The most awaited sandiyar album is released .I heard all the songs. It has totally ten songs out of which 6 songs are sung by kamal himself and two are sung by illayaraja and 2 numbers by shreyaghosal. All the songs are perfect folk and 100% traditional tamil folk songs and the lyrics are excellent in the madurai slang and all are situational songs.I will meet u again with a detailed review.buy the album immediately for die-hard fans of IR

illayraja's songs rose to dizzy heights because his songs were renderedmostly by SPB. He is missing and virumandi is just another from the desks of raja. It wont have any impact on the audiences

The biggest mistake that Kamal and IR did was pretty much all the songs were sung by Kamal himself. Should've tried some other singers especially for the songs "Madavillakka" and "Unna vida". Other than that, the music is just wonderful. Hope Raja does something great in BGM like Hey ram and Pithamagan

Nice article indeed. But there is some substance indeed in what this hindu munnai people are doing. Hindu gods and especially brahmins are the target of tamil movie makers. If it is one movie or two movies it is ok. But why in all movies?
Idhula enna nyayam? It is a controversial topic.
One more thing. Do you people by any chance read thuglak? Excellent magazine and articles appear over there. For every question these so called paguthu ariva vyadhi. sorry pagutharivuvadhi asks, he gives excellent replies.

the article is a kuzambiya kuttai. and she raises multiple issues but all are baseless and ridiculous

not entirely baseless but these are allegations that can be made on any or atleast most film personalities in the tamil cine-political murky land. maniratnam would be better target.
and btw, thuglak sucks.

In a nutshell the industry is all about making money and people are ready to put up any number of faces in order to do that. Infact it is a business. Irrespective of what they talk or do things, the bottomline is M O N E Y.
We fans get decieved by their talks(more if it is intellectual) and hype up a lot about their images. End result being some guy making money that too tons of them.
Real people who make movies for a social cause can seldom be found.
If Kamal has so much of aversion towards capitalistic ideas (as portrayed in Anbesivam), why does he have to promote the movie in USA. Why not do it in Moscow? And why does he goes gaga over Oscar awards all the time and why does he have to attend Makeup workshops in Hollywood?
He is a guy who does not have any true colour other than make money, more money and some more money.
Iam pretty sure this idea of mine will tickle off all the kamal fans. Iam one of them except that I just enjoy the kamal whom I see in the silverscreen.

ASH ,
I think Kamal is not opposed to learning from US or marketing something in US ..But i guess he is against those which will make us slaves of US ,depreive work for local lads ......
Kamal has clearly told that he is contesting for oscars but for other international film festivals ....
the author has miserably faile din his writing by seeing only teh negative things in Kamal .....In that way that article is completly biased and not a complete honest analysis .....

"If Kamal has so much of aversion towards capitalistic ideas "
Nallasivam has aversion towards "capitalistic ideas"..not Kamal. What next? Kamal has to go on a killing spree to be consistent with Alavandaan Nandu???

I am very much against casteism and opportunism. But this article is totally unfair to Kamal. He is business minded. But in this society, even the talented people confuse their talent with commercial success. So I dont see anything wrong in Kamal being commercial about things. He probably does not know linguistic/social/cultural history of our country like the writers in thinnai (I think they are all very learned people) or for that matter technology (which the writers never misses to make fun of) or very original in his creative exercises (again the writer appropriately wields his sword). But I dont think he has any agenda other than his own commercial success. There are still some people in the movie industry overty and covertly pushing/vending casteism. It is hard for me to believe that Kamal is of that type.

the article.. may have bought the short comings of the person called kamal... but it is unfair to associate thing with the actor called kamal...
1. i think the first think that as a producer wants is his films to do well... would the author bear full responsibilty for the debacles in his life..if all movies had a social message and the film flops big time.....
2. the author should try to change the people than kamal... if the people are willing to accept films like anbe sivam then kamal need not resort to "masala/manipulating movies"
2. the author was totally off limits when she mentioned about madhavan and hey ram .... the next thing she would say is "kamal keeps calling himself "the son of sivaji" for his films to do well.. grow up author... marketing is required for every movie..... he is in this era....rajni often does this...but we cant call them people without a social consciousness...
4. why doesnt the author mention anything about his good deeds that his fan base has been doing right from distributing text books to blood donation...is it becos the blood donation is given only to people from the upper class....
5. Appreciate art as it is supposed.... thever magan..demanded everything it had.....i wouldnt imagine the movie sans caste.... castism is prvalent in india.. its a bare fact....not by talking about it doesnt mean things are going to subside....
6. if people wants movies with social messages... the author should write to the government and ask them to make such movies.... and importantly ..why is the government not using the media and films in particular..to get my messages...the author can collect fund on kamal's behalf and donate the money to star in movies preaching messages...
7. it is easy for someone to critize with the pen.. becos we are the undeserving lot... all we need is a few words and our so - called ken of knowledge..... you have to be where kamal is..then you will realize it is hard being a superstar....
8. kamal did say he would come to politics..but with flowers.... didnt the author read that... it would be for a helping cause...just like doing good deeds...the author needs to upgrade!!!
9. why is kamal being targetted ..just for being a brahmin and trying to follow an aeist path....
10. what does the author want kamal to be "a perfect human being? " ..if thats what she/he expects ..common show us who is a perfect human being???
and i am a christian ..i have not a fanatic of kamal...and i do appreciate good write up in thinnai.. but critizing for the sake of attention.. grow up people!!...
btw ... me a big fan of rajni..and ir

This writer is completely off her rocking chair.
She/He says the Hey Ram 'should' have been a voice against Hindutva. Who is she to decide that? Did Kamal ever tell her that it will be?
Kamal has always openely admired Raja and claimed him a friend and a genius. Isn't Raja an 'untouchable'? She loudly proclaims that Kamal has no 'untouchable' friends. Does she know all of Kamal's friends?
Is Kamal supposed to not like Sundara Ramasamy and Rajanarayanan simply because they are Brahmins?
Is Gnanakooththan the Brahmin the only one to ever write about Kamal's acting? The white dude at the Toronto Film Festival wrote that Kamal is one of the three best actors in the world today? Is the white dude a Brahmin too?
She talks about a mariad of 'caste politics' issues and says there is no way for Kamal to know these things since he does not 'belong to them' ie he is not a 'kramaththaan'.
Then later on she bashes Kamal, a native of Paramakudy, for 'pretending' not to know them. Is she dillusional?
She implies Kamal is Brahminical and is racist towards other casts. In essnece, I think it is she who is Racist. Seems to me, she hates Kamal simply because he is a Brahmin by birth.
....later
