  Ya, Comparison shd be over the characteristics not the physical features. In the Ka,Ka song, the characteristics of 'being together' was compared, not that it has wings, it can eat insects...
  But, VM's comparison was that the 'maadu' can give milk just be taking 'pullu', which u can't.
  This is not just wild comparison, but idiotic comparison.
  And Rajan, a good lyricist shd reflect the mood of the song. If the scene demands vulgarity, the song shd follow that. U can't xpect a wood-cutter to sing 'Aha NAnooru' and 'Ratshanya YAthrigam'. So, he wont sing 'NarumugaiyE,..' but'll sing 'Apsakallu MAlya, Athuppakkam vARiyA'.
  It no way spoils the song, but goes with the situation, and that's what movie songs r all about.

  Hope I am not hurting the sentiments of any one here. If so, I can still fight for Vairamuthu.... and his songs (as long as it doesn't turn like Vaali's lines). By the way, my favourite Vaali's song is "Kan pona pathaiyil.. kaal pogalama?"), though I have many Vairamuthu songs to remember.

  Well, I admit that Vaali was okay till certain point, though he adds crap now and then. But after a certain point, probably mid 80s, he became more romantic and got attracted by sex.
  
  Well, I need to say few things regarding Vairamuthu's lines. Well, I always get lots of problems with floppy disk, CD, DVD and they keep failing everytime. And those lines by Vairamuthu shows even he had the same problem. When I heard that song, I thought, he made his point clear to the audience. Well, he likes dolby music. Be honest, don't you like too?
  
  Devathai kulitha neerai theertham.... these lines are gist of imagination. Well, is it not done to our Hindu Gods?
  
  Un perai maranthenada ...... comeon... she is looking at the heart and not the name of the person or the color of the shirt he is wearing....which seems to be good to me.
  
  Telephone mani pol sirrippaval.... this is just a logical extension of old NSK song, in which he talks about all kinds of laugther.
  
  If you have decided to be critic, you can blame all the good songs. Please listen to all the other songs and you will know what the difference Vairamuthu is making.
  
  Netru sabathangal eduthu vittan.. kudikindra kopaiyai udaithu vittan... meendum aval mugam ninaithuvitan... have you heard these lines from Sindhu Bairavi? SO are you still saying Vairamuthu can't write situational songs better than Vaali.

  One question from "puthu puthu arthangal".... The song is "keladi kanmani". The lines are " Kanal neeral theeratha thagam, Gangai neeral theernthadi". What an absurd? Whether any time Kanal Neer has quenched any one's thirst? Well, by the way, even in that movie, Geetha is the wife and it is always right to call her Gangai and the other one (I don't remember that Malayali actress name, but she is cute!) should be Kanal neer. So, if the lines have gone like these, it would have been better.

  "Raja ... Kooja...." by Vaali from Agni Natchathiram is definitely great.
  
  I came across these lines "Manmatha kovilil Paal abishegam" from "Oh vasantha Raja" from Neengal ketavai. But I don't who wrote these great lines.
  
  Similarly, one more song "Rathiriyil poothirikum." from Thanga Magan. But I think this is not written by Vaali. Have you heard these lines? Does this melody song deserve this Satanic verses? This is shabby treatment rendered to the song.
  
  There are so many songs like these. Melodies are killed by these stupid lines. Of course, one can argue, sex has been part and parcel of Tamil literature. But, my sincere feeling is let us leave this media, as it has to be heard with others. Books can be read in privacy but songs also has to be enjoyed in other's company.
  
  Frankly, though Vaali has few good songs, because of his sex hidden in his songs, I started hating him. And how many Vairamuthu's songs have sex? Please let me know.

  Is this not apt to the situation ? VM is a genius.
  And for Kamal who is blind in that movie, VM says, "kannukul mullai vaithu yaar thaithathu?" Is this not great again? You may call that an old song. Let us take recent movie "Jeans". Every line is great. Vairamuthu is also mischievous by calling Aishwarya Rai "50 Kg Taj Mahal". Just see the lines coming from a person who has the biggest disadvantage of coming to the world very late. Most of his imaginations are already caught by his old friends. But still he appreciates them by calling their help by saying "Nam kadali kavi padave shellyin kallarai thotathai kalaithiduvom"
  
  Please even if you are not appreciating these lines, I request not to call them junk.
  
  I don't know what great you have seen in "Yaar yaro nanban endru yemantha nenjam undu." In that case you will appreciate even my lines "Yaar yaraiyo kadhalichu yemantha nenjam undu". Please do not write the movie scripts in the songs, it is meant to be written by script writer.
  
  I am not insulting anyone here, please. But I am not able to accept your views of calling VM verses as junk and trying to argue with you guys. No offences meant please.

  I would rate these lines "Kadal thanni karikuthu... Karanam irukuthu... udal patta veravai kadalile kalakuthu." from sembaruthi, better than "Kadal mel piraka vaithan". I guess both are written by Vaali. By the way, even Vaali has mixed all English words in the movie Anajali. Please do remember vthat.
