Is ARR Running out of Stuff?

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

I listened to VandeMatharam in which ARR recycled his own tunes from Kizhakku Ceemayile and a touch of a song from Indira.
Also ARR's recent movies for big time producers like Ratchagan and Iruvar (except one song) and Dhoud in Hindi did not have any notable music. Remember ARRs last hit Minsarak Kanavu music was done long time ago.

If for a major album for Sony released on 50th year of Indian Independence, ARR cannot produce original music, then I have to come to the conclusion that he is running out of stuff. I heard that ARR is planning to cut down on movies and concentrate more on albums. Thus he will have to produce less and earn more.

Right now I do not see any difference in the quality of music produced by ARR and Karthik Raja. In fact I think Deva is doing a better job of providing consistant good quality music.

  Raj#2 - I have never compared IR and Arr,
  it is Arr vs all others,
  why he is potrayed here always has person without creativty -- dumb fellow -- copies from western - uses keyboards (so what) ---- overtook over every MD just bcos of luck.... etc etc..
  I totally object this practice, he is a great artist, currently he is on top producing good & great numbers, took tfm all over India.
  IR was great --- Arr was able to do something little more to overtake IR -- this has happened right in front of our eyes (for Mr.Srikant in front of his ears ) -- no one can deny this...

  A relevant piece of information ,Kuzhapam:
  Sachin Tendulakar is admittedly the best batsman currently in the world. Recently, he played a test in Sri Lanka and got out for a miniscule score. One Mahela Jayawardene went on to score 242.
  He overtook Sachin right before my eyes, ears, nose, lips and teeth:)
  
  BTW, What is that "something" more that ARR did to "take over" from or"Overtake" Raja? We all know some meaning for "something". IS that the something you are referring to?:)

  I think Mr.Kuzhapam was referring to 'Vandhe Matharam' album and not 'VairaMuthu'.

  I feel this is a wrong attitude and it takes us nowhere. I have no right to ask you to stop writing like this and I understand that. But, why should you fight (or start a fight) in a forum that is meant for fun? And, what pleasure does one derive by irritating others? I feel that is wrong. Don't mistake me. I am just requesting you to stop using such words like "I will try my best to irritate" and "if you can't fight, atleast start a fight". If some people don't like ARR's songs, it is their right and they have all the right to comment about that. Am I right sir? Similarly, if you don't like some songs, you can always comment on it and no one is going to stop you from doing so. Instead, commenting about IR's work just because IR fans comment on ARR's work is a wrong attitude sir. Another thing,

  IMO, DG has very good songs - "naan vaakkappattu", "en kanavinai" - have u heard it? If you have heard it and if you don't like it, you can very well comment on that. No one can stop you. But, please don't comment on it just because it is not popular or IR fans comment on ARR's songs. (This is just a request!!!).

  Kuzapam: Trust me.. I knew you were trying to say "cursing"-note the "maybe" before I deliberately misinterpreted it as "curing". But then, you know, I have this deplorable habit of pouncing on such accidental mistakes of others and turning the tables on them with their own words. And such habits die-hard.:)

  ARR did give hit numbers (note the word hit numbers). But versatality in his approach??? well I'm sorry, I don't want to comment (I don't like commenting on the works of creators). Steal the key board from ARR, give him just pure instruments, give him violin, flute and what ever non synthesised instrument. Let him come up with a soul soother like 'kanne kalaimane', I will salute thee. this doesn't mean that keyboards and synths are no music (I know Mr.Srikanth would madichukattufy his veshti for this), but the point is, IMO these eyboards and synths don't give sooothing music.

  Using KeyB or not ...this is diff topic --- ...same KeyB is used by Deva or Sirpi or IR --- still they are not able to produce what this guys does.
  Btw:KanneKalaimane has many keyB parts, who said it does not have keyb.

  So. Kaane Kalaimaane has KeyB? And Raja was able to come up with such natural, soothing music with KeyB! Hey! Doesnt that prove the inherent greatness of Raja viz-a-viz-Rawman?
  The point is Raja has handled these automatic signals superbly(You admitted as much just now by implying Kanne kalaimaane had KeyB) but our man Rawman seems to be lost without the gadgets...there lies the difference.
