Favourite singer?

HI! Lets have a vote. Lets see who wins in this votes. It might be a male singer or a female. Just tell me your favourite male and female singer. And I will be counting from the beggining of this thread. When I'm getting no responses from you all, then I will anounce the results. One male and one female singer. OK. First i'll tell mine.

  Both are treasures of Tamil film music and Tamilnadu. We are lucky to have a follower for Seerkahzhi in the form of his son. Alas, KBS follower (Kovai Kamala) failed in being choosy like the former and sings 'Kaana Karunguyiley' for sex bomb Jothilakshmi. What a perverted MD!

  what is wrong in the song "kana karunkuyiley"??
  is that a mukkal munangal song like "katipudi katipudida"???
  have u seen that song..its picturised very decently than many of nowadays songs.....
  is their a rule that Jyothilakshmi should not act in decent songs??
  have u listened to the lyrics of that songs??

  SPB beocz he has got everything. Voice, shruti and most importnat of all versatility. He can sing melodious numbers as well as atrocious(in a nicer sense of the word!) songs like Manoothu Mandhaiyila and Thanga Thamarai and still not flop. Everybody else are not even nearby as most of the rest (hari, unnikrishnan and the likes have a limited range. I listened to SPB's Vaasamae in Thenali and bliss is an understatement. Also another song in Ennavale "chinna chinna"... The famous single arrangement, one tune Rajkumar 's otherwise dull song actually sounds nice only becoz of SPB.

  Hello Priya--its been a pleasure to see this page......My favourite male singers are sri Ghantasala,Unnikrishan , Sonunigam & sri Kishore kumar....female singers are Smt M.S.Subbalakshmi,Smt P.suseela,Smt Asha Bhonsle....i'm a diehard fan of all of those voices....Whose voices inspired me to learn Classical Music(vocal)......

  This is subbu-K.
  I always vote for P. Susheela as the best female singer as her "bhavam" (Expression in voice) and the diction in any language is ever outstanding. She has the unique voice as well as place (No.1 even now).
  Best male singers to be shared by K J Yesudas and SPB, as they have created history in the music world.
