TMS&P.SUSEELA VS SPB&S.JANAKI

I certainly think and feel that TMS& P.SUSEELA,jodi which really dominated the tamil film music in the 60"s and 70"s is the BEST duet pair we ever had.Even IR"S favourite SPB,S.JANAKI jodi is no where near to them.

  TMS and PS are the best till date and thats a non written fact.Tell me a way that you want that to be prooved.Ask any star whos been with TFM for atleast 25yrs and u would get the same answer.

  One thing, during the days of TMS, the recording instruments, sound engineering were not as good as they were for SP . Next thing, TMS sang most of his songs for a different set of heros where the men had a very masculine voice (Sivaji, SSR, Muthuraman to name a few), whereas SPB's Heros did not have that a masculine voice (KAMAL, MOHAN). In order to get the effect in the songs TMS had to strain his voice a lot because of the above reasons, which is why TMS faded out soon.
  TMS pronounciation is far far superior to SPB

  Forget the lyrics, listen to all the TMS&PS combo from Siviji's "PA" series (Pavamannippu, Paasamalar, Parthal Pasi theerum, Baley Paandiya).
  I would rate this one as the BEST pair

  Between 1975-80 so many directors were trying to improve the quality of Tamil Cinema. Like mahendran, Rudraiah, jayabharathi( kudisai), durai(pasi) .....few movies done well like uthiripookal, pasi, aval appadithan etc.. Suddenly a wave, that spoiled the Tamli Film trend was "sakalakala vallavan". That film was a hit , and from then most of the movies started coming with 4 fights , 4 songs including third calss club dance, bed room songs etc. To maintain their market , they were ready to go any lower level. Few are exceptional like Maniratnam, KB ..
  Nethu Raathiri is the beginning if the trend and till sakkaravalli kilangu (Indu) it was continued. Evvallavu Aabasa kuppaikalai avarkal TFM-kku thanthirukkirargal. oru thaalatu paadalil kooda viraha unarchigali kotti theerthargal. Naalu suvargalukkul nadanthhal punitham, athai public aakinal aabasam. oru couple first night-il entha maathi sound koduppargal entellam aaraichi panni athai TFM-kku koduthargal.Oru public place-la intha paadalgal pottal eppadi irukkum? Ippadi patta " aabasa kuppaigalai" koduthavargalla ," gift of god"?.
  Entha vooru kadavul intha maathi gift kodukkirar? (for aa...hnh, mmm....mmm , hhoo...mm...)
  After ARR these kind of third calss songs were stopped. ( Thank you GOD).
  I know you have a excuse to call this as versatile. once again I say, "this doesnt require any skill. It require "THICK, THICKER, and THICKEST skin"

  SPB is no doubt the greatest singer ever along with M.rafi & Ghantasala, but SPB's voice some what gift from the god & it has such youthness & richfull aroma, from which millions worldwide have fallen with.

  From 1968 to 1991....SPB-PS have sung over 6000 duets in Telugu comparing with near about 3000 duets in tamil by TMS-PS....PS was NO1 in telugu till1991 and Chitra took her place...Even chinnathai aval Thalabathi song was rendered in Telugu by PS....
  Hence we should declare this thread as TMS-PS Vs SPB-PS...

  6,000 duets in telugu by SPB-PS? IS it true? It is very interesting.
  I heared the Telugu version of dalapati song "chinnathayavl" as "aada janmaku" . I feel proud of PS.

  A point that u have to know is SJ had made PS to go without been noticed except for some pathetic and sick outdated "things" like u, who doesn't know how to appreciate SJ's longlasting voice.
  
  Wake up.....tell me how many heroine would go for SJ's voice and how many would run away if they were given song by PS.
  
  Whatever, no point arguing with u. Facts would tell the truth. From yesteryear's Padmini to todays'Simran, I think there is no one else voice than SJ, is still ringing into our ears.

  Lata Mangeshkar : She appreciates PS voice in so many occations. In TFM PS thread see "cinema Express" thread. When PS got the National award ( I award for female singers was given to PS) , AVM falicitated her and that occation lata came from Bombay and praised her fro her voice.

  " PS is the queen" . Her suceess in on her talent and extremly good voice" . But your SJ's market was depend upon IR. Now he is down , so she. Kings and queens were never let them down. To sing some dan - dan -akka songs, and some third calss bed room songs she was not required .
  Now she is keeping herself away . " She never comes down from her position " . Once hear Sai geethanjai title song in Jaya TV. She turns to a music director too. even at this stage , voice is very stable.
