Ezgavathu Manithan has the Best Bharathiyar Songs So Far!!

Guys I am back Thanks to your kind words There do exist few good men out there!! :)
Now to the topic. I hope most of you are familiar with the movie Ezhavathu Manithan by Dir. Hariharan and debut movie of Mr Raghuvaran(i may be corrected on this). Its a nice movie with great songs. Most of songs are taken from Bharathiyar songs.
Excellently composed by Mr. L.Vaidyanathan eldest brother of the violin trio L.Subramanian and L. Shankar. I think best tuned songs of Bharathiyar songs so far is from this movie
songs like 'Kaakai Chiraginile','Veenaiyadi nee enakku' . The compositions are modern and semi classical as well.

  in sindhu bhairavi it is 'manadhil urudhi vendum, vakinilae inimai vendum' song ie from bharathy's creation. as clarified, 'moham yennum theyil yen manam' was VM's product. i think, in some interview, VM said that DIR and/or MD "asked me to wright like another kavingar(!) and said that u'll get National award." i think he did not get national award for that film. the film 'mandhil urudhi vendum' by IR also has some Bharathi songs.
  
  Though i havent heard all of the songs in yezhaavadhu manidhan i still rate 'kakai chiraginilae' from that movie is the best in Tamil Films' rendition of this song of Mahakavi. Deva's adoption of this tune for the prelude of 'nilavai kondu va katilil katti vai' from 'vaale' shows how a MD is influenced by another MD's tune for a well known song.
  
  one more interesting point, i think, nalladhor veenai seidhae is the bharathy song which has been utilised more in TFM, is it correct?

  one more typo, its "Deva's adoption of this tune for the INTERLUDE" and not "Deva's adoption of this tune for the prelude"
  
  its the last typo correction. even if some more are there please ignore them. i tend to make more mistakes while trying to correct a mistake

  Dear friends,
  As far as Bharathiar songs are concerned, only IR makes them live. I think other people do the composition without altering its originality. IR does it without loosing its originality, but also with a lust to hear it repeatedly. For e.g. listen to 'Suttum sudar vizhi' in Kandukondaen Kandukondaen, you will not feel a great divinity or great feel in your heart. But hear to 'Ninai charanadaindein kanmma' in Bharathi. You'll feel the difference. That's the success formula of IR. If you heared the climax song i.e. 'Nallathore veenai seide' in Bharathi, you can notice when Mano starts, it goes great only, when at a place IR starts in his own voice, you get goose bumps. That's the success formula of the movie and also the MD. Those who didn't see that movie, please do get the VCD and see, else do hear the music after 9.00 in night and that too in a darkest room with nobody near by you. you'll feel

  UV nice thread. EM songs stand for superb yet simple. This is the power of melody. But one thing is that he has used already popular songs. Only IR used song like Nirpaduve which was not popular in film as well as non film albums. At the same time though I enjoyed nallathor veenai from Bharathy esp IR joining Mano on high pitch note, gives a great effect. But I will treat it as good effect not great melody. The same in similar type done in Marupadiyum (nallathor vennai- but vali has added(?) some words to it, called it as his song) where Janaki does this sound jugglery.

  Have you heard about M.B. Srinivasan, a music director who is no more and his youth choir? He has composed music for more than twenty Bharathiyar songs for his group and they sing it even to this day. I don't think there is anybody else who can compose Bharathi's songs in the spirit with which Bharathi originally expressed. You must listen to the youth choir sing those songs (especially the one on Mazhai). You will be thrilled. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be much takers to listen to Bharathi. If given an opportunity for a public performance, the youth choir group will be too happy to perform Bharathi's songs. Please do let me know if anyone is interested. After M.B. Srinivasan, the group's members have set to music some of Bharthi's wonderful pieces.

  The late M.B.Srinivasan was a wonderful music director. He tried to create a kind of choir music with songs that emphasized on National Integration. I remember hearing his choir sing many Barathi songs with just a Harmonium, a Tabla and around 40 singers who sang in parts. I dont know if those songs are available commercially, and I would appreciate if some one could throw more information on his works.
