AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  pple in usa and india are far far better than stupid malasian idiots. stupid malasian idiots knew nothing. they are nothing but dumbs. can u ask a dumb to judge the music?? to prove my point i'll give 2 samples (2 malasian idiots).
  idiot number one - dinesh and the other one is u (paran). look stupid, whether its ARR or IR both are indians. thats the bottom line. no one is from malasia. malasians know nothing abt music. go and listen to ur own malay music. thats the right kind of music for u ppl. its the indians who brought arr to the top when he was doing good, and they have the right to criticize he gives crap. so paran nee poi dinesh'da "S" a nakitu iru.. indian music pathi pesa varatha..

  These are the problems with a thread like this. If you had reacted to my post just on its own, it is a just reaction. But my post was in response to another post where a person was trying to make a point that ARR was the greatest because people in Malaysia converted to Tamil songs only after Roja. Hence my question - so what? How does some inconsequential tidbit (it may be just a casual observance than a fact) in Malaysia matter? Hope you get the context of my post.

  With regard to your other post regarding ppl. hate ARR' success. From my context, it has always been amazing that the hype and the accolades that have been given to ARR has always been far greater than his actual achievements. I think the recent poor acceptance of his albums are evidence that the hype is wearing off. So the response you see is more like the elation people get in movies where in the final scenes the truth wins.

  The music directors dont care what you think. They need the money, and they have been paid. Why get fanatic about music directors. Let them release the songs, may it be Rahman or Jeyraj or any other. Listen to the songs (generally comes free). If it is good appreciate it and keep listening. If it very good that you love it, buy the music. If not good, wait for the next. Dont bother about who makes the music. Listen to the music, for it is above all.
  
  Lastly the music directors are earning a living. Earn yours. Get to work. Discuss about the music. But, pray let it be healthy.

  There are bound to be meaningless arguments when folks bring in comparison of MDs or comparison of country preferences. Its just a never-ending vicious cycle that takes us nowhere.
  For eg. a statement like "Whats great about US?" can breed a 1000 other questions like "But how come you pointed out B-Dreams went to UK and made a fuss out of it? For all I care, it could well have gone to Somalia!".
  "ARR was the greatest because people in Malaysia converted to Tamil songs only after Roja." - another Eg of a meaningless statement. I know a hell lot of SG/Malaysians who are crazy about collecting 80s songs.

  We are near to hear BOYS songs.
  
  But if the boys music reach like UDAYA and PARASURAM what will be the explanation.
  
  If boys flops shall we accept HJ was behind ARR's past hits or HJ is better MD than ARR?.
  
  Because after HJ ARR could make any hit in TFM.I am not saying HJ as a great MD like ARR. But infact after HJ all ARR could not make any hit.

  Boys audio will get released in this week or next week. Shankar has planned to do the audio release function grandly.Rahman is singing the song which he sung in the movie 'boys',Shankar asked Rajini to release the cassetes he also agreed. Many directors also will be in this function including Maniratnam.Actor actress will also be there in great level. So it will be a great day.

  I agree to what raj has to say malaysian are blody idiots they don now anything abt music.But they like to give comments recently Rahman's Parthale Paravasam film was so badly condemed by them.I Fell the music score was great n differnt to wht other m.directors have done so far.We must understand that rahmans is developing very fast in every movie does a wonder.He is the gretesst music embodment ive ever seen and heard.

  and..so far..i have seen Malaysian backing up ARR..not as u r describing....

  as u said..Malaysian...have no taste..we are out dated country people..
  
  that is why..we have the most spohisticated MSC (Multimedia Super COrridor).....the first fully digitalized city in the world....
  
  we know nothign abt music.....what ever....go on...and say......Indian Music & Movie industry is surviving outside india..because of people in Malaysia, Singapore, UK and Canada...
  
  dun talk as though Indian music are only reserved for Indians...
  
  anyway..i know...why Kamal..always keeps this Indians' outside India (M'sia, SG, UK, Canada)..when making a movie...coz he knows....no matter how good his movie is....Indians...will comment....what else they know....
