ya..ya..
IR's philosophy....as far as his fans have understood is...BASH ALL OTHER MD's OTHER THAN IR's FAMALY's.
Guy...
Don't get serious.

his philosophy is all "namkevaste" , if he really
think he has renounced wordly relations " he could have worked with VM , he could have worked with BR etc " he is very adamant and has that hatred feeling deep sown in his heart

CF - its totally a bad taste..... u have posted nearly after 20 hours - did u ever see anyone posting any response to what "namkevaste" did ? why blame IR fans unnecessarily.... hope u understand....

on: Thu Aug 2 17:22:42 EDT 2001
sabesan,
so ur point is IR fans have never responded to a critisism on IR (like the above) before! is that correct?
- From: sabesan (@ adsl-64-160-55-196.dsl.snfc21.pacbell.net)
on: Thu Aug 2 18:11:50 EDT 2001
Bharath - u got it a little bit wrongly.... my point was this time no one responded.... so why try to simulate (not sure if this is the correct word) or start something or talk about something unwanted ?
- From: ravi (@ guardian.aig.com)
on: Thu Aug 2 18:23:37 EDT 2001
Bharath, u call that a 'criticism' ? IR's fans do respond to criticism, but not to such utter nonsense. To respond to something, u should understand what the person is trying to say. did namkevaste's posting make any sense at all to u ?

ravi,
i do not want to say any derogatory remarks abt "namkavsathe". But yes ! He has made a blanket statement connecting IR's philosophy with his interpersonal relations with other collegues.
Yes "namkavasthe"'s posting cannot ammount as critisism but just a no-op statement.
I also did not intend to critisize sabesan's remarks but just trying to bring home the point that if an IR fan made the simlar statement abt ARR. the very same people who think "namkevasthes" statement was nonsense, wud'nt rush out with "stop the nonsense" placards.

hey
y dont we stop with just IR'S music alone

Bharath, nobody 'rushed out with "stop the nonsense" placards'. I was only pointing out that it was not a 'criticism' and it was not worth responding to. namkevaste's posting wouldnt have made any sense to me even if he had said the same thing (whatever he was trying to say) abt ARR. I just ignored it when i 1st read it, just like everybody else (except CF) did.

IR's philosophy is reflected in his music. Help millions of lives lead interesting lifes thru music that makes everyone wonder that there is indeed a human being who can make mundane life joyous. Raja's philosophy demonstrated that you can make many miserable souls happy and give many unemployed people something to think about, something to work with.
Shouldn't that be life's goals. Making millions leading drab lives seeing their lives made mundane my mediocre bosses, mediocre politicians, mediocre everythin else.
I mean can't that be a philosophy? I for one leading a drab life pursuing a career to get a pot of gold at the end of the chemical rainbow
do not worry much when the philosophy of music of Illayaraja is switched on....
how about that my dear friends. good topic, keep it comin... what we today is music to replace jobs...
KJ Yesudoss's quote (i think this one is profound and philosophical) "There is so many forms of music hidden deep in this man's (IR) heart that it has all got to come out for the good of mankind." anyone wants to quote better philosophy than this?
Let noble ideas come from all sides.

There is a good quote regarding "the path to hell" . its is said "the path to hell is paved with intention and no execution".
The tamilian does not know that
"one gets what they work for
not what they wish for "
I am saying this inspired by "IR fan" 's prev posting. It leads me to believe that tfm music is a sort of an escape to a imaginary parallel world for an average man. It distracts a person from life's realities and gives brief moments of serenity far away from all worries.
Nothing is encapsulated much better about this philosophy than the song "madai thiranthu" in "nizhalgal" . It is one of my all time fav of IR/BR. The humming that spb does in the middle (similar to the one he does in "ilamai itho itho") is totally mind blowing!
The film situation itself provides an escape for chandrasekhar from his everyday life troubles and makes him think his life has finally jump started. That song was a temporary escape from reality not only for chandrasekhar but for us also.
Like in that movie, life is jolted back to reality immdly after that song!
Brilliant situation! Brilliant scenrio! coming from two people in a remote village from tamil nadu. makes every word in "padikatha methai" relevant! Hats off! to that moment!

i remember the movie and the song. that song is a good pointer. hei, hei, pa pa pa paappa... what a take off to the stanza...

//"hei, hei, pa pa pa paappa... "//
exactly what i was talking abt! do u remember the one is "sakalakala vallavan"
goes like... "thaka thaka thaka ...thakatha" when kamal is underneath the big chandelier. wonderful bit!

As far as IR is concerned, his musical talent, he has said, is just the dirt accumulated from past lives and he is washing it off now ! From the Vedantic point of view..he is right....if a person is born a genius it can only be the result of a past desire...and it has to be worked out in the present life..cleared so that one can achieve the Ultimate Goal of Life...Self-Realization...that's what I feel he has understood and is working his way towards it...as far as not working with BR, MRand VM is concerned...if seen from the point mentioned above....IR definitely wont fit into their thinking and mold which is more commercial...so this doesnt mean that he is arrogant and proud....it only means that he didnt want to fall into the "rat race" set by BR, MR and the rest.....
