Yaaro
Caught you red-handed!
I did not say naan pesa was a sad song-neither was unnidam mayangugiren-I said most of the songs you have listed are sad songs period.
Reminding you of what you said earlier: all the songs you have listed as love songs with a tinge of sadness are all,in fact, sad songs.
I told you that you are confused! :)
If paatukku paateduthu is not a sad song what else is
Go to http://newtfmpage.com/tfsa/english/tfsa_eng.htm click on "P" on songs, and check out the lyrics. This song fits EXACTLY with what eden wants.
I told you that you are confused! :)
you are being unusually stubborn.
Hahahahahahaha! :)
so here you mean this is is a song which you consider equivalent to thalladum song which was a helpless song-so this also must be a helpless song.
Who says it is a helpless song? Me? No! It is you! You are putting words in my mouth.
This is precisely the reason why I was avoiding "discussing" this topic with you.
hurrah-now ROTFL is also educating us about love.speaking of which IR had a lovely song ...
Smart guy. You don't have to admit any thing by saying this. :)
You repeatedly keep saying that you never said you did not like IR-but I am yet to notice a posting from you appreciaitng his music.
That is because you are too busy looking out on how to criticise me. :)

A little clarification:
To be popular, what you need is machcham.
Agreed. Also some teeny weensy bit of talent?
I was refering to ARR here. Nobody is doubting IR's talents.

Ade akang katta kooveh ROTFOOL,
Nee IR'ai pathi pesathei! Don't try to cover up and going into his fans good books by favouring IR all of a sudden and by trying to act so wise. What a fool you are. We all can see what you're trying to do. Why, too much mud thrown at you izit?

not sure if this song had been mentioned before....
1. Raja Chinnah Raajaah song - a old SJ or PS number, can't remember.....
the following are quiet numbers - evoking a different kind of emotions
1. Mounamae Mounamae, vasantha kalaama
2. Singara Pennoruthi, Nalla serrana pennoruthi
3. Thenae Then Paandi Meenaee
4. Deiveega Raagaam
5. Poove Sempoovae
and many more are there which would fit the above category..... no patience to list them here :-)

mr smile sir, you have given good examples of ARR songs with enough complexity..but I think they fall under fills/harmony. They are not necessarily 'contrapuntal' - the key word is 'against'. (Enlighten me if I missed something)Do you mean to say I cannot use a contrapuntal arrangement as a signature/trademark of IR in TFM ? (Another example of this, prelude of unai kaanum from unnai naan sandhithEn).
(BTW, I dont think I would ever underestimate, you and Sam have always been correcting my biases :))
(Peeps, listen to mudhal mariyAdhai songs with a headphone, other than the tabla/vocals,you can hear the bass guitar clearly. It is there in most songs of IR, but not very prominent. It is not heard that much radios/cheap stereos)

Thenae Then Paandi Meenaee and Deiveega Raagaam are indeed soulful numbers, although the first one is more of motherly love than the other kind. :)

As I have said before, Toyotas produce the most brakes but does that mean that they are better than say, Volvos' brakes? :)
Secondly, we know that this forum is filled with IR enthusiasts, so it is only natural that IR takes up the max in any listing related to him.
So, discussion-ai thodarvomaa? :)

Just go thru the list of posts in emotional songs-99pc of them do not post in df at all-but dont worry.ROTFL has got his blinkers on and sees only stright-not right or left.
ROTFL,whatever you say is correct.
Paatukku P is such a happy song-I have been repeatedly bursting in tears after listening to the song and shedding tears of ecstasy-has filled my soul with such bright sunlight .thanks for the link.
I have been helplessly singing un kannil yesterday. My wife seems to be in a good mood yoday-I am still singing the song-today,of course, with love.

Let us analyse your statements and see how many assumptions you have made...
Paatukku P is such a happy song
There are sad songs. And if some of them are not sad, they are happy. It is automatic and there are no in betweens. (Yaaro's theory)
I have been helplessly singing un kannil yesterday.
Since "helpless" was your choice, I can't help you. :)
My wife seems to be in a good mood yoday-
But off course. If it ain't sad, it must be happy. :)
I hope in the near future college students will begin learning this "Yaaro's theory". :)
I am still singing the song-today,of course, with love.
I didn't know you were that old. :)

WN,
it's not so much that no one could match wits with ROTFL. It's just that he was not willing to debate with Yaaro, the one person who wanted a debate. ROTFL in all his wisdom declared that Yaaro did not have the sufficient knowledge to argue with him! Of course in the same breath he claimed that he never backs down from a challenge, which might seem incongruous at first because he just did back down, but knowing ROTFL it makes a weird kind of sense.

''knowing ROTFL it makes a weird kind of sense''-make it weird kind of 'non'sense:-)
how long can you argue with someone who just argues for sake of arguing and disagrees for the sake of disagreeing?
speaking of whom, where is he?the great man is resting I suppose ,for his next innings.

Nice try.
Anyone who reads your posting at surface level might be fooled. But all that is needed for a more complete picture, is to read the old responses. You can't fool all the people all the time.
Yaaro
In spite of some HCIRFs coming and saying out neat that to make such comparisons is futile, you still maintain your stand.
I have shown many many times where you have flawed. Did you answer any of them?
Being a gentleman, I offered you a way out by saying that all is forgiven.
And how did you pay back? By making a posting that would best fit you!
When a statement has been made in haste & in the heat of the moment, and when it is shown clearly that it is wrong, at least be gracious enough to admit that you have been mistaken and that you have learnt some thing from the episode.
If your ego is at stake, you don't even have to say so much. Just refrain form the meesai-mann statements. :)
It really looks like Eden is NOT going to come back, so let us stop the digression and continue with the thread.....
