Songs that have made an emotional impact on us

All of us would have had the experience of having been emotionally affected (moved, exhilirated, etc.) upon listening to a song (some song or the other). So, why don't we put down the songs that have affected us so, and also mention what feelings the song(s) evoked in us, upon hearing it...

  good to find a big treasure of songs here. i would like to add some.
  1. idho idho an pallavi , from sigaram: the lyrics is too good, especially the part "en vaanam ennum koppaiyil, idhu enna paanamo, parugaamale rusi erudhe, idhu enna maayamo". SPB is engeyo in this song.
  2. thendral vandhu theendhum bothu, from avatharam. it is just like a thendral coming and touching us , like the smoothness of silk and feathers, like a breeze which enters our skin and makes us shiver. the scene is also important and the song can be visualized as revathy does in the movie as she is blind.
  3. the set of songs from mahanadhi, with the same music , but different lyrics, which come throughout the movie. the lyrics, when thought of in context, will move one to tears.

  A beautiful thread that you are running here.
  The songs that have touched me are
  (1) Ithu Oru Ponmalai Pozhuthu(Nizhalgal)
  Reminds me of the evenings in Madras and used to roam around in the streets of T Nagar with nothing much to worry , watching people playin g in the Venkatnaryana Road grounds and the general traffic going past.
  (2) Poovannam Pola nenjam(Azhiyatha Kol.)
  Great visuals , shoba and pratap intimacy and the "konji konji pesurathu" , with the color not so rich makes me want such a day where I will be with someone my heart wants.
  Similarly , Nila Vaana Odayil, Enulle Ennule, Malare Kurinji Malare.

  Vaan Meghangale Vazhtungal from Puthiya vaarpugal and Malargale naadaswarangal from KPR makes me feel of my past when I used to record the song in a tape recorder from 4:00 pm radio programme on Sundays. Oh ! what a time was that.

  The second song is from Kizhake pogum rail song is Malargale Nadhaswarangal Mangala melam sung by Malaysia Vasu. The song really is the best song in that movie.

  "Kovil mani Osai thannai" - vuttuteengalE. The
  prelude violin piece is superb. All the interludes are remarkable. Another melodius song from MV.
  
  I like "malargale" song also. But the farmer is my choice. Lyrics ellam decent irukkum. Panchu Arunachalama ezhudhiyadhu?

  veera : thanks for reminding me, i remember now. one of my favourite songs
  is "thene thenpandi meene" from udhaya geetham. whenever i hear that song,
  i become completely relaxed and am immersed completely in that music.
  what a great composition!!! similarly, "pacha mala poovu" from kizhakku
  vaasal and "velli nilave" from nandhavana theru. they are great lullabies . do
  they belong to the same raaga?? hats off to IR and SPB. mannAru: i like
  "kovil mani" too. everything is excellent in the song, except radhika!!!!

  i started tolerating sudhakar after seeing him as a comedian in a couple of telugu films. anyway, sudhakar is not at all an issue. look at the heroine first , yaar!! i saw KM thrice for shalini.

  Mr.Sankaran remimnded me of the tune yesterday and from that moment the song is running in the BG

  The tune is so melodious ,I'm humming the song even now ,while writing this............

  i think the song is 'naan ennumbozhudu' a remake of the hindi song sung by lata in the film anand. i have recorded the tamil song. it would definitely create a nostalgic feeling in those who listened to the music of that era.

  sriram :kandippaaga, i like it a lot. typical SPB style. some of the other lullabies i like the most:
  1. pachai malai poovu , from kizhakku vaasal
  2. kaalamidhu kaalamidhu kannurangu magale.the lyrics are very touching. "ennirandu vayadhu vandhAl kannurakkam illaiyadi" and so on.
  3. of course, the gem of all times from pasamalar. what lyrics!!!!!!

  There was a class lullaby in 'Magudam' scored by IR, Chinna kanna ....sung by SPB and SJ. Unfortunately, the song never made it in the popularity charts. Songs other than lullabies,

  Absolutely...reminds me of my school days in Coimbatore in the late 70's when listening to CBE radio from 8:20 to 8:50 in the morning was my definition of heaven. Counting the number of SPB songs broadcast was another 'art' that I always indulged in. Songs of that era have a special place in my heart ..like

  one song that touched me was "endru thaniyum indha sudhandhira dhaagam" in kappalottiya thamizhan. it is the combined effect of bharathiyar's song, sivaji's acting and the environment and music. i do not know who the MD is. the song will easily evoke tears in anyone's heart. way better than ARR's vantheeeeeeeeeeeee Maaatharrummm.

  How can u compare a bharathiar song with diamondu's song??As I had posted earlier, ARR's VM is just a pop album meant to bring more money to their (bharat bala,ARR and VM) pockets and it has nothing to do with patriotism.
