Lyrics - The Golden 70s

The 70s is a special period for me and holds a special place in my heart. Unfortunately it is a period overlooked by many people and we hardly hear songs from this period nowadays.

Whenever, I have the time, I would like to share the lyrics of some of my favourites and have discussions of this period.

  Thank you, Gowri!! Some of my favourite melodies, especially the duets, are from the 1970-s. A good number of them are by other singers (non-KJY!). Vaali has written very romantic lyrics, almost as classy as those by Kavinjar. I will contribute more to this thread soon (lack of time is the only problem!).

  Perhaps, it makes marginally better sense if it is

  Mangai enum amutha gangai peruguvathu neenthi karai kaanave
  
  That would mean: nearing vaigai anai, just as madhurai adorned by vaigai and the vaigai river embrace each other

  Enna appadi sollitenga? The song was a huge hit during its times. Movie is Valli Deivaanai, starring Ravichandran & Pramila. The singers were new and caused a sensation - Thanasegar & Malliga. Music was some guy Thiagarajan or something like that. Now, here is the song.

  3,5,6 and 7 from Sorgam Naragam.Not sure about 4 & 8.
  
  Music by SG and both are Devar movies.
  
  Thirisoolam heroines were KR Vijaya ,Sripriya and Reena.That song was for Reena.She was introduced by KB in Aval oru thodarkathai.Gowri take over.
