Great tunes ruined by lyrics that 'sounded' dull, lacked gait/balance and was just awkward and vice versa!

Thatti Thatthi thavidum thangam edi needane... from Periya Kudumbam is the outstanding example of awkward string of words for the lyrics throughtout the entire song that marred a rare, graceful and classy tune of IR by the lopsidedness of the syllables or the sounds of the words. On the other hand, what would be a great song with wonderful sound in the lyrics? Oru Poovanathilu in Kazhugu. I am not talking abt the greatness of the lyrical value here. any more examples of awkward sounding lyrics spoiling songs?

  Yes, from Star, 'Machham Machiniye' spoilt the whole song. I've heard the hindi version b4 and tho i don't understand Hindi (i rely on subtitles) I loved the song Ruthaagayire. I guess ignorance is bliss and whatever the song meant, it sounded nice. Then I hear the Tamil version and it has lyrics like 'thundil meengalae valai veesum'. Somehow, talking about fish in a net is not my cup of tea, and it spoilt the sound of the song. And wat on earth is maccham machiniye anyway? And i can't stand mumtaz, so watching the picturisation was all it took for me to hate the song for good.

  The worst lyrics written by A.M.Rathnam and Sivaganesh
  for most of the ARR songs in Telugu have spoilt his songs
  completely. I think AM Rathnam is the biggest curse
  that happened to ARR. IR's songs combined music
  with lyrical richness conferred by Veturi, Sirivennela etc.
  If ARR doesn't stop AM Rathnam his songs can never become
  long-lasting. I will be the first person to celebrate if AM Rathnam
  stops penning down lyrics. Please...

  wats up with the songs from ashoka man, the lyrics make no sence. Remember the lyrics form Kushi, half the words werent real
