  to name a few.. who cares about lyrics these days. Do you have a voice that is so manly nowadays like Seerkazhi or TMS? All males sing like females.. especially Udit Narayan and other North Indian singers literally murders our tamil.

  Not true. There are quite a lot if you start looking. Examples:
  
  1. Vathi kuchi pathikaathadaa yaarum vanthu koluthura varaiyile (Dheena)
  2. Merkkey uthikkum sooriyane (Citizen)
  3. Oruvan oruvan muthalaali (Muthu)
  In fact all Rajini movies will have at least one such song.
  4. Avararavar vaazhkkaiyil aayiram aayiram maatranggal (Paandavar Boomi)

  one of the most inspirational songs is from marupaduyum "ellorukkum nalla neram undu, kalam undu vazhvilae". haunting melody, excellent lyrics by vali and the golden voice if kjy.

  ambleen..wow :) I am more motivated to work now !! Seriously, look at this song..IR starts in Ennio Morricone's style (the standard in cowboy music) and puts his stamp on it successfully..

  Yes,i agree. He really did put his stamp on it fantastically. I've listened to this song like kazillion times and still not enough. Wonder if there is a CD around. I believe if you hear it on a re-mastered CD version, the sound will make the song even more enjoyable and more 'wow'!!
  
  Anyway, lets hope one day the movie'll come out in DVD 5.1 channel!

  Just 4 or 5 seconds the music resemble Ennio Morricone's music. Ennio Morricone defined this is how cowboy music should be. Everybody followed suit. It is a way of honouring Ennio Morricone. IR carefully avoided resembling usual cowboy music once the song started.
