  If whatever Ilaya Raja achieved in fame in the world Music arena (much less than ARR), it was due to his 5th grade training in western Music.
  Your knowledge in a limited field like Carnatic Music will not take you out of TN. What happened to Chaudayya and Kunnakudi - supposed to be masters in Violin (again a western instrument?),
  But look at L. Subramanian and his much talented brother L. Shanker , they achieved universal fame because of their knowledge of western music.
  
  They are not even remembered today! Can your local musicians like IR compose the classics of Beethoven, Mozart and Bach ?
  
  With the notations of western music anything can be mastered including Hindustani and carnatic in a scientific way. Carnatic Music without Violin ( a western instrument) is a dead duck! Atleast the North indians have sarangi an out and out beautiful melodious instruments for classical Hindustani concert. You will point out "Veenai" But veenai is a poorly limited stuff that it does not have "Gamaka" (continuity of one note to another)
  
  If you are a fan of IR, OK keep it up show your loyalty. But when begin to talk about music you must have some rudimental knowledge about Music and its concepts. With out the influence of western music you will be only hearing " Neee thaya Ra Ra Ra" for ever.

  In the PITHAMAGAN RELEASED thread,when the same Velji was degrading the film and passing comments like"NO MORE DISCUSSION NEEDED AND THE FILM IS CRAP",I had used the word "Unakku pesavenaamna pothikkittu po"
  with Velji and for that i was critisised as being indecent in the forum.And i had apologised later(though i was blasted with more indecent stuff by

  Yes! Piano or any other string instruments do not have Gamakamm except the Hawaiian Guitar which can be made to produce Gamakam with a special pluck. But wherever Gamakam was required, Beethoven used Violin, Cello violin, Base violin, viola and so on. But We do not have a native instrument which can produce Gamakam except for the wind instruments which can produce gamakam to a limited extend.
  
  Kindly do not retort by vile language. if you have a different opinion please say so. I will accept. But as some people are doing please don't drag this fine forum into "Kulai Chandai"

  But with all due respect, it was YOU who started the use of 'vile language' in this thread. Assuming you are not the teacher who gave a failing mark to Raja in his 6am class, you have no way of knowing that he only passed 5am class.
  
  I was only picking on that. And I am sure it was that part of your statement that enraged other, less eloquent, Raja fans. Hope you see my point.
