Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

C~P,
seriously, onnume puriyalaba :(
Are u talking calculus here?
Only thing I can make out from the posts is that Pratheepan's dumbness is independent of time and a given, hence f cannot be a function of t.
Though it would be right to say Dumbness = F(t), where t ranges from -infinity to +infinity, lets
assume dumbness as f(x).
it appears f"(x) < 0, then I assume f'(x) is a constant. But what should be the characteristic of x?

This is absolutely true and nothing but the truth!
I planned to watch 'BOYS' yesterday when the y played it in SUN TV.[First of all, having read all those negative comments in the magazines when the movie was initially released, I had mixed feelings of SUN TV choosing this movie for the Thamizh PuththANdu !]
Honestly, folks, I couldn't watch the movie with family! It is such a trash that I had to switch channels. Luckily, we had a lengthy News conference By President Bush which was the saving grace!
Finally, at 10 pm, after the news was over, I returned back to watch the rest of the movie and again, the way situations were exaggersted to the core was totally unbelievable and shocking.
And, the climax scene{!!] in the court room, that is the max!! It can never happen!
More of my saying would only end up as what has already been said on this movie already by many.
Waste of time!

This is going nowhere. Wait, let me argue in my normal fashion. If I make you angry, then thoughts don't get in(just an excuse!). So, I'll tone it down and try my luck!
Piratheepan,
See, you did not understand what I was taking about with respect to upper bound. That was a negative expression for your information. Don't expect everybody to explain things like your highschool teacher. You should try your best to get what is implied.
Arguements arise because of many reasons, alright. What are we arguing about now? Think about the context for a second before you come about with your usual stuff.
Un arguements purinjukka moolai vaenuma? lol. Occassionally you exhibit your sense of humour. I can avoid the bum, but what if there is a some one of a younger age? We are not having any "cleaning up" lessons. I'm speaking in the interest of all, while your views speak only for the people who are able to discriminate what is good and what is wrong. The film, by the way, did not have an A certification. The same is the case with obscene dialogues. By the way, if you say that BOYS did not have obscene dialogues, then it means that you do not know the foul words in Tamil!
I deliberately mentioned that you brought some one home coz I wanted you to realise what you had replied for what I had asked! I asked you if you had brought home a girl and you were gaga over how one drools over a girl. That is why I kept re-iterating that statement.
One last statement in the same mood where I left off...School-ku pona moolai valarumnu sollarey. Unnai paartha andha effect edhuvum irukkara maadhiri theriyala. I would rather live on TFM!
It is only after you used a term "hypocrite", I am arguing in this fashion.
Before you put up a saintly face in front of Ferrari, put a thought to what I told you earlier.
***************************
Piratheepan,
At this age, I have all the feeling which you mention. But, I never have thought of calling a girl home! That was just too much! I don't know what the others felt. It would have been OK if he had stopped it there rather than picturising the experiences of each and every guy!!
Sarat and Piratheepan,
Double standards? I am not saying that cinema projects ONLY what is going on in the society. Fantasies, illusions etc etc are all part and parcel of cinema. I am not saying that evry cinema that comes out is fully logical. I am not saying that I can relate myself to the characters that are projected. But there MUST be a limit that one needs to stick to.
***********************
If you say that you agree to what Ferrari is saying, this arguement would have ended before the cassette release of Aayidha Ezhuththu. As you can see, I never did put up a saintly face liked you claimed. Have in mind what was said earlier! And you called the same Ferrari "dumb" when that is precisely what he has been stating all through. Why is that? Escapism? I mean, you had to go to school rite? I get it!!
Prabhu,
I will clarify your doubt based on the response I get for this message! :-)

Personally i did not like Boys, it was not a movie to watch with parents, even story wise nothing was great, it was ok.
But let me remind you that Boys wasn't the first movie to spoil tamil culture.
1. Aziyatha kolangal - school kids watching Venniladai moorthy and y vijaya having sex, they later give y vijay pills.
2. if you thought running naked was a big thing then in Kizakey pogum rail - radhika will come around the town naked for the village to get rain.
Both these movies were made 20 years back i think.
Balachander was stupid enough to show women crossing cultural borders 20 years back when women weren't like that.
Bringing home a prostitue - so many movies, hero has 20 women finally gets married to a good girl.
The recent one i remember was gokulathil sethai.
It came a few years back, it was a good hit.
Tamil movies are plagued with infection then why cry about boys?
I have lot of respect for Maniratnam, infact he is the best director in India but the song vellai mazhai in roja, the bed scenes are more enticing than Shankars bringing home a pros scene.
Will it not instrigate ...... in the young minds.
Just think about it.
Sorry for the big post.

Thiru,
It is not that we are blaming BOYS alone. Any such thing, irrespective of the movie and the director is definitely condemned. Atleast, that is my stand.
And the running nude scene + prostitue scene. Well, I do not know how it was shown in those older movies coz I haven't seen them. But, as I said, I feel showing it the way Shankar did is definitely wrong. That's basically what I quoted in my previous post.
Well, I am too lazy to dig back again and find a post. So, I'll make the point directly. There were comparisons between Thulluvadho Ilamai and BOYS asking why people made the former a hit, but the latter a flop.
Thulluvadho Ilamai was by a new guy, Selvaraghavan. Not many people were expected at the theatres. Obviously it did not have the families pouring in. The opposition was therefore less. Very less budget, greater returns. So it was a hit. It was released in perhaps 10 centres and it ran for a 100 days.
BOYS is a Shankar film. Shankar's film obviously attracts more family crowd based on what he had to offer in his previous films. That caused the opposition and political parties made it big. Released in say 20 centres and ran for 50 days. That's effectively the same like Thullavdho Ilamai. But the budget here is very high and hence a flop.
TI is like a survey among 100 people while BOYS is like a survey among 1000 people. The basic point is that the latter survey reflects the feelings better.
As for the Political Parties, well, double standards it is. It was done with a selfish motive. Doing something against Shankar would obviously make it big news and that is why it was done.
