The Alternative Tamil Film Music Awards 2000

Okay, so we've been talking about the best work in Tamil Film Music this year, but I thought, just to be different, I'd ask you guys to vote on the following:

Best Ghana: My pick is "Kedaikalla..." from "Parthein Rasithein". What's yours?

Best Village-style song: My pick is "Karuppu dhaan..." from "Vettri Kodi kattu"

Worst pronunciation: My picks are Sadhna Sargam for "Snaehidhanae" from "Alaipayuthey" and "Konjum mainaakkazhae..." from "Kandukondain Kandukondain", and Udit Narayan for "Haiyo pathikichu..." from "Rhythm".

Most over-hyped album of the year: My pick is A R Rahman's "Rhythm".

Most over-rated singer: My pick is Vasundra Das.

Worst voice: My pick is Kavitha Subramaniam (or is she still called Kavitha Krishnamoorthy?) for "Kaatrae yen vaasal..." from "Rhythm" and Deva (generally).

Worst song: My pick is "Kuchanooru" from Izhaya Raajaa's "Karisakaatu poovae".

Best album full of copied songs: "Kushi" (I presume it is Deva's).

  BTW., I fully agree with you on Sadhana Sargam for the same songs you have mentioned., Her voice is sweet., I agree., But IMO, thamizhla avanga paadina ellaa songaiyum spoil paNNiyirukkaanga., Best Examples are 'Snehidhane'(Alaipaayuthey) and 'Kaththum kuyilee' (Kizakkum MeRkum).

  Best Ghana: 'Malae Malae' from Chocolate...a pathbreaker in this genre I thought, what with female vocals and stylised(!) arrangements.
  
  Best Village-style song: Hands down for "Kaatre Kaatre" from "Kaadhal Jaathi".
  
  Worst pronunciation: Definitely "Jothi neranjave"-12B, followed closely by Rashid Ali for "Naathir Thinna"

  Most over-rated singer: Its been a year and still can't think of anyone worse than Vasundhara Das[ Laila song from Little John & those Citizen songs].

  Worst song: Almost all songs from Priyadha Varam Vendum & Ennavale
  
  Best album full of copied songs: Only album I could think of was "Citizen"

  what exactly u ment by posting kavitha krishnamoorthy's "katre" as worst voice?Do u know any thing about her reputation or anything about music as such?Have u ever listened to the line "Anbe nan uranga vendum 'Azagana edam vendum'..."?Have u noticed the modulation in her voice in this line of the same song?Go listen to it before posting expert comments.
