it....
Sorry guys....I would have been happy if VM/RKT had come first...RKT at No. 4...I didn't expect this...come on...
Hope CNN will bring an other poll..we will show who IR/ARR is there...forget India totally...who needs this country.

Between two rivals? What do you mean by that. VM at #2 is not ARR album; it is 1950 one...
