  I think South Indian Film Music is more advanced..remeber LP's foray into Tamil...I dont think they made a big splash...Sandeep Chowta's "Azahgiya Theeye" lacks lustre...so I won't be surprised if AM uses Ranjit Barot a lot and try to make an impact..if AM is a man of any honour..he should now change his professional name to Malik-Barot

  Cosmician: I meant it purely as a joke. I'm really amused at Anu Malik's entry. Lets see how far he goes. Anyway, Sandeep Chowta is scoring music for a tamil film for the first time (a direct tamil movie), called 'One...two...three' starring Prachu Deva, Jyotika and Raju Sundaram.

  Anu malik will just be another composer in tfm world...i am sure his entry will not make much difference...he will be one among the numerous...for this land which has seen the best of the best MDs like IR and ARR, anu malik is not really going to be a great sensation here...that is what i think...anyway lets wait and see... but i dont think there is anything to "beware" of!!

  Now i've made it! Hear "chennaipatnam" from just-released "alli thantha vaanam". Hasn't Vidyasagar done a clean cut&paste of my "silver malarae" in "Lovely"?

  We should think of Anu Malik as an upgraded Deva !!!AKS sounds good. If he did something like that in Tamil, then he will surely be doing good business out here.

  I have heard Asoka (by AM) too. It sounds pretty good. In fact it is better than anything which contemporary tamil MDs have to offer. We should stop singing the glory of IR and ARR when it comes to "current music". As great as they were, it is just that - they "were" - neither of them have done any significant new work in the last year. For the rest of the gang, an AM+Barot combination, combined with the North Indian mOgham of the thamizh audience will prove to be a stiff competition.

  Asoka is definitely not a good score. That too for a PERIOD film!!!! Dont know why everybody is raving about it!! These days it looks like all of them are out to elevate this Hindi SAR to the league of India's greatest composers!!!! Ridiculous!
  The only addition this parasite can boast of (but i doubt he will ever admit it) is Ranjeet Barot, who ghost-composes most of his scores!!!

  Superb, echoed my ideas. I would not be suprised if AM is successful in tamil, since his music is not going to be different from Jingles Composer Band(ARR, HJ, YSR).
