Karthik Raja's DUM DUM DUM

Any one heard the songs of DUM DUM DUM? I think it's out today. Can anyone give a review of the songs since it's a much awaited songs from MANI-KR Combination.

  'Rahasiyamaai' has sme shades of 'Bindumaalini/malayamarudham' raagas I guess. Man, does it really impress me!
  
  'Un perai sonnaaley' reminds me instantly of 'Poraaley ponnuthaayi pogirapokkil manasaithottu'! But it is quite appealing. Unni at his best. Why Sadhana Sargam again? God save these folks! (Hey, appaada, Bhavadhaarini oru paatu kooda paadalai).
  
  Desingu raja, Athaan varuvaaga - are equally good. This album is a surefire hit. Way to go KR. Mmm, MR has the capacity to extract the best for his productions. He could get the best songs even from Deva for Nerukku Ner and Aasai (though many were lifted)

  This is the latest album by karthik raja.it has six songs. for the first time kr has attempted westernised folk.
  
  The first song athiri which is used in films promos has a very catchy tune in the saranam but the pallavi lacks punch.it has got very good piece of guitar work which gives the song a special status.
  
  The second song desingu raja is again a folk tune with lot of harmonies.very soothing to the ears.
  
  The third song un perai solli is a duet sung by unnikrishnan is beautifuly composed.it has the touches of vintage illaiyaraja.
  
  The fourth song athan varuvaga somewhat resembles the oldie kannan varuvan kathai solluvan.only slight resembalance. this song is also good.sung by malgudi shuba.
  
  Fifth song ragasiyamai sounds somewhat week. maybe kr wanted a song like snehidiye by rahman.i feel this song is little dull.
  
  Sixth song krishna krishna has a ABBA hangover the starting lines and harmony is in ABBA's style.this song is
  for dancing youth. nothing much can be said about this.
  
  Totally this album is fresh. though i listened it only once i liked it.after ullam kollai poguthey which had was in western flavour this folkish album will also do well in the market.
  
  Kr's stong points of vocal harmony,mixing,arrangements
  can be seen all through the album.
  the album was released yesterday.

  Desingu Raja is nice and i believe Ragasiyamai, although sounds good, could have been better. All the rest sounded ok. But overall, compared to his previous 'adventures', this seems to be relatively successful. Gawd, naam iruvar and vanchinathan.... its going to take a few more works from karthik of 'dumm dumm dumm' caliber just to take 'em out of my mind. I just wish he does more of this .As they say, 'marupadiyum murungai marathil eramal irudhal sari'.

  But i read in some film magazine that Kamalahassan wants to sign karthik raja for " Robot" ? Is it right ? I know it's shankar movie and he always worked with ARR. Can you clear my doubt ?

  As long as Shankar wields the megaphone, Kamal will not have much saying about the MD. Long back they have decided ARR as the MD and in recent times the saying is that the movie is shelved ( temporarily !?!). One reason mentioned is Kamal can't allocate bulk dates to Shankar. I don't know the real reason. But if given a choice Kamal will not go for ARR. He aired his views on ARR publically few times and all are aware of that.

  Karthik Raja mentioned in one of his interviews that he is doing another Hindhi Movie, Forgot the details.,
  
  He composed two songs in Alka Yagnik's latest Hindhi Album.,

  he has used harish raghavendra for two songs and chithra sivakumar as well.its nice that he has gone in for fresh talents like harish raghavendra (who sang nirpadhuvae in bharathi and alagiya thee in minnale) and lyricists like vijay and muthukumar who are really promising

  KR also scored 2 songs (or maybe more) for Ila Arun's last album...called haule haule. Jawahar Wattal had scored a couple of songs as well in that album. The album sank without a trace...wonder why KR did it in the first place!

  I Love It and others,
  The storyline (if there's one) that we were conjecturing is matching with the movie synopsis, now available on the site.
  But I guess the run-of-the-mill simple story would be given a fresh treatment by the debutant director. Looks like a sure-fire entertainer, appealing to the masses and classes alike.
