Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

The biggest negative point of Iruvar was that it was released in India (especially tamil nadu).
Mani should have clipped of the songs and should have released it only abroad. Films like Iruvar and Anbe Sivam are way ahead of the comprehension level of art seen among tamil masses.
Come on! We are still used to Vikram jumping out of a train in Signal and haviung time to dance with Jothika in Dhool. We have a long way to go before stuff like Iruvar can be accapted mainstream.

rajasaranam,
You are the first (and probably the only one) complaining abt the screen play. Or atleast the minority.
All I have heard as complaint is the shocking dialogues and scenes that were just tooo over. I myself agree with that. However as a director shankar should have kept those scenes but could have refined the abaasam a lil bit.
The film has been hailed for its technicality and I am sure you agree with that. The biggest negative is that the film has over expectation and some scenes come as shocker to some ppl. Thats it.

To all
For your information about TI VS Boys: Tulluvathoilamai audio cassete was released before Minnale and Dheena. The movie also was supposed to released before these movies. If audio cassete released means the story, screenplay was decided before the cassete release.Due to financial problem kasturiraja could not finish the movie. That time shankar was doing Nayak(hindi version of mudalvan). Go and check TI audio cassete you can find that.

So you mean to say Shankar knew the story, screenplay of TI just by listening to the audio cassette 2 years before the movie's release?
The person here said that Boys was 50 % shot even before TI (the movie) released. To put to rest the unjust accusation that Shankar copied Selvaraghavan.
Anyway the biggest negative of Boys is that you cannot recommend it to your parents or elders. But I guess Shankar was prepared for that.

"However why dont you guys raise such a hellish uproard when Kadhal Konden and TI released? Those weren;t too decent either. TI had teen sex and Kadhal Konden had silly moaning sounds!!
Shankar should be appreciated for his bold attempt but I personally feel that Sujatha's dialogues and some scenes were just too much and could have been refined a little bit. Mind you! Just "refined" and not taken away!!!! "
Before asking others to do something, why don't you do it in the first place? Why don't you accept TI and KK as bold attempts by Selvaragavan. If selvaragavan takes, those are silly moaning sounds. If shankar makes, he is just BOLD. You are a hypocrite!

i jus wanted the movie to get flop. go back to old responses in this forum to check out where i said "lets wait for the movie to flop" a month b4 the movie was released. the reason i anticipated for its flop was the music - as its an alien music to us and already tamizh makkal hav rejected pop albums here. but iam happy now that the movie is flop - watever the reason may.

Ok rajasaranam and Natamai
Here we go....
I have admitted that Shankar shud have refined some scenes. Both Selvaraghavan and Shankar are culpable to an extent. However I would have urged both of them to keep the content but just refine it a bit.
I also appreciate Selvaraghavan for his two of-beat films. However I feel that Selvaraghavan could have refined some overly shocking scenes. Like u dont needa kid marning sound to suggest she has been sexually abused. "Aaah vallikuthu" was just toooo cheap and shocking.
I did not say Shankar is BOLD because he strongly showed Abaasam. I said he was BOLD tomake a movie that was out of his viewing group (i.e. families) and make one for wholly teenagers! If Vikraman makes a thriller tomorrow I will call it a BOLD attempt
Rajasaranam, regarding IR moaning sounds, I dont give a sshit about IR's sounds in his music. He can use whatever he wants. I brought that out in comparison to your slandering on ARR that he composed for erotic "sounding" songs.
By merely exposing your cunning desire to yearn for the film's flop you have exhibited your militant and stubborn love for IR's music and u pray for other'sfailure.
There are two groups of ppl:
1. They feel sad if they fail and they dont care what other's fortunes are.(Harmless and nice grp)
2. This group feels sad if they fail and even sadder if others win. They feel happy and pray for other's failure. (The most treacharous wicked animals in the whole world) Unfortunately Tamil Nadu is fuill of group 2!

After attempting for several years, but not very succesfully, through his Vasant-Ganesh and other West-aping novels, finally Sujata has found the best medium of Cinema to express his perversions and repressed sexuality. Well done Sujata. Keep it up!

Vulgar scenes are deleted from Boys.
In Dinamani they have put an ad asking every family to see the movie as the vulgarity is now removed. Phew what a business tactic!
I dont know what will transpire now. What next?

rajasaranam,
from your posts where you blatantly say that you just want the movie to flop in one way or the other, i feel it doesnot show the person in good light.
Just coz u r IRs fan doesnot mean that all the other MDs and their fans should go to hell. if that is going to be your opinion, there is no meaning in posting your views and expecting ppl to reply to that.
hope u come up with some meaningful arguments.

rajasaranam,
i am very sorry. but i don't find any difference between ARR fans who want his movies to win just because he has composed music for it & guys who want the movie to fail for the same reason. Interestingly, you have been repeatedly blaming the first group, where you are the latter ! ethuku evar padam release agarathuku oru maasam munadi erunthu 'pray' panraram.. karumam !
being too big a fanatic even spoils a human's attitude ! i used to find the same problem with rajini fans during my school days. let God save our land and our mannin mainthargal :-)
