Hi all,
It gives me pleasure to review an album like KK. It is a delightful treat coming at such a low price(35 Rs). I saw the movie first and then decided to buy the album. The songs are 100% perfect match for the movie. They do not protrude out of the movie (no item numbers). "Dhevadhaiyai " song is a melody sung by Harish and it is his best in recent times. The beat in the song is subtle but clear and enhances the song without marring out the lyrics. "Manasu rendum ..." is a great song. Noteworthy points abt this song is it starts slowly and as Shankar Mahadevan sings (what a rendition? hats off), the song gains on you and in the end tails of slowly. Watch it with the movie, the impact is certain. Kadhal mattum is a good number sung with range and pep by Vijay yesudas, has very good chorus and musical arrangement. Only jarring note being the starting music(I heard it like start of an old motor car!!). The best part of the album is theme music (Again watch it in the movie. Dhanush has done a beautiful an dscintilliating dance for that). Overall a must have music album and a must see movie. I would give 4*s out of 5.

There are totally six songs in this album
1. Malargalae - This song is sung by Bombay Jayashree, with her husky voice she had rendered this melody song which has wonderful lyrics. This song will appeal those who like songs like vaseegara by Jayashree. 9/10.
2. Nattu Sarakku - This song is sung by non other than Dhanush & Co. This song is pakka Gana Song. This song would be definetly hit among the youths. But the lyrics is somewhat makes the song a drawback. 9/10.
3. Puthu Kadhal - This song is duet song, sung by Ranjith and Chinmayi, this has some good lyrics too. 9/10
4. PuthuKotta Sarava - This is an introduction song of dhanush, sung by Kunal & Co. 8/10.
5. Baby Baby - By Yuvan and Carla, This also is one of the good songs of the album that would definetly appeal the audience, but the lyrics being the question mark. 9/10
6. Where do we go - This is sung by Yuvan. The best among all other songs. One would feel to listen the song again again, the trak being only for 3 min. 10/10.

Overall its AGAIN a HIT MUSIC ALBUM from Yuvan Shankar Raja and Dhanush Team.

Regards
murali

once in a while an album comes to make you feel wonderful deep inside.you feel like falling in love, crying, thinking about someone...it will bring back so much emotions deep inside.and rainbow colony is one such album.
i dont listen to tamil music much.there is only fast numbers or music you can hear it in funerals.even yuvan was disappointing in recent times.but here comes an album with style and announcing its stay for a very long time.
rainbow colony ,i think is fantastic in every way possible.
1.ninaythu...shraya's version.
shraya has some magic in her voice, like lata of yesteryears. it just floats you somewhere up.you can feel the love in her voice.great song after a very long time. 10/10

2.kana kanum
arguably the best song in the album.madhumita and harish put in lot of effort.the compositon and arrangements are something very different and very indian.heard it ten times and still not tired of it.a perfect ten.

3.music of joy
dont think anybody is out there to do this kind of experiment.the strings are conducted in an excellent manner.compositon is very live.yuvan has come out with soulful music and his knowlede in music is amazing. 9/10

4.naam vayathukku
one album shoud have its normal number also to satify general audience or that is what they believe.still you can like it because of lyric and beats.
9/10

5.ithu porkalama
a chart buster.harish and muthukumar excels in their own way.god..sice how long we heard a lyric like this? hats off muthukumar.regret it is very short
10/10

6.kan pesum
again muthukumar comes out strongly with karthik.music is very simple which makes it a instant hit in theatres and shops.karthik's voice is deeply moving
10/10

7.kana kanum by madhumita
where was she all these days? with this kind of talent...yuvan did a nic...e job giving her a break.
she will go somethere with out doubts.there are no words to explain the magic of her voice.just listen and fall in love with her
10/10

8.january madham
more of an arabian song.very catchy.sung well.nice song for cars.again yuvan shows his command of composing new things
9/10

9.ninaithu k.k
another great song.something happens in your heart when you listen to it.the voice and lyric blow you apart.you can feel the pain of love.
a perfect ten

10.theme
finally a real theme has come in tamil cinema which we can play anywhere in the world with pride.never thout yuvan could compose something like this.

finally 7g rainbow colony is something which comes just once.an amazing album.

RAM
YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA

Yuvan who proved his mettle in scoring fast and racy numbers in Manmathan, has shown that he is adept at soul-stirring songs.

1) Aarariraro

A soft and melodious number, the song describes the affection and bondage a mother and her son share. Yesudoss's graceful voice combined with neat lyrics and less instrumentation makes the song a listening pleasure. It is nice to hear the veteran's voice after a long time. Though not in the best of shapes, Yesudoss still retains his essential melody. And that is truly satisfying.

2) Boom Boom
A rap number with fast racy music is Boom Boom. Sung by Jyotsna, Tippu, Yuvan Shankar Raja and a new singer Premgi, Boom Boom is typical in its conception and rendition. There can be hardly any musical surprise in a rap number. This one, too has very little.

3) Manidhan Solkindra

The song may perhaps interest those specializing in music trivia as it features the father and son of duo of Yesudoss and Vijay Yesudoss. It also has Ranjith in between. The number begins slowly but picks up momentum on the way. Describing the mission to be accomplished by the hero in the movie, the song has verses from Bhagwad Geeta in between. Yuvan Shankar has brilliantly blended Kerala instruments like Chenda Melam to add pep to the number.

4) Nizhalinai Nijamum

This song shows why Yuvan is the son of Ilayaraja. The tune, leisurely and laid-back, is almost a throwback to an era gone by when melody ruled the waves. Vijay Yesudoss and Yuvan Shanker Raja, as singers, may be an unlikely combination. But they bring out the essential lilt in the tune.

5) Vidigindra Pozhudhu

Madhumitha is certainly one for the future. Hear her voice and you will understand. Her silken-smooth voice accentuated by the smart instrumentation of Yuvan. The song rings in your ears like a resonant bee. A highlight of the album.

6) Yaaro Arivaal

This number is a seeming an inspiration from Ilayaraja's tune Engae Sellum intha pathaai in Sethu. Sung by K J Yesudass with his son Vijay Yesudass and Ranjith, there is a haunting feel to it. It talks about recondite philosophy and its melody stays with you long after the music is stopped.

Another winner from Yuvan.
